Present Progressive Time Expressions are words or phrases in
sentences that indicate that the action is occurring at the
moment.
Examples:
now
right now
at this moment
just now

Spelling Rules
Rule # 1: Add -ing to the base form of most verbs.
Examples: drink-drinking
see- seeing
eat-eating
Rule # 2: If a verb ends in e, drop the e and
add -ing.
Examples: smile-smiling

Rule # 3: If a one-syllable verb ends in a consonant, a vowel, and a
consonant (CVC), double the last consonant before adding -ing.
Examples: sit-sitting

Rule # 4: In two-syllable verbs that end in a consonant, a vowel, and a
consonant (CVC), double the last consonant only if the last syllable is
stressed.
Examples: admit-admitting (last syllable is stressed)
whisper-whispering (first syllable is stressed)
