3. Symptoms
Caused by excessive
vegetative growth. Too
much fertilizer can
produce excess growth,
as can too much
pruning.
Natural Control
Decrease Nitrogen and
reduce pruning

 Susceptible in winter.
 Natural Control
 Paint trunk with white,
water-based paint, or
use a tree guard

5. Symptoms

Chilling injury can be a major
cause of deterioration of
‘Fuyu' persimmons during
marketing after exposure to
temperatures below 15°C
(59°F). Symptom
development is fastest at 5-
7°C (41-45°F) and slowest at
0°C (32°F), which is the
recommended storage and
transport temperature for
persimmons
