The climate in Portugal varies greatly from north to south. The northern regions like Minho experience cold, wet winters with frequent rain and snow in the mountains. The south, including Algarve, has a hot and dry climate with many sunny beaches that make it a popular tourist destination. The landscape and agriculture also differs between regions, with the north growing more crops and the south focused on wheat, cork production, and viticulture, especially the Port wine region of Alto Douro.
