Time and Place
The lighting for the time and place should have a natural lighting from the sun as I believe the setting of the play is somewhere
in mid to late afternoon. It is not quite sunny outside but it is not so dark either. The sky is just very cloudy and gloomy looking with
all the snow and dead trees which may give the effect of Also the natural lighting serves to set a light hearted beginning tone
which sets the scene before the tension later on in the play. This picture also depicts the area of which the play is taking place:
Northwestern United States during the winter.
Mood and Style


The mood and style of the play should be dimly lit at the beginning but gradually
builds up to a bright but not too bright light so that the audience can focus on the
arguments that are going on rather than something else.



The mood should start off lighthearted and later trudge into a dark tension as soon as
the arguments come out.

Visual Compositions


Visuals should have dim to bright lighting to depict when an argument is happening
and how it is happening.



It should also show the audience what the setting is like, especially since this one is
placed in the winter time.

Central Visual Image


The lighting for the central visual image should essentially cover themes of the play so
I want the lighting to be very bright and warm to hint at the love of one another’s
significant other.



The second theme of life should also reflect the same kind of lighting except the
setting should be full of life, not like the drab wintry environment we see in the play.
