Pitch for
Better Health
campaign
What is the
requirements of the
brief?
For this campaign, I will be
working with the Better Health
campaign to produce a creative
piece on a theme which they have
set out for us to focus on. The aim
for this campaign is to encourage
young people and raise
awareness for the Better Health
campaign and the aim is also to
improve young people’s health
and wellbeing whilst being in the
campaign.
Who is the
client?
The client is the NHS which is the National Health Service for
the UK. The service is a government-funded medical and
health service which is available to everyone that lives inside
the UK and it has no cost at all.
The NHS was established in 1948 and was funded by taxes
and to this present day; it is still funded by taxes. The NHS has
an average of one million patients every 36 hours and from a
survey from April 2022, it says that there was an estimated 25
million GP appointments in England.
The NHS has a lot of different services and all of these are free
to everyone and some of these services include: ambulances,
same day emergency care, the NHS 111 service and GP
advice. One of the most important services is the NHS 111
service and this is a less urgent service than the 999 service.
This service provides a connection to a nurse and from there
they can be given an appointment to go into A&E, get advice
and find out about different services they offer.
Audience
Research
The target audience for this project is 16-20. 36.4% of
people in that age range 2-4 exercise times a week and
27.3% exercise everyday. The small minority of the pie
chart which is 18.2% on once a fortnight and once a
month and this shows that they will need to exercise
more.
From my audience research it also shows that it is 50/50
on if they enjoy doing exercise. This massively helps me
because it identifies that in my video I feel need to show
people being happy whilst exercising. From the
questionnaire that several people conducts, a minority of
people said that do not feel better whilst doing exercise
which is why I am creating a motivational exercise video!
Existing media
products
I conducted three pieces of existing
media products research and they
all helped me towards gathering my
idea. One that caught my eye was
the Nufffield Health advert as it
shows that if you keep trying and
you keep trying your best to get
better, you will become happier and
be a better person. It also says that
it can take time to get better
physically and mentally but it will get
better.
Which theme am I
selecting and why?
For my project, I am selecting the getting
active theme because from my research, it
shows that only 50% of people enjoy being
active and 37.5% of people do not feel
better by being active. I am choosing this
theme to get people to start exercising and
telling them that in the end, exercise will
make you a happier person if you start
seeing results from it. I have also chose
this theme because I believe that exercise
can help you physically and mentally.
Which two products am I
selecting and why?
For this project, I am choosing an tv advert and a radio
advert. I will be doing a tv advert to show the benefits and
what you can do for being active. Following the benefits, I
will show someone being happier because they have found
being active a good thing and I will show them having a
good lifestyle. I am also doing a radio advert because it will
be a short 30 second radio advert questioning the audience
and telling THEM what to do!
What is my idea?
My idea for both my tv advert and my radio advert is being a motivational
video/audio visualisation of what they need to do to be a better self and
how they can be more active in their lifestyle.
In my TV advert, I will have a group of people doing exercises and these
will be separated by different shots. Every couple of clips, it will show a
motivational word. This is meant to motivate the audience and get them to
be more active! Towards the end of the video, it will show the people
getting together and having a better lifestyle and this is because of
exercising!
In my radio advert, I will be questioning the listener and telling them what to
do if they are not active. The start of the script is: “Are you active? Do you
want be to active? Then simply do it. Being active will be create a better
you.”.

  • 2. What is the requirements of the brief? For this campaign, I will be working with the Better Health campaign to produce a creative piece on a theme which they have set out for us to focus on. The aim for this campaign is to encourage young people and raise awareness for the Better Health campaign and the aim is also to improve young people’s health and wellbeing whilst being in the campaign.
  • 3. Who is the client? The client is the NHS which is the National Health Service for the UK. The service is a government-funded medical and health service which is available to everyone that lives inside the UK and it has no cost at all. The NHS was established in 1948 and was funded by taxes and to this present day; it is still funded by taxes. The NHS has an average of one million patients every 36 hours and from a survey from April 2022, it says that there was an estimated 25 million GP appointments in England. The NHS has a lot of different services and all of these are free to everyone and some of these services include: ambulances, same day emergency care, the NHS 111 service and GP advice. One of the most important services is the NHS 111 service and this is a less urgent service than the 999 service. This service provides a connection to a nurse and from there they can be given an appointment to go into A&E, get advice and find out about different services they offer.
  • 4. Audience Research The target audience for this project is 16-20. 36.4% of people in that age range 2-4 exercise times a week and 27.3% exercise everyday. The small minority of the pie chart which is 18.2% on once a fortnight and once a month and this shows that they will need to exercise more. From my audience research it also shows that it is 50/50 on if they enjoy doing exercise. This massively helps me because it identifies that in my video I feel need to show people being happy whilst exercising. From the questionnaire that several people conducts, a minority of people said that do not feel better whilst doing exercise which is why I am creating a motivational exercise video!
  • 5. Existing media products I conducted three pieces of existing media products research and they all helped me towards gathering my idea. One that caught my eye was the Nufffield Health advert as it shows that if you keep trying and you keep trying your best to get better, you will become happier and be a better person. It also says that it can take time to get better physically and mentally but it will get better.
  • 6. Which theme am I selecting and why? For my project, I am selecting the getting active theme because from my research, it shows that only 50% of people enjoy being active and 37.5% of people do not feel better by being active. I am choosing this theme to get people to start exercising and telling them that in the end, exercise will make you a happier person if you start seeing results from it. I have also chose this theme because I believe that exercise can help you physically and mentally.
  • 7. Which two products am I selecting and why? For this project, I am choosing an tv advert and a radio advert. I will be doing a tv advert to show the benefits and what you can do for being active. Following the benefits, I will show someone being happier because they have found being active a good thing and I will show them having a good lifestyle. I am also doing a radio advert because it will be a short 30 second radio advert questioning the audience and telling THEM what to do!
  • 8. What is my idea? My idea for both my tv advert and my radio advert is being a motivational video/audio visualisation of what they need to do to be a better self and how they can be more active in their lifestyle. In my TV advert, I will have a group of people doing exercises and these will be separated by different shots. Every couple of clips, it will show a motivational word. This is meant to motivate the audience and get them to be more active! Towards the end of the video, it will show the people getting together and having a better lifestyle and this is because of exercising! In my radio advert, I will be questioning the listener and telling them what to do if they are not active. The start of the script is: “Are you active? Do you want be to active? Then simply do it. Being active will be create a better you.”.
