Char Dham Yatra "Memorable India"
Situated in the state of Uttarakhand, ‘The Land of the Gods,’ is the Hindu pilgrimage circuit that is popularly known as Char Dham. Known to be the holiest and the most important of all Hindu pilgrimages, the Char Dham - literally meaning the ‘four pilgrimages’ - are tucked in the Himalayan terrain of the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. So significant is this pilgrimage that a visit to these holy sites is said to wash off all sins and promises liberation from the cycle of death and rebirth (Moksha). The Char Dham yatra begins at Yamunotri, which is at a lower altitude than the rest, proceeds to Gangotri, Kedarnath and finally concludes at Badrinath in a Parikrama or circumambulation of holy places in clockwise fashion. My photography techniques

- 2. Portrait These are my portrait images. I like these images because in each image the person has a different expression. Next time I would make sure the background was different because even though there is not anything behind them on the two left images there is a white mark on the wall which makes you focus on that instead of the person. On the other hand I like how the images are in black and white because it makes the image look more effective.
- 3. Macro These 3 pictures were the best macro images. The two images in black and white are in focus and look good but if they were colour they would have looked better because you would have been able to focus on the colours of the flower making it a more effective macro image. However the bottom right image in colour is a bit bright because of the sun, so it doesn’t make the image look as sharp as the other two images.
- 4. Architectural The two black and white images are the best out of the 3 pictures because the images are sharp and clear and look more interesting compared to the one in colour. Abstract This was the only abstract image I got, it’s out of focus to the left but is then in focus at the back on the right. The part in focus I think still works as an abstract image because of the way its been photographed.
