The movie Pearl Harbor follows the story of childhood friends Rafe and Danny who join the Navy and become pilots. Rafe falls in love with a nurse named Evelyn. On December 7, 1941 the Japanese launch a devastating surprise attack on the US naval base at Pearl Harbor, killing many Americans. The film stars Ben Affleck as Rafe, Josh Hartnett as Danny, and Kate Beckinsale as Evelyn. Though the film takes some historical liberties, it effectively portrays the bombing of Pearl Harbor and its impact on the United States' entry into World War II.

This was the most deadliest war because of the amount of civilians that were killed. In September of 1939, Germany invaded Poland. Britain and France declare war on Germany. In 9/17/1939 Red Army invades Poland in accordance with Nazi-Soviet Pact. During the six year period the Nazis began to take control of other countries. And Americans were being taken as prisoners of war. Dictator Adolf Hitler was the most powerful man in Europe at that time. And the U.S. President was Harry S. Truman. 8. I learned alot about world War II. Such as the other battles between nations and countries. And the exact dates of the major events in the war that took place from a timeline of events I found in my research. Also how the war effects changed the way of everyones lives back then. One thing that I like learning about in the wars is how people were effected from it. Which could be: A family menber who was sent off to war. A relationship between a husband and wife. Or a friendship. That is what I love about this film, it is not strictly a war film. It shows more of the personal lives during that hard time. Part 7-What I Learned
