1. Teaching Philosophy
To equip the minds of those who thirst for knowledge through formal education by applying a scholarly practitioner approach
to learning that encourages the learner to incorporate his or her practical experiences and theoretical construct of the
discipline being pursued.
Business & Organizational Philosophy
To impart and apply my knowledge, skill-sets, and experience in implementing leading-edge management principles and
information technology solutions in businesses that will enhance and improve the working environment with a concern for
human factors, user experience, quality assurance and customer satisfaction.
Handling Difficult Situations (Conflicts)
In dealing with difficult situations involving either a student or a co-worker, the first thing I usually do is to get an
understanding of what may have contributed to the difficulty. By having such an understanding of the problem, I am better
able to assess and relate cause and effects. Subsequently, I am able to provide an appropriate solution. Such solutions have
included extending personal time, providing additional details or clarification, and mitigating through conflict resolution tactics
to achieve resolutions for perceived problems. I focus on arriving at outcomes amicably and without rancor.
Ethics
Whenever I am asked to carry out an unethical action, I usually explain why rules are important and what their objectives are.
I will incorporate regulations in instances in which including them helps my explanation. In addition, I will illuminate the
consequences of such actions. However, I do so with decorum and tact because my objective is not to embarrass but to
provide an understanding of why the request is unreasonable and therefore, why I may be unable to act upon such requests.
Teaching Skills
I have successfully trained students at the Bachelors level in disciplines such as Database Management Systems, Systems
Analysis & Design, Software Engineering, Operating Systems, and Ethical Legal & Social Issues in Information Technology.
Often time, wherever the choice exists, students will select my class over other lecturers teaching the course within the same
semester. I have had students switching courses in order to have me teach them a specific subject. I have the ability to
influence and to lead students in ways that encourage greater participation and output. Such student centered actions
usually result in better student performance.
Business & Organizational Skills
I have been successfully managing people, processes, and systems within the respective businesses I engaged my services.
I have substantially accomplished set organizational goals in managing systems and procedures relating to general
management, IS&T implementation, maintenance, and scalability. I am an effective business planner and finance manager
who recognizes the importance of both time and budget in accomplishing stated objectives and has repeatedly fulfilled such
expectations. In addition, I am a team player who understands the role of cooperative and collaborative work ethics in a
contemporary transformational leadership environment and in environments which are more tayloristic traditionally in their
operation.
