2. Focused I chose this one for my “focused” photo because the background and the foreground are blurred but the center of the photo is clear, which is where your eyes go because the vertical lines draw your vision to the middle.
3. Framed Shot I chose this photo as my framed shot because the glasses and the eyebrow frame in the eye. This is my cousin Riley Buisse’s eye, and she has the most amazing color of eyes. I like how you can see the detail in her eye and you almost get a sense of fear from the picture.
4. Unusual Angles I chose this photo as my “unusual angle” one because it is at such a different angle that you’re not sure what it could be. It is actually a sewer grate, but it kind of gets your imagination going, because it could be some ancient relic. The focus also adds to it, I think.
5. Using Lines There are a lot of lines in this photo, obviously the vertical ones that attract your eye, and the horizontal ones that are the bricks. I love in this photo the different color of the bricks, and the off center way the lines reach the bottom of the photo.
6. Active Space For my active space photo, I chose this one, because obviously there is active space in the photo, as you are not sure what the models could be looking at. I’m also a fan of the lighting, because the field behind them is dark and dreary, and with the light on the subjects it creates an interesting contrast. And even though the subjects have the light on them, it almost casts a rather depressing scene.
7. Rule of Thirds I think the reason I chose this as the rule of thirds photo is really obvious, because the lamp is in a third of the photo. But what drew me to the picture was the random feel to it. It’s so contrived and set up, but still has an accidental feel. Like why is the lamp there in the first place? And the angled background and foreground don’t even really apply to the lamp, because it doesn’t look crooked.
