- 2. Genre and Targetaudiences The genre for our film is going to be a psychological horror. For this we are going to have to work on the audiences feelings and fears. For our title sequence, we wont include anything too graphic, although we have based the film around the target audience of people aged 15+ as we feel we are of a similar age group, therefore we are more aware of their fears and their weaknesses and are then able to use this information to our advantage.
- 3. Budget The budget ofour film will be relatively low as the technology, equipment and scenery used throughout the making of our film, isn’t cost effected. In terms of location we haven’t a specific location as our title sequence is a montage of different images/shots.

Purpose of thesequence We intent to make the sequence play on the target audiences fears and weaknesses by getting them psychologically involved with the storyline, this means making the sequence more believable rather then fictional characters such as monsters, aliens etc. Being a psychological horror, we intend to create a fast paced and intense mood as this will set the mood for the rest of the film, this will be done through the music and the fast cuts in and out. The whole purpose of the title sequence is to give a introduction to what the film as a whole is going to be about. So, the title sequence should give the audience a taste of the mood, genre, characters, story, location, what and how. Our aim is to make the title sequence play on the target audiences fears and weaknesses by getting them psychologically involved with the storyline, this is to enhance a greater connection with the audience making them to thrive to watch on.

- 8. Practical Challenges During themaking of our title sequence we will face several practical challenges. This includes the making of our props – we intend to create the killers journal, use knives and fake blood to make the material more realistic. we plan on using a deserted shed in the middle of a horses paddock to do our photography and filming. This would include dressing the scene up in order to create the effect we’re going for, we will do this by adding our own props and set the scene ourselves. The other type of practical challenges we will face is ensuring our editing and effects we use fit the genre of our film ideas, we will do this by conveying the ideas through text, colours, imagery, music and effects.

Titles For our titleswe intend to make them part of our scene, for example we will write the titles on paper, or make them with everyday objects, then photograph or film them and edit them into our title sequence. Some examples of this are: We will use dim lighting, a old worn out journal and dark effects to convey an uncomfortable, unnatural effect to our audience.
- 10. Our Ideas All photographsused are primary images, taken from different angles and locations. We aim to use a montage of photographs in order to create out title sequence, we will include some filming to link up images and their meanings. We don’t plan on revealing a large amount of the storyline in this sequence, our aim is to leave the viewer intrigued. We will try to differentiate our sequence from the other typical horrors, for example ‘chasing’ or ‘stalking’ is used very often in horror films, and to make ours different we will need to think of another event that would build enough tension to get the viewer scared but also intrigued to watch more. Our idea for this would be to make the victim, unknowingly, walk straight into the murders trap, using things such as noises of crying children or something of the sort, to almost fool the victim into being where the killer wants them.
