These photographs depict two lamps illuminating spaces in different ways. The first shows a small lamp on a wall, reflecting weakly but reliably in the darkness. The second shows a man illuminated from behind by a reading lamp, creating high contrast and a lonely atmosphere. Both backgrounds are dark, opposite the available light. The developer aims to increase saturation, sharpen details, crop images, and blur backgrounds to focus on the lamps and subjects. They discuss using light to convey emotion and atmosphere through available illumination.

Brushstrokes of Inspiration: Four Major Influences in Victor Gilbert’s Artist...KendraJohnson54
Throughout his career, Victor Gilbert was influenced heavily by various factors, the most notable being his upbringing and the artistic movements of his time. A rich tapestry of inspirations appears in Gilbert’s work, ranging from their own experiences to the art movements of that period.
Hadj Ounis's most notable work is his sculpture titled "Metamorphosis." This piece showcases Ounis's mastery of form and texture, as he seamlessly combines metal and wood to create a dynamic and visually striking composition. The juxtaposition of the two materials creates a sense of tension and harmony, inviting viewers to contemplate the relationship between nature and industry.
3. Key words: Illumination and emotion
These two photographs are recreant that available light in a different way- shine and
atmosphere. In the first photograph, there is a lamp on the wall and a reflection of it on the
mirror. They are as similar as two faces of the human. The light bulbs covered in a glass
lampshade, and the stiffness iron wires fasten it on the wall. The design of the lamp is
archaic and evokes a sense of period. Moreover, the light is the only luminary in that area,
although it is weak and tiny, it’s reliably shining the darkness. Also, it takes from the front,
suggests that treat difficult, frustrations and problems positively.
On the other hand, the second photograph shows a man who looks down as he sits and he
against the wall as the lamp in the first photograph, though we cannot see his face. The
lamp illuminates it is around but without him since light places behind to him. There is a
high contrast between the light of the reading lamp and the men who back to the view as a
shadow. Therefore, it displays a cold and lonely atmosphere. The man enjoys the solitude of
the night alone and tries when he gets home after his hard works as “Everyone is sleeping
except me.” Only the lamp has been his a constant companion.
Similarly, the backgrounds of both photographs are dark and
opposite the available light. The lamps are outstanding for an
accord for my project. For my pictures, I use the app-Pixlr to
develop them:
• Increase the saturation of both photographs
• I use the sharpen for increasing the apparent sharpness of
the iron wires and the man’s outline.
• Crop the bottom of the first photo.
• The background of the second one is blurred for focus the
lamp and man.

4. This set of photographs is about an alone and famous Teddy bear who sits on the corner of
the table. I want to express the problem of liking new and greediness throughout these
images. My idea is that the Teddy bear stays in the corner as child discards it as a recycle
garbage. Then, I put a lampshade on its head to represents that they are same be garbage
by people.
These photographs depict a sadness fairy tale: A girl has a handmade Teddy bear from her
deceased grandmother. The girl very likes this Teddy bear, so she always brings it with her
side. However, good times do not last long. Since the time gone, the Teddy bear becomes
old, and sewing thread broken. Its cute and fluffy appearance passed. Therefore, the girl
does not like it that much as before and then she puts it in an unattended corner. Moreover,
the worst thing is that the girl gets a new toy from her parents, so she forgets that she has a
Teddy bear with full of memories from his grandmother, although it just sits in a somewhere
of her house. In this set of the photographs, I choose this photo to develop, since the angle
of it which is in a downward direction. This is because it looks down at the table like he feels
grief and heartrending about the discard, so, the Teddy bear can assimilate into the lonely
atmosphere. Furthermore, my arrangement is simple for focus on the Teddy bear and
lampshade.
Firstly, I put the Teddy bear on a corner of the clean black table and white walls, since the
contrast of color. Then, I put a table lamp behind the Teddy bear and put the lampshade on
its head. After I turn on the light, the light reflects a natural radian. At last, I try to take
photos in different angles to find out the best one. The reason why I put a lamp behind the
Teddy bear is that it is the only luminary to give a beam of light to illume, although that area
is small. It creates a high contrast of the wall which is the black and white in color.
Secondly, the Teddy bear is in front of the lamp, and its face is not bright when I take
photos. The advantage is that it gives a place to think and imagine the Teddy bear’s feeling.
Finally, I use Photoshop to adjust the color of photo in =to black and white and increase the
level of the brightness. As a result, the final piece is shipshape and balance.

5. This set of photographs taken inside the Brent Cross Shopping center, it is a ceiling
of the mall. The structure of celling is symmetrical as a cobweb, the home of the
spider, which is brittle in looking through it is indurative and flexible in fact.
Therefore, this structure can be used in the large-scale building. Besides, the
design celling is hollow and translucent so that people may be seen the sky
indistinctly. The advantages of design are cost-saving of light and maintain proper
indoor ventilation since the sunlight can pass through the ceiling in the morning.
In this development, I want to display these photographs which represent a new
idea of available light-reflection. Typically, when we think about the word
“reflection” in photography, it’s the mirror, since the dramatic and surrealist.
However, in my photographs, the reflections come from the sunlight which is
unaffected and would be different every time. So, in this time, we can see that
there is a shadow of the guardrails and the reflection of room light.
When I choose a photo to develop in this set, I want to select one picture which
shows an evident shadow reflexes by the sun. Therefore, this photograph is the
best one in my selection because the structure of photo is balance and the
exposure is enough to display all the details of celling. In the process of
Photoshop, my picture changes a small deal. I have decreased the level of contrast
because the level of exposure is high.
Development 3
6. In this development, I want to compare two photographs, both are taken in the same place- Arcelor
Mittal Orbit, but they are born in different time-morning and evening. The Arcelor Mittal Orbit is an
observation tower in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and it is Britain's most significant piece of
public art since the unique structure. When I take photos, I go around the Orbit to select the best
angles. However, I find out that its structure is ever-changing. We can see that these two photographs
are taken at different angles and distances, so they are seen as two distinct sculptures. The reason
why I take photos of the same object although different time is that I want to demonstrate the
contrast of light. My first photograph is received in the morning; the most important view is the
sunlight though it is not brilliant because it’s in the bad weather. On the other hand, my second
photograph is taken in the night, the most shining light is the LED, which is a two-lead semiconductor
light source. The red light is more vivid and outstanding than the view of the first photo. It
emphasizes that artificial light is more practical than natural light. For my achievements, I think that
the original photographs are ordinary and simple, so I like to use the skill of constitute another
picture. Therefore, I use a photo of a window where can see the outside. In my adjustment, I use the
software Photoshop to hollow out the median of the third photo. After, I put it on both other pictures
as seen the Orbit pass through the window. Nevertheless, the weakness of these photographs is their
tone. This is because I take them in the bad weather and the high humidity. If I have more time for
this project, I will retake this set of photographs in good weather.

7. My idea of this development is to enhance the sun and set golden horizons aflame. It
is different from my other event. This is because that the only light of these
photographs which is the beautiful sunlight. Sun represents life, influence, and
strength, and symbolizes energy, hope and self. Also, the sun gives impressive streaks
of light or bright orbs in photos. In my photographs, I like to add my thinking on these
points of view. My opinion is teenagers should be aspirant and positive to master
many skills and grasp the opportunities from their lives. The blue sky represents the
lengthy and hopeful lives. The sun implies the chances and changes which neither
positive or negative, so the hand hold all of them what we must be experienced. For
support my idea, my hand stretches many shapes to display the point of catching and
holding chances. The reason why I choose this photograph for my best one to
develop since the detail of sun is outstanding and clear to see. Also, there is a
geometric pattern what reflex on my hand which is without any adjustment and
Photoshop. It emphasizes a sun-drenched appearance too. On the other hand, there
is an obstacle on the right-hand side of the original photograph, so I have cropped
the edge. Moreover, I have increased the level of blue color to highlight the
happier life and a better future for everyone.
Development 5
8. This development achieved the same result by different methods with my fourth
development, and both are using two similar photographs although they are taken
on different time-morning and evening. In this development, these two
photographs are taken about Wembley Stadium station on a different day. In both
pictures, we can see that there are platforms, train tunnels and pedestrian which
overpass over the tubes. My first photograph is taken in the morning when it is
quiet, desolate and unpopulated. The color of it is white means purity and peace.
However, in my second photograph, the glow is resplendent, lively and active
although it's quiet confusion. This is because the orange light and blue light is
mixed. The warm color is too bright, and the cold color is over high contrast. As a
result, the overview is messy. Also, the pixels of it is not high enough since it is
taken by my iPad yet a high definition camera accompanies the first one. If I have
another chance, I want to retake my second photograph in good weather. When I
choose photos to develop, I feel that I need to select two photographs which are
taken in the front of the station to show its structure and the light, They display
an infinity effect of tunnels as without the end. In my adjustment, the edges of
both photographs are cropped to ignoring the useless obstacles. Then, I use the
sharpen to hone them making they look crisper. In my opinion, I like the first
photograph than the second one, since the color comes out evenly. In the match
between natural light and human-made light in pictures, the natural light is
successful.
Development 6
9. Development 7
These photographs are taken in the London Design Museum which covers
product, industrial, graphic and architectural design. In this museum. The
idea of this development is to compare with my fifth development, though
the photographs of this development display the artificial light from lighting
tubes. In this set of pictures, there is a long bench which made by woods.
The lighting tubes are designed under the seat, which manifests two lines on
the floor and the marble wall. The angle I choose is an edge of the bench, and
I put my camera on it, so it is parallel with it. Then I swivel the camera
another angle to accentuates the ideas of “infinity.” In my original
photograph, I think the light is overexposure , so I decrease the level of
brightness and contrast. Also, I increase the level of yellow color on the view
of the floor yet decrease this level on the light at the wall to change into
white color. Therefore, the line of marble wall is outstanding. I feel this final
piece depicts the style of simple which reflected the details in the design. It
is different from my fifth development since it more exquisite and austere
with cozy warmth and color. The light of this photograph is artificial. People
use lamp and lighting tube indoor since the natural light would not keep
illumining every time although it is an effective way to both decrease
buildings’ energy use. However, the light of the lamp can control its level of
exposure.
10. This set of photographs are taken in the same place as my seventh development- in London
Design Museum. There is an exhibition to show the black and white photography, the memories
invoked are priceless. In this photograph, we can see that there are an old couple who
appreciate and talk their opinion about those photographs. I imagine, a young couple together in
any year, they’ve been through many things which would be happy, sad, pain and bitter. They
never give up. Now, this couple is old but they still together with full of happiness. In my
development, it is changed into black and white color to connect the photos of the exhibition. It
connotes that they would become the past yet it is the record and preserved. In the black and
white picture, there is a high contrast between the light of the lighting tube and the photos of
the exhibition. It tells that the only company of people is the light which accompanies you
everywhere, neither I morning or night. The process of taking photos is long and lengthy since
the customers, and I come at the peak of the morning. If I need to revisit this museum, I will
come when it opens-10: 00 am.
Development 8
11. The British Museum is the oldest museum in London to dedicate human history, art, and culture in 1753s.
It witnesses the life and death of generations, contributes the ethical culture and carries the ethnic
memory. This photograph does not only about the surface of the British Museum, and its existence
personifies all the memories from the past and the hopes for the future. In this photograph, it shows that
the Reading room and the Great Court roof which is boiled in 2005 since this museum needs to update.
The Great Court roof is designed by Buro Happold, and it is tessellated with glass. The reason why the
designer uses the shape of the equilateral triangle is that its lengths are equal to transform to tidy and
different patterns. Besides, the window of Great Court is made by glass so it would reflect the shaped
roof on the window to impact the design ideas- revising old spaces and creating new spaces.Everyone can
take these photographs because it is boiled with the simple design, smooth lines display a temperament
like magnificence, mellifluous and elegance thoroughly. As a result, I only adjust the color level of the roof
close to a blue color to describe the sky. Furthermore, I have a new photograph of it which is a black and
white color to expresses that it is a link with the past.
Development 9
12. “There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people's eyes. ” from William Shakespeare. It illustrates that different readers have different
opinions about the characters of the same work. In my opinion, this idea does not only embody in writing, but it also can be used in
history. This is because the past is gone, modern people would not feel about the past and they never understand thinking from ancients
since we do not have any experience about the history.
Now, people only can speculate the history without the definitive evidence. So different people have a different opinion on the past even.
For example, some the people feel that guns should not be made since it would kill people. Nevertheless, others think that weapons
represent the power of the upper class.
History can be gone and forget. However, it also can be remembered by heart. So, I develop two photographs which one of them is a black
and white photo, and another is a color photo. The black and white picture emphasizes the shapes, textures, lines, and lighting. The light
is brighter since the black color. The color photograph is more sombre to intensify the pressure of people with emotions- pleasure, anger,
sorrow, and joy. So, it is past or existence which all up to you. Nonetheless, when I take the photoes in the British Museum, I have the
same problem when I am in the London Design Museum, there have too many customers, I stand there to waiting for a moment there is
no people because I think that people would break the emotion in my photos and become an active photograph.
Development 10
13. Light has multiple color and form; each light can
go a long way to affect the mood of photographs.
In this development, I like to change the color of
light in my pictures for creative effect. This set of
images is created from the same photo since I use
Photoshop to adjust the brightness to the sun and
the sky. Therefore, these photographs look like
they are taken at different time.
Before I adjust, I plan to make six photographs,
which represent every day. Every photo suggests a
time of day, such as 0400-early morning, 0700-
morning, 1200-noon, 1500-afternoon, 1800-
evening and 2400-midnight.
Development 11
14. In 1200, the sun rose on the top, and it’s the hottest
hour in the whole day. I want to set the color of sun
apart from this photograph and the second photograph.
This time in the original, based on the highlight and
mid-tone would increase. As a result, the sun is brilliant.
In 0400, when the sun has just risen, the sky is
azure. I use the level dialog box to adjust the
intensity of photo shadow, mid-tone, and
highlights in blue and white color for the sky and
sun.
In 0700, the sun risen above horizon and sunlight
glints. The color of the sun should be orange and
yellow, and the sky has glinted into white color.
Orange is one of the warm tones to energize people
that a new day is coming.
In 1500, afternoon, when the sun
just set, the sky gets dark. I reduce
the exposure and adjust the
shadows in grey color.
In 1800, when the sunset and
night are coming. All round is
coming dark. So, I decrease the
level of highlight and brightness.
In 2400, it tells us that one day ends, but a new day will come soon. I
change the sky into a deep blue color. To display the evening. Although
I know that we can not see the sun at night since my original
photograph is taken in the afternoon when the sun is there. However,
in this photograph, the sun is an unmistakable sign of a new day.
15. I have chosen this photograph to develop because it has the same ideas as one of the
works from my analysis – balance and symmetric. This set of pictures is taken in the V&A
museum where is the third museum I have to go, which also is my favorite museum. The
difference between my photographs and analysis is that the wine glasses of my photos
have the unique cultural value for collection. However, the wine glasses of my review is
standard to use every day now. I want to show the patterns of glass in my photos although
one of them is blurred The photograph I select to develop in the clearest one in the set.
Furthermore, I have to use the function “sharpen” to the line sharper. I like it since the
reflection of light on the glass’ surface, and it makes my photo which is more bright and
excellent gloss.
These wine glasses display in the big window of the cabinet; therefore, I take photos
through the window, there would have a reflexion of light on the window to blur my
photographs. Also, we can see the bottom of others glasses display on the top of the photo
as another reflection.
Development 12
16. The most prominent feature of this photograph is the reflection of that building. My thinking is that which one is authentic and which
one is passed. This photograph is taken in the same place as my eleventh development-V&A museum in the afternoon when the sunlight
is brilliant to shine the earth. I take photos in the balcony of the museum, and I find this landscape accidentally. The reflection image is
evident as the actual building in the photograph, so I want to use the idea of two sides of a coin. Everything is not absolute, in different
angles to face same object or thing, it would get the different view which can be positive and negative. It tells us that we should think
about different angle terrible things which would become a great thing.
In my development, I use Photoshop to create five different photos from the same photograph, each of them gives the viewers different
feelings and moods. The first photograph is a positive way to show this building since the actual color. The second and third photographs
describe in a cumbersome way since the dull color. Moreover, the last two show the opposite direction each other. In the fourth
photograph, I use the function “splash” to draw the building into black and white color. However, the reflection is changed into black and
white in the last one. These two photos introduce the idea of reality and falsity.
Development 13
17. Development 14
In this development, I want to encourage a new way to describe my project –available light,
it is the photography skill of shutter speed. There are fast shutter speed and low shutter
speed, what is the length of time that the camera shutter opens to expose light into the
camera sensor. The fast shutter speed can help to freeze action completely, as seen the third
photograph, although it is burred. It makes that the wooden statue looks like moving and
brandishing his weapon. On the other hand, slow shutter speed is used to suggest the
movement of an object in a still photograph, as seen the first and second photograph.
Nonetheless, the first photograph is taken the south stair of British Museum. There are the
watchful lions on the stairs tend as the guarded to defending their territories. For this photo,
I have elite slow shutter speed when I take, which would blur it as like twinkle with many
forms.
Similarly. My second photograph is taken in the same place as the first photo. I use the slow
shutter speed to make the lamp of celling than I move the camera down to transform the
light. As a result, the view of lamps are deformable into many flowing and fluid line. My idea
comes from one of my analysis.
In contrast, my last photograph is taken in V&A museum, it about a statue “Samson Slaying a
Philistine” by Giambologna in 1560-2. The fast shutter speed gives a life of the figure in my
photograph so that it can move and fight. The background’s light is transformed like
lightning.
