Editor's Notes

  • #2 My learning Preference is the Kinesthetic style.
  • #3 There are many benefits to discovering how you process information best in a academic, personal and a professional way. Some of these include: giving you a head start and maximizes your learning potential Reduces the stress and frustration of learning experiences Enables you to succeed in school Increases you self-confidence Gives you insight into your strengths, weaknesses and habits Guides you in delivering effective presentations to diverse audiences
  • #4 Kinesthetic learning involves the active, physical participation of an individual in a range of motions to acquire the comprehension and the ability of a particular concept. We are also know as Tactile learners. An interesting theory is that muscle memory is much more efficient for long term memory than visual or auditory. Kirk (1933)
  • #5 We like to be prepared for exam. We write what we want to remember We are always moving about or doing things We enjoy physical activities or sports We write things over and over again in order to not forget those things Most doodle or draw on any available paper because it helps us concentrate more. We learn better making summaries and diagrams and taking notes We don’t like to read We like examples and hands on things.
  • #6 If you’re a kinesthetic learner like me, you may find these things helpful when learning. Stand up when you're are feeling your mind start to wander. Bring a rubber band to class and wrap and unwrap it around your hand or pencil. When studying, bounce a tennis ball against the wall or floor when you're answering questions Underline, highlight or make notes while you read. Using efficient reading strategies will help you stay focused. Tense and relax your muscles during long lectures. Bounce a leg up and down to release some of the energy.
  • #7 Last semester I was in a class where my kinesthetic learning style helped me get in A in the course. My professor was all about hands on doing things, that helped concentrate and not get so bored easily. When I studied for my tests I would take plenty of notes and highlight the important information so that it would get stuck in my head and then ended up, obviously with a good grade on the test. As you could see learning about your personal learning style is relevant to success. This is one just one story and example about how my style of learning has helped me through out my college experience.
  • #8 These study tips are what I found about my learning style that I can use to my advantage. Such as: Study with examples Study with others Study with music Study with flash cards Study in short blocks between time
  • #9 In conclusion, in being a kinesthetic learner I tend to be very hands on and learn the best by experience and everything that I just explained.
