Researchers at the University of Tokyo have developed a flexible fever alarm armband that incorporates organic components. The armband contains a temperature sensor, flexible solar panel, piezoelectric speaker, and power supply circuit. It sounds an alarm if it detects a rise in body temperature for continuous monitoring of vital signs like temperature and heart rate, especially useful for infant, elderly, and patient care. The organic materials allow the device to be flexible, wireless, disposable, and produced inexpensively using inkjet printing.
The weekly report summarizes progress on a multi-disciplinary workshop project. The team is working on two products: a device to measure food spoilage using pH and gas sensors, and a balancing chair for older adults. This week, the team learned about circuit design software and discussed the projects. They identified sensors to detect spoiled food and mechanical principles for a chair that assists with standing. Their weak point is sensors require contact with food. Next week, they will present the project to Toshiba.

Smart aging uses emerging smart home and health technologies to help seniors age in place, improve health outcomes, and reduce costs for both individuals and society. These technologies include wearable devices to monitor health indicators daily and share with doctors, as well as voice-controlled home devices to automate functions like lighting and temperature. Combining these allows triggers like an alarm waking a senior and automatically adjusting the home temperature. Challenges include ensuring user privacy, security, and choice in participation, but if implemented well, smart aging has the potential to meaningfully improve quality of life for seniors.
This document describes a device called PENBEAT, which is a smart pen that can monitor the user's heart rate using a sensor inside the pen. It is connected to a mobile device using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The pen is designed to notify the user via their mobile phone if their heart rate goes above or below a certain threshold, or send a message to their family members if the heart issue persists. It aims to help detect potential heart issues or attacks early. The document provides details on the design of the pen, how it works, and results from testing prototypes. It discusses the technology and approaches used, and outlines potential future work to expand the pen's capabilities.
This document proposes the development of a recreational area near a residential neighborhood. It notes there are currently no playgrounds in the area. This document describes the design of a premature baby incubator system using an ARM7 microcontroller. The system closely monitors and controls the incubator temperature, humidity, and oxygen levels to maintain an optimal environment for premature or sick newborn babies. Sensors continuously measure the temperature, humidity, and oxygen inside the incubator. If any parameter exceeds the setpoint, the microcontroller activates heaters, fans, or other components to return it to the optimal range. The low-cost system allows premature babies to be cared for even in areas without access to advanced hospital incubators.

We live in a world of Sensors. You can find different types of Sensors in our homes, offices, cars etc. working to make our lives easier by turning on the lights by detecting our presence, adjusting the room temperature, detect smoke or fire, make us delicious coffee, open garage doors as soon as our car is near the door and many other tasks.
A sensor is a device that detects the change in the environment and responds to some output on the other system. A sensor converts a physical phenomenon into a measurable analog voltage (or sometimes a digital signal) converted into a human-readable display or transmitted for reading or further processing.
The simplest example of a sensor is an LDR or a Light Dependent Resistor. It is a device, whose resistance varies according to intensity of light it is subjected to. When the light falling on an LDR is more, its resistance becomes very less and when the light is less, well, the resistance of the LDR becomes very high.
IRJET - Detection of Sleep Apnea using Pressure SensorIRJET Journal
This document describes a study that developed a system to detect sleep apnea using a pressure sensor. Sleep apnea is a common sleep disorder where breathing is interrupted during sleep and affects about 13.7% of the Indian population. The system uses a piezoresistive pressure sensor placed on the palate to detect changes in tongue pressure during sleep. The sensor data is acquired, processed using signal processing techniques, and transmitted wirelessly using an Internet of Things approach. The system provides a portable way to efficiently monitor and detect sleep apnea. The researchers conclude the system could help diagnose more people with sleep apnea and provide treatment.

The document describes an icelab facility that exposes users to cryotherapy temperatures of -166°F/-110°C. It allows users to remain at this extremely cold temperature for 1-3 minutes. At this temperature, the air volume shrinks by 45% and users inhale almost twice as much oxygen per breath compared to room temperature. Several studies have found benefits of cryotherapy such as improved athletic performance, faster recovery times for athletes, and mental stimulation. The icelab described uses a modular design and automated controls to safely achieve these cryotherapy temperatures.

1 step
7W LED
/ 30sec.
Therefore, 1foorstep makes about 7watt of light so that
14steps can make 90watt of light energy. We have LED
sensor on stair that is working by converted light energy.
We installed the system that
kinetic energy converted into light energy.
27. Stairs
considering
activity and safety
When the users use this stair, kinetic energy generates.
We installed the system that kinetic energy converted into light energy.
By generated energy, Led Seonsor worked at night
so that user can move more safe.
28. 1. Reducing pressure to the knee
2. Stabilizing the body when the elderly are climbing
3. Diagnosing the body condition
Handle
diagnosing
physical conditions
We installed handle sensor to diagnose physical conditions.
While the users are going up, users can used this sensor and
can check by smartphone application.
