The film Into The Darkness follows a group of teenagers who attempt to stop a violent kidnapper and murderer after he kills their best friend. The opening title sequence establishes this by showing the kidnapping and murder of a young girl from the kidnapper's point of view without explicitly showing the killing. Throughout the film, compositions use high and low angles to establish power dynamics and little lighting is used to create an atmosphere of fear of the unknown. Mysteries introduced in the opening will be answered throughout the film with twists, keeping the audience questioning until the end. The independent film is pitched for distribution by larger studios similarly to other independent horror films.
