This document discusses cyber bullying, including what it is, where it occurs, who the bullies and targets typically are, and some statistics about its prevalence. It defines cyber bullying as mean-spirited electronic messages or threats posted anonymously online. Common platforms include email, social media, texting, and chat rooms. Bullies often target those who are smaller or bigger, minorities, disabled, or lack confidence. Over half of students report being cyber bullied or bullying others. The document recommends that schools develop policies, train staff, educate students and parents, and coordinate with the community to address this growing issue.
The document provides an overview of the resources and services available at the UCSD library, including books, eBooks, research databases, music, DVDs, computers, wireless access, study spaces, research help in various forms, student jobs, and library events. Students can use their UCSD ID card as their library card and stay connected with the library through social media or by attending workshops, tours and other events held throughout the year. Questions can be directed to library staff.
The document provides a history of social networks, beginning with early computer-mediated interactions like email and bulletin boards in the 1970s. It discusses key early social networks like SixDegrees.com in the late 1990s and the rise of Facebook in 2004. The document also outlines other major social platforms like Twitter, Google+, and professional networks like LinkedIn. It concludes that the social media market continues to change rapidly and competition remains high between industry leaders.

Create Value In Projects Through Information Ecology1guest7471d9a
Information ecology is an information management method and model which focuses on environmental approaches that integrates diverse types of information to handle and recognize evolutionary changes; to emphasize on observation and description; and to focus on people and information behavior. There are three main information ecology environments of which this approach utilizes:
1) The information Environment
2) The Organization Environment
3)The External Environment
If one fully understands information ecology then project management in terms of its complexity becomes less complicated in its methods and understanding.
I am sharing this profound question and my answer with my colleagues within my network. Your comments would be very welcomed.
I am currently editing my manuscript and research on Information Ecology into a book called "Create Value in Project Management through Information Ecology"

The document discusses what makes a website engaging and provides tips to increase engagement. It defines an engaging website as one that is interactive, captivating, and convenient. Websites can engage users by getting their attention, encouraging repeat visits through loyalty, and improving search engine optimization. The document recommends focusing on value, design, usability, content, and interactivity to make a website engaging and provides examples of engaging websites from Marriott, BMW, and Shell. It analyzes pharmacy websites and finds they have room for more engagement through better design, usability, and interactive features like blogs, forums, and communities.
This document contains advice from various entrepreneurs on topics relevant to starting a business, including ideas, products, iteration, failure, value, traction, risk, money, entrepreneurship, and thanks. Some of the key points made are that the value of an idea is equal to the time it takes to come up with another, most startups fail due to building things people don't want, successful companies iterate based on feedback, an entrepreneur's education comes from failure, and the biggest challenge is gaining traction for a new product or service.

The document compares different display technologies that can be used in Sakai and provides recommendations. Java Server Faces (JSF) is currently most used but has many weaknesses. Java Server Pages (JSP) are okay for small projects but have poor separation of code and UI. Velocity is discouraged. Plain Java servlets are not recommended. Reasonable Server Faces (RSF) is a Spring-based framework that provides clean separation of code and UI and is recommended for new Sakai applications.

The document proposes a digital strategy targeting young adults ages 15-21. The strategy involves a Young Adult Competition asking participants to envision future technologies and computers. It would be promoted on Facebook, Twitter, Google AdWords, and Foursquare. The goal is to create awareness of Intel and technology early on, gain market insights, and potentially identify future employees. The budget is $65,000 with funds going toward prizes, marketing, and promotions primarily on social media and internet platforms most used by young adults. Feedback and engagement metrics would help evaluate the strategy's success.

This document summarizes a workshop on shared infrastructure. It includes:
- Status updates and feedback from 4 guest speakers on shared production environments
- Exercises on the value of sharing resources like software, knowledge, and group buying
- Discussion of 4 potential business models focusing on centralized vs decentralized production and prototypes vs small mass production
- Mapping the different business models and focus areas to the guest speakers' companies and ideas
The document discusses circular economy and performance economy models. It defines a circular economy as closed resource loops within a regional economy through reuse and recycling. A performance economy involves selling goods as services by retaining ownership of products and resources. The document outlines several benefits of these models including job creation, reduced emissions and waste, and decoupling economic growth from resource use. Sustainable taxation and framework conditions that do not penalize reuse activities are presented as ways to further encourage circular business models.
This document discusses the relationships between planet, profit, and people and how society, economy, and ecology are interrelated. It advocates for a new paradigm where the goal of the economy is to increase social well-being rather than profits alone. It presents a manifesto for a new materialism that encourages developing lasting relationships with things and reusing and repairing items rather than constant consumption. It questions whether bigger scale is always better for businesses and argues that smaller size could allow for more profit, art, or fun depending on one's goals. It advocates considering remaining small if it may be better rather than growing just for the sake of growth.
This document discusses the role of users in product innovation and development. It outlines different ways that users can be involved, including user testing, crowdsourcing, observational techniques, and co-creation between companies and disciplines. It also discusses how big data can inspire innovation and how an innovation is considered a user or manufacturer innovation depending on who benefits from using or selling it. The document lists several publications and projects related to mass customization, co-creation, and engaging consumer-innovators in innovation.
Nnof provides sustainable services including reuse, repair, and recycling of office furniture and other objects. They offer reuse through minor cleaning and fixes or more substantial changes like painting cabinets. For recycling, they take old desktops and pedestals and transform them into new objects like lounge furniture or lockers. Nnof aims to support the local economy and environment through urban mining and durable, customized services with close client contact.
The document summarizes a workshop about innovative business models. It discusses 2TheLoo, a chain of public toilets that generates revenue through fees and product sales. It then covers various business model innovations in industries like music, transportation, and banking. Attendees were tasked with suggesting business model analogies for iMade, a digital manufacturing initiative, and developing new concepts based on those analogies, like 3D printing service 3DHubs. The workshop aimed to help develop iMade's business model through analogy-based idea generation and group work.
Board Of Innovation - Plan C: iMade workshop duurzaam materiaalbeheerPlan C Innovatienetwerk
David Arroyo presented on i.materialise, an online 3D printing platform started in 2009 that has almost 1,000 employees worldwide. The platform offers 3D print lab services, an online gallery of 3D printed designs, and a creation corner for users to design their own 3D models. Examples of designs in the gallery include Mutation 1 by Hugo Arcier and various designer toys made by different artists.
