Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. 1. Photography plan
Front cover
Dates The date for my photos will vary on when the
personnel will be available to do the shoot, I
plan to form a band and hence I need multiple
people so it will take place when I can get
everyone together, this will probably take place
from the 24-31st as it is during half term and
everyone will have more free time on their
hands.
Locations I plan to have multiple locations where I will
take photos, all will be taken in and around
March. I plan on the front cover having an
outside backdrop, I will take photos at various
outdoor locations so I have a variety to choose
from, I will take some at the park and others
near warehouses.
Props As far as props go, for the front cover, I don’t
want to include too many and take away from
the way I style my personnel, so I will probably
use them sparingly. I plan to give to give just
one member of my personnel two pairs of
drumsticks as it is obviously associated with
rock and I feel like it’s not to overpowering.
Costumes I feel like the way I style my personnel is very
important aspect for how successful my
magazine turns out, so I will need to be careful.
I plan to style them in dark colours such as
black, greys and reds. I will put them all in black
skinny jeans as many of the popular artists in
the genre rock wear them. I will also integrate
some hats, most probably a beanie as they are
popular with teens my target audience so they
will be able to appreciate it and it will appeal to
them.
Personnel I have already selected my personnel they are
school friends of mine, I chose them as I am
with them a lot and it should be fairly easy to
get them together at the same time for my
shoots. They are already a band which makes it
easier to stylise them and I will be able to use
their instruments as props for other shoots.
Equipment I won’t need that much equipment, just a good
quality camera for the front cover shoot.
2. Contents Page
Dates The date for the contents page will be the same
as the front cover for the same reason, people
will have more free time. If I get the front cover
shoot done I may try to get the contents page
pictures taken on the same day.
Locations I plan to have the photo shoot inside for the
contents page, this is so it differentiates from
the front cover, it will take place at my house in
my front room, I plan to shut curtains so the
room is dark and have some lighting shining on
the individual, this is so it sticks with the dark
theme of rock but also shows the person
clearly..
Props I plan for the props to be more evident in the
contents page, so I will give the person in my
photo an electric guitar, the instrument that is
probably most associated with rock.
Costumes I once again need to be so careful with how I
style the artist, I will stick with the dark theme
by magazine is trying to portray by keeping
black clothing.
Personnel I have someone in mind for my personnel, he is
one of my school friends once again, so it has
the same benefits. I see him every day so I can
organise dates and times easier. I have selected
him due to his long hair which I think will fit
with the style I’m trying to create and will help
with the shot angle I’m planning on taking.
Equipment I will once again need a good quality camera so
I can take a good quality photo, I will also need
strong lighting this time around.
3. Double page spread
Dates The date for the double page spread shoot will
be the 6th, the reason I have an actual date is
because its family who I’m taking the pictures
of meaning I could organise a date easier.
Locations The location will be at my family members
house, he reason for this is because they have
better lighting than me with a better backdrop
meaning it will be easier to edit the photo ad
get it to a standard that I would be happy with.
Props I am planning on taking an action shot of a
band, so I will have to have a drum kit,
microphone and various guitars.
Costumes As I’m having a live action shot of a band I need
all my personnel to look like they match and
have a certain style running through out. The
theme I’m going for is gothic, this means I need
all black clothing, dark make up and also styles
their hair In a way that matches this theme.-
Personnel The personnel for the photo shoot will be
members of my family, cousins around my age.
I chose these as it’s easy to get them together
for the shoot and they also have long hair so I
can style it as I wish.
Equipment The equipment will be pretty much the same,
lighting and a high quality camera.
The shot types I will be using for my shoot is medium close and close. This is so the reader will be
able to identify with the way I’ve styled my personnel and know the genre of my magazine from the
start. I will take some shots from right straight on, these will be the more conventional shot types,
probably for the front cover. For the double page spread, live actions shots I will take it from an
angle, probably from the side this is to give a different view, and add another perspective.
