What are the requirements of
this brief?
For this campaign, I will be working with Canon to produce a front cover for a
magazine and an advertorial for their company. They want this campaign
theme to be ‘Journey’s’ and use this theme to emphasise on how
photography can be used creatively on its own and with other art and media.
Both will be included in the magazine and the front cover of the magazine
should be promoting the new camera.
Who is the
client?
The client is Canon which is a leading
technology company which was founded
in Japan in 1937. Canon want people to
break the boundaries with their camera,
lenses, printers and scanners. Canon
love to advance on their technology and
by advancing on their technology, they
hope to have an impact on society and
keep up to date with technology in the
current world.
Existing media
products for
Canon
I researched into 3 print/advertorial adverts from
Canon and looked into them to get research for my
idea. The print advert/advertorial that could be eye
was the one that is imaged. It suggests nothing is
impossible with a Canon camera and anything can be
taken when on a ‘Journey’. It suggests the camera has
endless possibilities. The camera shot is very
significant as it shows a wide shot behind the person
and a bit of a close up for the person doing the
activity. This suggests the camera can do anything you
want it to do. This helps me in my idea because it
shows that this person has had a journey to do this
sport and camera is capturing this journey and telling
the audience that nothing is impossible.
Audience
Feedback
On the first question, I asked how the audience
know Canon as a company. Most of them said that
they only knew that they are a camera company.
This has helped my idea of an advertorial as I will
explain more of what Canon do as a company.
On the next question for which I am presenting on
this pitch, I asked how often they use a camera.
From the graph, it shows not many people use a
camera that often so in my print advert, I will
promote one of their cameras and encourage
people to use one of their cameras.
Audience
Feedback
This question is one of my most
important questions that I asked on my
questionnaire because it gives me an
idea on how to make my print advert
attractive for my audience. The
audience has said they would like to
have eye-catching images and good
visuals to be attracted to the print
advert.
