Pipeline Crawling Robot for
Leakage Detection
INTRODUCTION
 Industrial ductwork has been widely used in metallurgy, petroleum,
chemical engineering, water supply and other special professions.
The formidable work environment makes pipelines easy to be
eroded or fatigued which can lead to leaking accident, so the
periodic maintenance is necessary for industrial pipelines. Absence
of fresh air makes it Impossible for humans to perform
maintenance task. As maintenance of these pipelines is nearly
impossible from outside we need a machine that can crawl inside
these long pipes
Pipeline Crawling Robot for Leakage Detection
Problem Statement: Pipelines play very important roles
for cities, industries and thus in growing economies. So leakages lead
to losses as well as are a threat because they can also lead to fire
accidents. Placing sensors at each section of pipe is very costly. So
here we propose an innovative robot that crawls inside the pipelines
and moves through the pipe to check for leakages.
Research Work
 What are the sensors used in detecting leakages easily.
 How to reduce the cost in detecting leakages.
 Done research on construction of crawling robot.
Solution
The robot consists of sensor that is used to detect leakages in
pipelines. As the robot keeps moving along the metal pipe it keeps
monitoring for any leakage, On detection it uses an interface gps
sensor to transmit location of the leakage detected over to the IOT
login system.

Technologies:
1. Internet of Things(IOT).
2. Arduino IDE.
Impacts:
 Time required to carryout the inspection is reduced, reducing
the cost.
 We can easily locate leakages.
