using the light using the sparklers. Connotations could include liveliness, dynamic
anger or mixed emotions due to the colours (typically representing anger) clashing
with softer, calmer colours in the background such as blue. The silhouette of the man
creating the image could demonstrate a lack of importance of the stranger as it
directs the audience’s attention to the sparks more than the person. Initially, by
decoding the image, I can suggest that the dark background could specifically be
used in order to highlight and enhance the light coming from the sparklers which
could imply that the rest of the image is dark for a reason. Only minimal light is showing
which could indicate that there is still tranquillity, however it is overtaken by the anger
which is portrayed as a more powerful emotion in this image. The identity of the man
cannot be known as no features are identifiable which could suggest that his feelings
are shameful, therefore he does not want people to associate him with the negativity
of his emotions. Furthermore, the frantic waving of the vibrant sparklers in a circular
motion could represent the emotions of the unidentifiable man as he could be
expressing how his anger is sparking out of control, yet he is just going round in circles.
Pragmatically, the fact that the image is him with his arms still in the air could show that
he is in struggle with himself and doesn’t know when to stop, showing that he is in an
ongoing conflict consistently.

This technique consisted of a quick shutter setting which was
able to capture the movement of the dog along with the short
lasting effect it had on the water. The image could imply that the
dog is playful, adventurous and energetic as you can see by a
simple observation of the image. Notably, the background shows
an ordinary looking day which could imply that there is nothing
out of the ordinary with the image or anything in it, implying it is a
casual, everyday moment. Initially, the darkness of the dogs’ fur
colour in the foreground clashes with the peaceful colours of
blue and white in the background. The opposite colours may
cause the audience to observe the dog more than the
background as the boldness of the fur causes it to stand out. By
taking the photo while the dog is running past shows that the
dog may not acknowledge the presence of someone taking the
picture which signifies how this is the dogs normal behaviour.

9. Time Of The
Day/Weather
This image shows of rays of light shining through the clouds which
could imply that there is hope. The light breaking through the
clouds and shining brighter may imply inspirational thoughts. The
brightness of the rays illuminate some of the clouds nearest to
where the sun is rising which shows the difference light can make
when you compare the lightest coloured clouds to the darkest
ones. The long shot of the mountains show that they are black,
connoting how dark the rest of the land is without the sun. This
demonstrates how powerful the sunlight is due to the sun not being
visible but still having the power to light the sky. The fiery colours of
the clouds could signify the violence of nature, however they are
similar to the colours at the start of a rainbow which could imply
that dawn is the start of something beautiful. Dark clouds in the
background are next to the colourful clouds which may anchor
how something bad is coming to an end as there is light present.

10. Clocks
Firstly, a filter is used perhaps to demonstrate the delicacy of the
vintage items which connotes how old and precious the items
are. Furthermore, they are arranged in a neat, gentle way which
may confirm how they are well looked after, possibly implying
they are of some importance or have value from being from the
past. A close up is used to capture the detail, yet it is not too
close as we are able to see the pearls surrounding the pocket-
watch which, once again, displays the delicacy of the item.
Also, the watch is at an angle which may suggest it is generally
well looked after even when just lying around. By decoding the
image, I can conclude that the light has caused the reflective
surface to mimic a transparent image of the pearls which could
demonstrate how a copy is not worth as much as an original,
despite the similar appearances.

11. Nature
This photograph focuses on the leaves in the foreground by blurring
out the background, indicating what is in the background it is less
significant than the plant. The close up shows incredible detail of
the leaves along with a healthy green, vibrant colour. The colour
of the leaf is similar to the green colours which make up the
background, demonstrating how it may be nature related but
not as high-quality as the leaves in the foreground. Furthermore,
the single twig the leaves are growing from could signify how
much something can grow even if they have only had the same
amount of support throughout their development. The healthy
appearance of the leaf even though is only has one stem could
imply that even if there is a struggle, it is still possible to flourish and
become the beautiful piece of nature you were destined to
become. In addition, the lack of filter emphasises the natural
beauty of the leaf as it emits a bright green colour. The detail in
the picture may imply that there is a lot to know about the
simplest of things.
