WHAT DOES PDHPE
FOCUS ON?
• Not only does PDHPE focus on the physical side of
education but it also focuses on a child’s development.
• Offers support in areas such as personal growth and
development.
• Through PDHPE children are able to increase their
confidence to tackle any challenges and manage changes
to their body
HOW CAN WE CREATE
AWARENESS?
• Informing parents as well as staff about the benefits of
physical activity.
• Fitness should be referred to in the correct way (follow
the school’s policies)
• Teach about fundamental movement skills at the
appropriate age levels
• This involves students
learning and developing an
understanding of their own
physical, social, cognitive and
emotional development.
• All of this can be achieved
through the assistance of
PDHPE classes. Whether it be
through practical or theory
lessons.
GROWTH AND
DEVELOPMENT
CONCLUSION
Overall, whether you’re a teacher or parent you play an
important role to help children understand the importance
of physical education and wellbeing.
PDHPE enables students to take action for their own
personal health choices, whether it be hygiene, nutrition,
consumerism or daily choices that may impact them in the
future.
