Patriotism Essay For Kids
Crafting an essay on the subject of patriotism for kids might seem like a straightforward task at
first glance, given the seemingly simple and positive nature of the topic. However, delving into
the intricacies of conveying the essence of patriotism in a way that is both engaging and
understandable for children poses its own set of challenges.
Firstly, simplifying complex concepts such as love for one's country, national pride, and civic
responsibility without oversimplifying or losing the essence can be tricky. Striking the right
balance between providing enough information to make the essay meaningful and keeping it
accessible for young minds requires thoughtful consideration.
Secondly, maintaining a tone that is both inspiring and age-appropriate is crucial. The challenge
lies in delivering a message that encourages a sense of patriotism without resorting to jingoism or
inadvertently fostering an exclusionary mindset.
Furthermore, capturing the attention of young readers necessitates creative approaches, whether
through storytelling, relatable examples, or vivid imagery. Creating an essay that not only
imparts knowledge but also instills a sense of connection to one's country demands a careful
blend of informative content and captivating narrative.
In conclusion, while the topic of patriotism for kids may seem like a simple one, the process of
composing an essay on this subject requires navigating through the complexities of language,
age-appropriate communication, and the challenge of inspiring a sense of national pride in young
hearts.

Based on the information provided by the parents, the doctor requested Milton and
Margaret complete a Modified Checklist of Autism in Toddlers (M CHAT), which is
a list of informative questions about their child. The test resulted in the doctor
requesting support from a developmental pediatrician, a neurologist, and a
psychologist. After receiving reports from all of the supporting professionals, Milton
and Margaret were officially informed that their daughter has a form of autismcalled
Asperger s. Even though they knew from birth that something was wrong, they
were shocked and relieved, simultaneously, when they received the diagnosis.
Milton stated that he felt as if he was stuck in a bad dream. They began to blame
each other. Once the blaming stopped, they were able to work together, focusing on
what was best for Marginee`. Both parents divulged that it felt like an emotional
roller coaster, vacillating between shock, relief and a host of other emotions such as,
denial, anger, and depression. At this time, Acceptance was far off . According to
research, their reaction is typical, which reveals that learning about any difficulty or
problem with your child s development can be devastating and confusing (Partington,
2015). One mother attests that the diagnosis came as a tremendous blow. Another
recalls that the day my child was diagnosed as having a disability, I was overwhelmed
and so confused that I recall little else
Analysis of the Level of Democracy of the European Union
The EU has often been indicted with having a democratic deficit due to its supposed
lack of adherence to democratic principles. In order to determine whether this is true,
and the European Union is democratic enough, it is necessary to establish the
meaning of the word democratic. Democracy can mean different things in various
contexts, often depending on the socioeconomic situation, political policies and
structures of the country in question. However, Schmitter and Karl describe
democracy as a system of governance in which rulers are held accountable for their
actions in the public realm by citizens. Beetham segregates the ideas of political
equality and popular control whilst others such as Lively have asserted that... Show

For example, a central element of a democracy is the ability for voters to change the
party or government in control; however, in the European Union, the legislature
consists of the Parliament, Commission and the Council. Considering the Parliament
is the only one which has any connection to citizen elections, any change in the
composition of the European Union would be ineffective in bringing about
substantive transformation. In addition, in comparing the EU to a traditional
democratic system in which MPs are elected by the people and responsible for the
people, in the European Union, people do not enjoy this direct representation.
Furthermore, the existence of comitology committees which contribute to the
drafting, editing and enacting of European Union laws further detach the citizens of
the EU from the decision making, leaving a large portion of European processes to be
organised by unelected committee members. The delegation of authority to expert
committees, whilst being more efficient, distances the citizen from the European
Union, making the institution much less democratic.
Andrew Moravcsik, however, comments on this, claiming that such a large scale
system of government would not possibly be able to remove distance from itself and
all of its citizens. On this account, it appears that Moravcsik is correct. However, the

The Ultimate Sport
There has always been an underdog sport that everyone said wouldn t make. Some
of the ones with the most doubt would actually become known as our Big Five ,
football, basketball, baseball, hockey and soccer. There has never been one quite like
Ultimate Frisbee. Ultimate frisbee is arguably the best sport in todays society. I
also believe it is the best sport for todays society. It has the most potential of
changing our societies point of view on violence and fun. Ultimate has what I
believe is the most power behind it because of its fans. Ultimate frisbee is one of
the greatest and fastest growing sports, it has captured the respect and approval from

First off it has the main fundamentals of soccer and football the two most famous
sports. From soccer it has the constant passing and moving of the ball/frisbee and
from football it has the field layout, catching and throwing. Its also a very active
sport that keeps you constantly moving, thinking and guessing. Probably the
greatest part is that its played with a frisbee. Frisbees can curve, roll, flip, turn,
they can go out over the crowd and then back into the game without touching
anything plus there are so many different ways to throw them that you keep the
defense constantly guessing. Then there are the highlights of ultimate the jumps,
leaps, flips, dive rolls and and sprints that leave the fans in awe. People dive up to
10 20 yards with there bodies laid out flat in the air. They jump over each other and
dive to barely catch the frisbee just centimeters off the ground. And if all that isn t
enough it is perhaps the cheapest sport all you need is a frisbee (no more than 12$),
field , and maybe a pair of cleats. And in todays society cheap is

1. Our brains are constantly developing and with technology developing almost
just as rapidly, we should be cautious of the amount of time we spend tuned in to
our devices. 2. Technology is the culprit of a new wave of mental disorders that are
developed after birth. Dr. Larry D. Rosen is a professor emeritus and is a former
chair of the Department of Psychology at California State University in Dominguez
Hills, California and is also an internationally acclaimed expert on how technology
affects the mind. Dr. Rosen lists that symptoms of an iDisorder are changes in the
way our brains process information and our abilities to connect to our environment.
C. Lastly, technology has a profound effect on our senses. 1. Dr. O.D. Sikes,
professional optometrist and chairman of the North Carolina State Optometric
Society Para Optometric Education Committee, states that twenty eight percent of
people spend ten or more hours a day in front of a digital device and that this
amount of exposure can lead to digital eye strain. 2. Technology s connection to our
brains has affected our reflexes. There have been instances where people have found
themselves trying to pinch enlarge people from a distance in real life. (Now since
we know how technology affects out impulses, let s look at how it affects our ability

What researchers has discovered is the most effective approaches is to use highly
structured environment with intensive single instruction and a high teacher to
student ratio. To address specific deficits occupational and physical therapy should be
used. The parents need to learn to give specific instruction in how to deal with
tantrums and destructive behavior and in useful techniques for keeping their children
organized and occupied so as minimize the detrimental effects on the family members.
The counseling and support for the parents with a child diagnosed with autism.
What parents need to do is learn to be the best advocate that you can be for their
child. You always need to be informed. Always take advantage of the services that
are available to you in your community. By doing this your will meet with medical

your feelings away. You need to talk about them to someone. Most parents may feel
both ambivalent and angry. This is to be expected emotions from a parent. Always
try to and direct your anger to the disorder and not toward your family or loved ones.

Erastus Deaf Smith I chose to write this essay on a famous deaf person that
completely changed the history of the United States and forever changed the
history of the state of Texas. This Deaf man could moreover be singly part of the
only reason the Texans do not speak fluent Spanish as their first language that was
born in the early part of 18th century. The reason I chose this individual is because
of my intrigue of American history, moreover, through my research I found that he
introduced a fine stock of Muley (meaning hornless) cattle from Louisiana to the
San Antonio area, where the Longhorn breed was previously popular. My intent of
this paper is to bring the history of an extraordinary Deaf man to light with his
trials and triumphs. Erastus Deaf Smith was born April 19th,1787 In New York.
From his birth or a childhood illness, Deaf Smith experienced a partial hearing loss.
It is believed that his birth was breech and from that he suffered a lifetime of health
issues and fragility. With his health problems among them he suffered was severe
lung problems most likely tuberculosis. Smith moved to Mississippi in 1817 and then
to Texasin 1821. During the time of his move to Mississippi and permanency in the
state of Texas, his health improved most likely from the change in the climates. Smith
also had the belief that eating skunk was a reason for his health improvement. After
Smith had settled into New Dewitt Colony near Gonzalez, Texas. He married Mexican

Success On The Internet Is All About Successful Marketing
A simple sales formula in conjunction with the BLM Traders Lead Generation system
will help you accomplish your marketing goals quicker than trying to do it on your
own....or by using only conventional methods of promoting!
Success on the internet is all about successful marketing. When you think about
various ways to market your product or services, you must also consider that there is
a proper sequence of events that must take place to accomplish your sales goals.
Back in the early 70 s when I was just starting to get involved in sales and sales
training, I was privileged to attend a one day training session on the proper sequence
theory. The AIDA model that was taught during that session was a simple process,
however, in my business career, this program has been very effective and profitable
for me personally.
Wikipedia...the free encyclopedia states: AIDA is an acronym used in marketingthat
describes a common list of events that are very often undergone when a person is
selling a product or service. The AIDA model guides organizations by reminding
them that any successful promotional technique must eventually lead to an action, or
the purchase of the product or service. The AIDA sequence was first published in
Strong (1925), who himself attributed the model to St Elmo Lewis (late 19th century).

Antibiotic Stewardship
Antibiotics are medicines used to treat infections or diseases caused by bacteria.
Antibiotics work by blocking vital processes in bacteria, killing the bacteria, or
stopping them from multiplying. This helps the body s natural immune system to
fight the bacteria infection. Antibiotics do not affect the quality of a beef product.
There is an upcoming issue that needs to be addressed about antibiotic resistance.
Antibiotics differ in the types of bacteriathey work against. Antibiotics that affect a
wide range of bacteria are called broad spectrum antibiotic. For nearly thirty years,
there have been quality assurance programs to help reassure farmers and ranchers are
continuously improving the way they raise beef. This includes the way antibiotics are
used to protect human health and animal health as well, otherwise known as
antibiotic stewardship. Antimicrobial stewardship is a coordinated program that
promotes the appropriate use of antimicrobials (including antibiotics), improves
patient outcomes, reduces microbial resistance, and decreases the spread of infections
caused by multidrug resistant organisms (Khabbaz ). There are some controversial...

There is no reason to overuse antibiotics. It is not against the law to overuse them but
antibiotics also are expensive for the small businessmen and women who raise cattle
for beef. All antibiotics must go through demanding government inspection before
being official for use in livestock. Animal medicine goes through three layers of
approval. Those three layers are making sure the medicine is safe for the animal, safe
for the environment, and safe for the humans who will consume the meat. Each
category must be evaluated before approval from the U.S. Food Drug Administration.
After antibiotics are sanctioned they are relentlessly managed and assessed annually.

Constitutional creation and a brief summation of the events that were taking place in
the country during that time frame. The background that they give provides a good
base for the information and allows the reader to see things through the eyes of
someone living in the time. During that period, there were many challenges facing
America at the time that would have collision on the constitutional convention and
the outcomes that would shape the country. One of them being that there was very
poor transportation routes and that adversely affected communications. For example
the authors quote The few interstate roads that existed were frequently nothing
more than mile upon mile of mud wallow, cut by hundreds of streams, creeks, and
rivers, most of which were unbridged, so they had to be forded, or crossed by ferry

challenging and time consuming for the citizens with travel and communication and
diversity was usually unfamiliar to people. At the time people also faced challenges
such as the country was divided by religion, ethics, language differences, and majorly

As in every profession, roles, responsibilities and boundaries are set in order to define

Many people think the role of a teacher is just to teach students new skills; however
the role goes much further than this, it can include assessor, verifier, advisor, record

Within this position there are naturally a huge number of responsibilities related to
each of the roles that must be undertaken. It is therefore important to be clear on

I have the task of Identifying Needs. It is important that you identify the needs of
your learners so you can design the course to reflect individual differences. Although
this is usually described as the first stage in the teaching/training cycle it is a process
that may have to be deferred until you meet your learners for the first time and
usually should be a continuing requirement throughout the learning journey. However,
some organisations interview their learners before the course, or there may be an
application process where learner needs can be identified.
The range of learner needs can be described by a variety of acronyms one of which is

Beating At The Heart Of Paradise Lost Lies A Common
Theme
Beating at the heart of Paradise Lost lies a common theme that Milton s God
controls all. He makes the best choices for man and his legion of angels due to His
omniscient presence. Stemming from this capacity to create life with an overarching
lens, He creates the most favorable outcome for his creations. Contrary to Milton s
God s all knowing perspective when creating Adam, in Frankenstein, Mary Shelley
estranges Victor Frankenstein from his humanity during his creation of his monster.
This validates that man should not play God because man does not have the vision to
fully understand his own actions, leading to chaos and violence when he attempts to
create life.
Shelley initially conveys the consequences of playing God through the ... Show more

Disparate to Milton s God, Victor cannot see his deteriorating humanity and the
consequences of his obsession to make a mummy imbued with animation . This
validates his lack of the omniscient lens Milton s God uses to create life and govern
the universe successfully, proving that a mere mortal should not play at being a
God a bit confusing clean up a bit(59). Due to Victor s morality inhibiting a fruitful
facade as Milton s God, his creation of the monster inevitability fosters
pandemonium not only in his own life, but wreaks havoc in those around him.
Specifically, the treacherous monster killing Victor s brother William by [grasping]
his throat to silence him, and in a moment he lay dead at [his] feet explicates the
brutal outcomes when the creator of life cannot visualize the effect his creation will
have on others. Victor consumed himself with this illusion of being God, blinding
himself to the monster s capacity to turn into a violent, impassioned creature whose
heart would swell with exultation and hellish triumph (153) at depriving another
being of their life. Shelley emphasizes this violence with the savage diction of
hellish triumph and swell to fully convey the spreading effect of chaos from Victor s
failed action to play God. Through the allusion to hell, Shelley also creates an image
of Victor s actions

Transculturation in Our Sister Killyjoy and Nervous Conditions
Postcolonial insights include theories of Diaspora, cultural hybridity and
transculturation. The latter, transculturation is the term used to define cultural
change induced by introduction of elements of a foreign culture. [1] The term
transculturation was first coined by
Cuban anthropologist and sociologist Fernando Ortiz in 1947 to describe the
phenomenon of merging and converging cultures.
Transculturation covers war, ethnic conflict, racism and multiculturalism, hence it is
a concept very relevant to the postcolonial period and subsequently to postcolonial
literature. When transculturation affects ethnicity the term ethnoconvergence comes

The title Nervous Conditions comes from Jean Paul Satre s introduction to Franz
Fanon s book about the psychosocial effects of colonization The Wretched of the
Earth where he says that the condition of the native is a nervous condition.[2]
Dangarembga clearly means to foreground gender as the category which determines
African women s lives and keeps them natives in relation to the dominant and
controlling power structure. Nervous conditions could also be interpreted as a
metaphor for those internalized definitions of femaleness that shape, from within
women s private and public lives. [3] The African women in the novel face racism,
sexism and oppression in their community while navigating their lives within the
margins of both traditional and Western colonial cultures. Tambu s early self
admired her educated aunt, pitied her mother who suffered from being female and
poor and uneducated and black. [4] As Dangarembga s plot shifts from Tambu s
individual rise to collective effort with all her female relatives and friends, she
acknowledges If 1 forget them, my cousin, my mother, my friends, 1 might as well
forget myself. [5] In recording these women s resistance to the patriarchy,
Dangarembga suggests that the strongest, most resilient females are not the women

Life And Death That Polish Literature
Writing thrives as a favorable way of expressing one s ideas and beliefs. Sharing
one s thoughts on paper has always been part of the role of being a writer; it serves
a purpose of writing a reflection of one s personal thoughts and opinions. From the
Medieval era to the Renaissance era, Poland is remarked as a period of change.
Poland was expanding as a country and many political events were occurring. During
this span of time, Polish literature signifies various changes in its themes, beliefs and
language all constituted with a purpose. The theme of life and death overpowers
Polish literature written during these two eras. Two pieces that demonstrate an
experience of death and how the author s worldview comes through the text are Jan...

The piece that demonstrates a wide scope of his worldview is Laments. Jan
Kochanowski expresses his despair and emotions after the loss of his child in the
form of treny. Treny are an older style of writing that praise the life and
accomplishments of those who passed, especially well known figures.
Kochanowski s Laments can be distinguished from the typical treny for the sole
reason that the subject is a child instead of a famous or intellectual individual.
However, the main character in Laments is Kochanowski himself. He plays the role
of a grieving father and author who struggles to find the value and trust in any
philosophy, religion and life itself after his daughter s death disrupted his reality. In
the article Why We Write About Grief, Oates explains that Grief is the most humane
of emotions but it is a one sided emotion; it is not reciprocated. This is exactly what
makes Laments credible for the Kochanowski s worldview through death. He
experienced it himself as a parent; one cannot simply understand how it feels to lose
a child. It is not a typical telling of a story about death; it is the dark emotions of a
mourning father. Throughout the Laments, Kochanowski intertwines the theme of
searching ways to relieve pain and his bitter reflection on death. Specifically, he
expresses a rebellion against death.

Juvenile Rights Of Juveniles
The Rights of juveniles Juveniles also have rights that look out for their best
interest. According to, Delinquency and Juvenile Justice in American Society,
Sheldon provides the rights that juveniles are granted. The supreme court ruled that
when a judge considers whether to transfer a case from juvenile court to an adult
court, a juvenile is entitled to a hearing and has the right to counsel. The court must
provide a written statement giving the reasons for the waiver, and the defense
counsel must be given access to all records and reports used in reaching the
decision to waive. Often times juveniles rights are waived or broken due to lack of
proper legal representation. (Sheldon, 2006) In the case of Gault, they argued that the
juvenile code of Arizona was unconstitutional: The justices found in favor of Gault
include (1) adequate written notice of charges, (2) the right to counsel, (3) privilege
against self incrimination, (4) the right to cross examine accusers, (5) a transcript of
the proceedings, and (6) the right to appellate review. (Gault, 2002) Nevertheless,
more recent studies indicates that the system today has failed to deliver the
procedural justice promised by gault. For example, misconduct which includes

Human Interaction with Nature in the Works of Aldo Leopold and Elizabeth Bishop
The poet Elizabeth Bishop and the naturalist Aldo Leopold share a keen power of
observation, a beautifully detailed manner of writing, a love for the beauty of nature,
and an interest in how people interact with the natural world. Like Leopold, Bishop
examines human interactions with nature on both the personal and the ecological
level. On the individual level, a hunter s contact with the animal he or she is hunting
changes his or her attitude toward nature in both Bishop s poem The Fish and
Leopold s essay Thinking Like a Mountain. On the larger level, both Bishop in her
poem The Mountain and Leopold throughout the Sand County Almanac envision the

For both narrators, this lack of emotional connection changes when they notice
some striking detail about the wolf or fish which awakens them to the symbolic
value of the animal and transforms their way of relating to nature. Leopold sees a
fierce green fire dying (130) in the eyes of the wolf and senses that his neat
equation of fewer wolves equals more deer is inadequate, and that wolves have an
importance unknown to him. He goes on to develop a new conservation ethic, one
that values wolves as well as deer and protects wild animals for their own sake and
that of the ecosystem, not just for the pleasure of hunters. Bishop s speaker notices
five fishhooks dangling from the fish s mouth and realizes how many times the fish
has battled for its life and won. Its fighting spirit earns her respect and causes her to
release the fish.
The particular symbolic value that each writer finds in the wild animal is evident in
his or her beautifully poetic descriptions of the animal. Each admires the animal for
its undaunted courage in the face of a harsh existence. Bishop repeatedly uses words
and images which personify the fish as a wise old warrior: the fish is battered and

experiences that may become obstacles or barriers they must overcome before

sense of self and others. Willy Russell s play, Educating Rita explores obstacles as
Rita transitions from an uneducated class to the educated and how it impacts her

Violence And Death In Romeo And Juliet
Is Romeo and Juliet a Shakesperian play full of love at first sight or just rash and
consequential decisions? In this play we meet two star crossed lovers who meet at
a party on one night and then, almost instataneously, plegde themselves for each
other and plan to marry, which then leads to six people dying including themselves.
Romeo and Juliet should have taken it slow with their affairs in order to eliminate
the violence and death that ensued from them falling in love, encourage a
healthier road to peace in order to unite both families, and to better encourage a
more joyful relationship, as mentioned by Friar Lurence. Juliet and Romeo s love
at first sight isn t as sweet as it first seems, as it leads into their own and three other
character s,Tybalt, Paris, Lady Montague and Mercutio, deaths. O Romeo, Romeo,
brave Mercutio s dead!...This shall determine that .They fight; TYBALT falls (I,i,78
93). Mercutio is slain by Tybalt, which is then slain by Romeo. If Romeo had not
been married to Juliet things might have turned out differently for both characters. If
Romeo had been less haste, the chances of this brawl of ever ocurring in the first
place would have been much lower, thus saving the lives of two very important
characters of this play. Both families have been at... Show more content on

When these two characters fall in love, they rush themselves to marry without
consulting their parents directly or taking in the fact that their families are at war ,
which they should have since this eventually leads to several deaths, including

completely irrational and spontaneous, but instead everything, including love, should
be taken with moderation, or else the consequenses might not be ideal as we see in

Today, nearly 250 million children about 40% of the world s children, can t read a

problem. She recently became an activist after giving up her job revolving around

Her blog describes her everyday life and experiences and ways she decides to help

her to talk about on her blog, however she uses them as examples on how you can
still be an activist from home. One of the things she does with her kids in the
winter when many find it difficult to help others because they are trapped inside
the house are called Snow Day Activities. When her and her kids can t go outside
because of the snow, they stay inside and make use of any way to help the
impoverished. They go through stuff to pick out things to donate, write letters or
draw pictures to kids or families in poverty, and even write encouraging statements,
hashtags, or logos to promote the cause by posting on social media ( Anti Poverty

How Does The Economy Affect The Australian Economy
The Australian economy can both have positive and negative affects on FASTA. To
start, in reference to Reserve Bank Australia, the inflation rate is 1.9%, employment
growth is 3.0%, cash rate is 4%, GDP growth rate is 3.5%, wage growth is 2.1%,
average weekly earnings are $1,192.00, and finally the Australian dollar equals $0.75
US dollars. In analysis, the inflationrate, cash rate, wage growth and employment
growth are beneficial to the business since the businesses expenses aren t as high as it
would be if the Australian economywas booming. As an effect this will cause
FASTA to be able to have expansion and improvements such as, more efficient
machinery at a lower cost, while also reducing the amount to be expended on
operational expenses. However, the main negative effect of the Australian economy
on FASTA is the decrease in sales due to the customers struggling to afford products.
While other outcomes include, the increased cost of imports, the decrease in the
value of exports, and the more accounts receivable due to low interest rates. Now it is
important to discuss strategies that FASTA can use too cope with the periodic
economic conditions and to make the most benefit out of the advantages of the
economy.

Suspense In The Film Rear Window
Hitchcock uses many techniques throughout the film Rear Window to convey
suspense. The major theme of the film regards Jefferies voyeurism. His intrigue in
the everyday lives of his neighbours is viewed as intrusive and morally wrong on
principle. However, without this voyeuristic tendency the crime committed by
Thornwald would never have been solved. Thus, the audience is lead through
emotional turmoil in questioning whether it is wrong to invade someone s privacy,
or just and heroic to solve a crime. We see the climax of the film when Lisa and
Stella venture out of Jefferies apartmentto investigate the murder of Mrs Thornwald.
This leads to a confrontation between Thornwald and Jefferies. These scenes build
suspense through the use of detachment, the use of split screen , red herring plot
devices, lighting, music and diegetic sound.
In Hitchcock s Rear Window Jefferies apartment is the sole viewpoint to the outside
world for the audience. We rarely see anything that isn t from Jefferies immediate
surroundings or directly from his point of view. This gives Jefferies, and in turn the
viewers, a detached sense of realism from the world of the apartment complex
opposite. This detachment is apparent to throughout the movie as many characters
state to Jefferies that what he s doing is morally wrong. However, the line of moral
and immoral conduct is pushed as Jefferies continues to watch his neighbours and
ultimately becomes directly involved in the plot which he had
Voluntary Services In Non-Profit Organizations
You have brought many important points to this week s discussion, and I agree with
majority of them; in particular your argument regarding communication. I render
voluntary services in a non profit organization for many years; I have witnessed how
changes are implemented right away. Although that these changes have been
analyzed by the leaders and most experienced individuals in the organization,
volunteers often are not acquainted of these changes until leaders announce the
changes. Despite changes usually lead to the organization improvement, ineffective
communication channels leaves a bad taste among the workforce. Almost all changes
in the workplace cause uncertainty since most employees may question their ability
to adjust to them (self efficacy).
The Effect Of Solar Flares On Our Future Essay
Possibly the most dramatic event that occurs within our solar system is the solar
flare. Scientists have spent much time studying this solar phenomenon attempting to
learn how to predict them. This in turn has caused a significant increase in
understanding the anatomy of solar flares to include the phases of flares and what
they emit. Bringing things closer to Earth, the emissions of solar flares can have a
significant impact in today s technological world. By far, the largest impact of solar
flares to our technology is radio blackouts. The emissions of solar flares cause
scintillation to occur in the ionosphereeffectively blocking long distance
transmissions. Solar flares are excessively bright and powerful and so deserve our
attention not only from a scientific standpoint, but a societal standpoint as we rely
more and more on our technology.
Currently, scientists do not fully understand why and how solar flares occur.
However, they have and continue to perform research into how the Sun creates solar
flares. As scientists understood it now, solar flares occur in relation to the magnetic
fields of the Sun.1 These magnetic fields continuously shift and twist around. They
believe the movement of the magnetic fields causes a buildup of energy which results
in a solar flare, but scientists have not been able to sufficiently explain how the
mechanism works.2
Our lack of understanding solar flare physics makes predicting a solar flare tricky so
we must rely on past observations.
History of Tango Essay
The man and woman face each other, with the man holding the woman s right hand
in his left, and with his right arm around her. The Tango is the third dance to use
this hold for couple dancing. The Viennese Waltz is the first dance done in this
couple hold. It was very popular in Europe in the 1830 s. Couple dancing before the
Viennese Waltz was very formal and did not involve a lot of physical contact just
mainly holding hands. About 10 years after the Viennese Waltz came the Polka. Also
taking Europe by storm, the Polka became the newest craze to use this scandalous
new hold. Tango was extremely different from anything that came before it, and was
the biggest influence on all couple dancing in the Twentieth Century. The story of...

(known as tan go); the popular music of the pampas (flatlands) known as the
milonga, which combined Indian rhythms with the music of early Spanish colonists;
and other influences, including Latin. Some say the word tango comes from the
Latin word tangere (to touch.) It was the dance of sorrow. It speaks with body
language. More then just frustrated love, it is also said to speak of death and pain. It
was the perfect dance for social outcasts; it epitomized their feelings about their life.
The act in the Tango was originally intended to be for a prostitute and her pimp.
Even some titles in the tango referred to characters in the world of prostitution.
Other acts were for two men to fight for the love of a woman where it would always
end in death. The tango was very sexual and violent, not literally but that s what it
was intended to mean.
In 1912 the lower classes were allowed to vote because of the universal suffrage law
in Argentina. The lower class saw to legitimize many of its cultures mainstream,
including the Tango. It was still seen as an obscene dance during this time. When

Plato s Simile Of The Cave
Imagine living in a world of false impressions, of course how would know that they
were living in a world of lies. They would probably believe that every action
performed by their senses were true. Plato s Simile of the Cave sheds light on this
this idea which is also adapted by the 1999 movie by Andy Wachowski Lana
Wachowski, The Matrix. Both works have allegorical meanings which explains how
people are trapped by some sort of limitations they have which could also serve as
a deterrent to their further understanding. This movie The Matrix shares a common
philosophical basis with Plato s Simile of the Cave. First, Plato argues that the
mind is susceptible to false ideas because of the limitations of our senses. This is
shown in the conversation between Socrates, a speaker in his allegory, and
Glaucon, the second speaker. Socrates explains to Glaucon that the prisoners in
Plato s metaphorical cave are bound to assume that the shadows thrown on the
wall, by the fire, are real and that the objects held by the passers by, walking along
the road, belong to the shadows. And so in every way they would believe that the
shadows of the objects we mentioned were the whole truth. (Plato, 26). Plato
believes that the world perceived through our senses is not a real world, but a poor
copy of it. This prisoners do not know that they are prisoners, which makes them to
be completely unaware that the reality they know is false. In similar fashion, his
claim shares a common

There were four inventions that changed manufacturing and the way people worked.
Some inventions included the spinning Jenny, Crompton s Mule, and the Self acting

called it the spinning jenny in honor of his wife. This simple machine allowed one

With the development of cities the working class ended up living in low income
slums. Friedrich Engels stated in The Condition of the Working Class in England,
Every great town had one or more slums areas into which the working class are

infected water and poor ventilation, which effected the life span of the people.
Living with the poor condition meant that they were prone to get sick. As Edwin

Formal Education In Porirua Friday Night By Sam Hunt
In the poem, Porirua Friday Night by Sam Hunt, there is an important idea. An
important idea addressed in this poem is the importance of formal education. Porirua
Friday Night is about a young teenage girl from the perspective of the man in the
poem. Formal education is important to teenagers because it will help their wellbeing
and help them succeed later in life.
An important idea in the poem is formal education. Formal education is education
based inside a classroom, taught by trained teachers and is systematic. This idea of
formal education is apparent in this text as it says certain phrases such as A year
ago, she s now left school meaning that she dropped out of school a year prior to
when this poem took place and multiple quotes indicating that she is a teenager or
she is of young age such as; Acne blossoms scarlet on their cheeks , Fourteen when
I met her first and Pinned across this young girl s breast . Also, the idea of formal
education is apparent in the setting and in the title as it sets place in Porirua, a town
of low socioeconomic status meaning that the residents there have low income and
perhaps discontinuing can be a common occurrence with can explain the low
socioeconomic status with not many people having a high source of income. Being
a student partaking in formal education, I am able to relate to this idea as I like the
idea of formal education as it helps us to learn better and more clear with experienced
teachers and the environment the
Symbolism In Citizen Kane
In Citizen Kane, a wealthy newspaper tycoon named Charles Foster Kane dies a
solitary death in his sprawling estate Xanadu. In an attempt to discover just who this
legendary yet private individual was, a journalist named Jerry Thompson is tasked
with discovering the meaning behind his final words: Rosebud. Although Thompson
interviews many of the people who the public considered close to Kane including
friends, ex lovers, and the memoirs of his childhood guardian, he never truly

Rosebud, Thompson concludes that you cannot sum up the life of a man with just a

The conflicting memories of those close to Kane help the spectator understand
why Kane was so lonely. Kane s desire for companionship is represented in the film
by the presence of statues. The people he tried to get close to always left him, even
his ex wife for whom he built the monstrous Xanadu. Kane buys so many statues in
his desperation, because they appear human yet cannot leave. These statutes serve
as a motif signifying Kane s loneliness and how he attempted to use his money to
get people to stay in his life. In the closing moments of the film, vast rooms
brimming with boxes full of junk, many of which remain unopened, intermingle
with statues and help convey just how far Kane s obsession went, and how
unfulfilled his life was. A large portion of Kane s issues stemmed from how he was
separated from his parents in his youth. First seen innocently playing in the snow
during the memoirs of Thatcher, his world is turned upside down with the
revelation that he is leaving his old life behind to become educated under the
guidance of his new guardian. The sled he is playing with and the setting in which
he was playing become a turning point in his life. At the end of the film, burning in
a furnace with the rest of Kane s possessions, Rosebud is shown to be the sled that
Kane was using during that snowy day when his life was changed forever. Rosebud
was the sled that Kane used to try and push away Thatcher,
Short Term Memory Improvement Techniques
Memory improvement techniques are a great help to those of us who suffer from
forgetfulness and the resulting chaos in our daily lives. Memory can be defined as
the ability to store, retain, and recall information and experiences. This ability to
connect individual incidents, names, faces and locations in the context of time and to
bring them together in a cohesive whole in the shape of memories is essential to
living a full and satisfying life.
Memory Systems and Processes
The brain has three main memory systems: sensory memory, short term memory and
long term memory. Sensory memory refers to the ability to accurately retain sensory
impressions (visual, auditory and so on) on a short term basis. The capacity of

In Chunking, a person organizes material into meaningful groups so that they are
more easily recallable.
* For example, when attempting to remember a phone number, rather than trying to
remember the entire string of 10 digits, you can group the digits into three chunks:
the area code, a three digit chunk and lastly a four digit chunk. With constant practice
and the usage of existing information in long term memory, chunking can greatly
improve the short term memory.
* Short term memory improvement exercises: these are simple, fun exercises that act
as a sort of memory workout. They help maintain your existing memory levels and
also prevent further memory loss.
* For instance, play a simple game of match up. Match up is an easy single player
memory game involving 20 to 40 matched pairs of cards. The game involves
shuffling the cards and laying them face down on a table in rows. Once the cards
are laid out, flip over a card and try to find its match. If no match is found, flip both
cards back, memorize their positions and try again. Continue this process until you
have matched up all the
Justice System And The United States
In a case there are three sides, the defendants, the plaintiffs and the truth. Often
times the truth may be hard to find but when it is available, justice should be
served. That is where the justice system comes in and their job is suppose to allow
justice to be served. Over the years, the criminal justice system has lacked in that
area according to almost half of the United States citizens. Many may ask the
question, why? , but there is no definite answer for why the justice system has lacked
in its area of justice. The real question is, how? How can this be changed? That is the
question many American Citizens are asking. The American justice system is lacking
in the area of justice in many ways. The United States has a Constitution that protects
its citizens from abuse in the criminal justicesystem. The right to a trial, to fair
treatment by law enforcement are enshrined. Importantly, the Eighth Amendment also
protects those convicted from cruel and unusual punishment. In spite of all this, the
American penal system is broken in many ways. Examples of this happening
throughout the United States are unfair punishments, prisonhealth care and sentencing
young children life in prison without parole.
The Justice system has been well known for its unfair rulings lately and that is just
sad. This is nothing new to society but it is a serious problem that needs to be fixed.
An example of unfair ruling and unfair trial would be the Scopes trial. This is a trial

The Benefits Of Animal Assisted Therapy

A simple definition of animal assisted therapy or AAT is therapy with animals
(commonly cats or dogs) as a form of treatment. According to Rodriguez (2016) in her

In terms of specific mental health benefits, studies in the last few years have shown
that AAT may improve outcomes and reduce various symptoms for people with
depression, anxiety, dementia, loneliness and more. It has been found to be effective
across multiple settings and demographics, including autistic children in the

temperature in Antarctica, which is minus 58 degrees Fahrenheit! Off land,
penguins are incredibly graceful and fast. They can travel as fast as 11 to 15 miles
per hour. Their shape, feet and wings make it all
Beatles Love Songs
I am a big fan of Beatles, and I have taken Beatles music class in college. The songs
written by Lennon McCartney never fail to fascinate me. Their songs have been
always unique and interesting not just because of the pleasing rhythm but also
because of the themes disclosed in each song. Different songs disclose different
themes in Beatles different period. In the early stage, Lennon and McCartney
wrote many love songs that drove many teenagers crazy, such as All My Loving,
And I Love Her, and Can t Buy Me Love. Also, they wrote many songs for many
movies, where they were also involved in the movies as actors. Those songs
include I Am the Walrus and Yellow Submarine. In the late stage, they had many
great songs that disclose their minds and ideas towards different subjects, such as
the world and the band itself. When John Lennon felt worried about the
contemporary world because of the fact many people were suffered from war, he
wrote the song Imagine. When the band realized that they would soon break up,
they wrote Let It Be. Their songs have been great because Beatles were the symbol
of the era. I found the song Imagine still relevant today. Today, there are war, there
are hunger, and there are disaster; it looks like the world does not get better after
Lennon passed away. However, the song still influences people in the way the world
as a whole should peaceful. The Rolling Stones is one of the most well known band
in the history. It cannot be denied that the
Remember The Titans Theme
The theme of Remember the Titans is what is on the inside is more important than
what is on the outside. At first, all that anyone cared about was whether or not you
were white. In the movie, Julius said to a white guy what are you doing here you
should be their, with your people. This shows that even though he was being nice
and sitting with them Julius got mad because of what the whites have done in the
past to him and to his now dead friend. Later, even though the team has learned to
accept each other that bond is being broken by the town that can t accept what they
have gone through. Berry s mom doesn t like Berry hanging around Julius, so she
makes him go to church with her instead of going to play basketball with Julius.

Benefits Of Juvenile Detention Centers
Most detention centers do not have an adequate environment for juveniles to change
their ways and become useful members of society. Some juvenile offenders never
leave a life of crime, even though they were reformed at a detention center. Though
the stated aim of secure juvenile facilities is reform, the data does not lie: detainees
and minors committed to a detention center are more likely than non detainees to be
arrested as an adult ( Make Sure You Know The Juvenile Detention Statistics and
Trends ). As such, if juveniles getting released from detention centers are going to get
arrested as an adult, then the centers are not doing their job of making them better
members of society. Not only do juveniles get sent back, but if the offender

Tinker Tailor s Home Security Service, LLC (LLC)Liability: Members of an LLC
enjoy limited liability for the debts and obligations of the business, including liability
for the unlawful acts of other members and employees.
Sole Proprietorship. In comparison and contrast, the liability exposure associated
with the various forms of business organizational structure is important to each
business owner; before beginning their business venture. The sole proprietor does
not have to ask for anyone s permission, wait for votes or meetings, or seek others
approval (Seaquist, 2012). For example, a sole proprietorship offers autonomy and
freedom from vicarious liability of co owners. In a sole proprietorship of the Tinker
and Taylor s Home Security Service, it is difficult to limit one s liability. In a sole
proprietorship the owner of the business is liable for all damages incurred and said
owners personal assets are not protected from lawsuit.
The sole proprietor and the business are one in the same with regard to liability. The
sole proprietorship is not recognized as a separate entity from its owner; as a
consequence, the debts of the business are deemed to be the personal debts of the
owner, and the sole proprietor has unlimited personal liability for all the debts,
contractual obligations, and legal judgments the business incurs (Seaquist,
2012).However, just as important as the autonomy, the sole proprietorship permits the

Asme Research Paper Benefits
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers is a world wide organization that
connects mechanical engineers with each other as well as with students. With
extensive benefits to student members, the ASME provides an extensive amount of
tools to help students gain skills and practical experiences inside as well as outside of
the engineeringclassrooms. The field of engineering is a field in which collaboration
is essential to solve problems, which is what engineering is, solving problems in
which the solutions advance our society. The organization of ASME provides just
that bridge that allows professional engineers to collaborate together in solving
complex problems. Not only are professional members able to connect with each

Professional members are able to network with professionals such as themselves.
The professional members who benefit most from ASME are the members who are
early career professionals. Early career members benefit most due to the fact they are
connected with engineers who have more experience in their field and can learn more
from them. Professional engineers are also able to access the same information as
student members, which is just another tool professional engineers can use in
advancing their own
Technology In Bram Stoker s Dracula
While thought of as an improvement to human society, science also makes humans
more close minded. In Bram Stoker s Dracula, technology plays an important role in
the Victorian society. For example, there are trains, phonographs, typewriters, and
telegraphs. Trains are the main use of travel and telegraphs allow the characters to
send each other short messages. In fact, the story itself has diary entries made by
Mina s typewriter or Dr. Seward s phonograph that records his voice in wax cylinders.
Also, the new medical concept of blood transfusions play an important aspect in the
story. With these advancement of technology, the Victorian mindset leans more
towards science and logic. This conflicts with Dracula, who symbolizes the

To defeat and ward off vampires, religious items such as the Host and crucifix are
shown as the main weaponry. Not only does the crucifix that the hotel landlady
gave to Jonathan protects him during his stay in Dracula s castle, the Host and
garlic disables Dracula s earth boxes from use. Van Helsing distributes religious
items when the men first go to scout Dracula s house in Whitby near the asylum.
Along with these religious items, the men also use knives and wooden stakes to
defeat the vampires. A wooden stake to the heart and the dismemberment of the
head proves to be the only way to kill a vampire. For example, Vampire Lucy dies
only through this method, no matter how vile and difficult the act can be. As he
watches, Dr. Seward states, Arthur placed the point over the heart, and as I looked I
could see its dint in the white flesh. Then he struck with all his might (Stoker 231).
The wooden stake through the heart kills vampire Lucy and purifies her, although
blood foaming from the mouth and vicious spasms accompanies it. Along with the
dismemberment of her head, these methods of killing are barbaric and primitive.
However, this method of killing also extends to Dracula
Hairtyle Definition
Proportion is the comparative relationship of one thing to another. A well chosen
hairstyle can create the illusion of better proportion. It is essential when designing a
hairstyle to take into account the client s body shape and size. Challenges in body
proportion become more obvious if the hair form is too small or too large. A general
guide for classic proportion is that the hairshould not be wider than the center of the
shoulders, regardless of the body structure.
Proportion is also defined as any portion or part in relation to the whole. No one
certain feature or style produces beauty but rather the relationship or harmony created
when all components come together into a total image. Why does a hairstyle, for

Many have a side of the face that appears heavier. Many have one eye that is
slightly smaller or one flare of the nose that is slightly larger. And so, adaptability
becomes the first design consideration. During your client consultation, take the
time to make notations of the asymmetry to the face. If we design the hair towards
the low side of the face, we will accentuate it. If we duplicate the head form with
either fullness or the lack thereof, we emphasize it. Feel the bones of the head and
take note of the growth patterns in the outer and inner perimeters. Remember that
the outer perimeter creates the strongest influence to the features. Be very careful
about the hair that touches the face. Will it point to an unflattering feature, such as
a pointed nose? If there is a protrusion of the frontal bone, the fringe area will lift
and dry shorter than anticipated. We have found that working with two mirrors is
of tremendous benefit: one for the frontal view and one for the profile. Watch that
you do not accentuate a poor profile with an extension in that area. The mirrors will
tell you things that the eye cannot see directly. In addition, using a haircutting chair
gives the best view of the back and sides of the head because you are looking
directly into them. If you are looking down at the hairline, your vision is altered.

Was Jim Jones Good Or Bad
Jim Jones did a lot that seemed good in his life (Merlot). He worked with people of
all different backgrounds to make their lives better and wanted to solve social
problems. He spoke against the racist stereotype of the white man and towards the
new idea of a united racial group. Jones also did a lot of bad in his life. Jim Joneswas
the craziest religious fanatic to live during the 20th century because he
brainwashed most of his followers, abused his power, and led the largest mass
murder for that decade in a single event. Jones was born to a poor family in 1931 in
Crete, Indiana. His father was an alcoholic who had trouble keeping a job and a
racist who associated with the KKK. Jim Jones cruelty was seen in his childhood

We were told that we would be tortured by mercenaries were we taken alive.
Everyone, including the children was told to line up. As we passed through the

Creationism Vs Evolution Essay
Evolution and Creation: The Truth Unfolding Evolution has been a vigorous topic of
debate between creationists and evolutionists since Darwin first composed the idea.
These debates rarely end with a compromise, but instead leave the theistic and
atheistic worldviews tremendously segregated. There is evidence for both sides, and
it often comes down to which side can present the most conclusive details.
Evolutionists argue that science can not prove of intelligent design, while creationists
argue that science is inconceivable without it. However, is there the possibility of
intelligent design with microevolution and mutation? Evolutionand her evidences can
be investigated to discover mutations and natural selection that may have taken place
over history, as well as evidence directing to a design. Evolution is the theory that
every organic thing has originated from a single living organism. Evolutionary
principles are widely accepted... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The difference is in the thinking of an organism s genetic origin. Creationists believe
that this genetic information originated through an intelligent design and gene
recombination, while evolutionists believe that it has stemmed from small gene
mutations and natural selection (Natural Selection). Evolutionists and creationists
often have no difficulty agreeing on natural selection leading to microevolution, but
there are discrepancies when it comes to macroevolution. Creationists agree that
microevolution could have caused slight changes to the appearance of a species, but
they do not accept the idea that slight mutations have lead to large evolutionary
changes as evolutionists have proposed. According to evolutionists, macroevolution
could have taken place with the right amount of time and the correct circumstances,
leading to the development of different species and one common ancestor
The Effects Of Peat Land On The Environment, Politics,

1. Introduction Nowadays, forest is the most renewable natural resources in the
world. One of them is peat land. According to Wetlands International (2014, p. 1)
shows the theory that Peat land is wetlands with a thick organic soil layer (peat)
made up from dead and decaying plant materials . In Indonesia, it can be found in
many places around the world. The peat land area spread through the Indonesian
islands such as Riau, Sumatra and Kalimantan or Borneo. Hence, people should start
to give their attention to peat lands because it is accumulating more carbon than
tropical rainforests that directly be perceived by some neighbor countries near
Indonesia. From this information, we can see that peat land has an important role in
keeping gas emissions from human activity. This report elaborates the peat lands
issue and examines the impact on economic, environment, politics and law and
international issues. The investigations will be focusing on peat land problems in
Indonesia. 2. Explanation of the Peat Land Fire Peat land in Indonesia performs a
range of environmental and social functions. Equally important, peat land really
useful sources for human, animal, and plant. It can be utilized as animal and plant

First Triumvirate Essay
Cassus, Pompey, and Caesar all got together and made the first triumvirate because
they all had claims to the throne, and splitting power equally solved many disputes.
However, the First Triumvirate worked mostly behind the scenes. Crassus and
Pompey both died, leaving Caesar in charge of all of the Roman Empire. After
Caesar was assassinated, Pompey and Cassus were both sent to war and killed
abroad. The Second Triumvirate was made of Octavian, Marc Antony, and Lepidus.
These three men were pretty much emperors and were given highest power. Marc
Antony fell in love with Cleopatra VII, and he moved to Alexandria to be with her.
The Triumvirate then split the Roman Empire into three: Octavian took the West,
Antony took the East, and Lepidus made do... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Most higher offices were held by the patricians, or the aristocrats. Several offices
were open to the plebs, however. Tribunes were officials elected to represent the
plebians under the magistrates. The office of aedile (the person who maintained
public buildings and organized festivals) was also an option. A pleb could also
become a praetor (a general and mayor rolled into one) or a quaestor (a financial
supervisor). However, you couldn t just be elected into any given office with no
experience. The cursus honorum was a system that allowed you to advance through
the ranks, kind of like how American presidents are usually governors, then senators,
and then elected president. However, success could be dangerous in Roman politics.
The Gracchi were two brothers who were both elected to be tribunes, and they tried
to pass legislation to take wrongfully acquired land from the patricians, and put it
back in the hands of the original plebian owners. Both brothers were assassinated for

Stonebridge Road and Stonebridge Road Extension intersection on the east side of

As told by Mrs. Keuver, the restaurant s specialty dish was German sauerbraten.
Marilee said that many Irishmen would come in early Sunday morning, smelling

and make people wait outside for an available table because the restaurant would

The study examines the moderating effect of CEO tenure and managerial experience
on firm specific determinants of corporate cash holdings among private
manufacturing firms in Kenya. The research employed the upper echelons theory to
identify CEO characteristics that are linked to various organizational processes and
outcomes such as cash holding. This survey based study selected a sample of 156
private manufacturing firms from the firms registered with the KAM that are located
in Nairobi and surrounding area using stratified random sampling technique. The
research collected primary data using self administered questionnaires to gather self
reported financial measures from the CFOs. The study employed stepwise multiple
regression analysis to determine the moderating effect of CEO tenure and managerial
experience on independent and dependent variables. The study concludes that the
CEO tenure significantly moderates firm size, growth opportunities, and likelihood of
financial distress as determinants of corporate cash holdings. Further, the study
concludes that CEO managerial experience in other industries significantly moderates
firm size and cash flow volatility determinants of corporate cash holdings among
private manufacturing firms in Kenya.

African American And Maroonon Communities
Maroon societies are groups shaped by runaway slaves in the Caribbean, Latin
America, and the United States of America. These different societies varied from
small communities that lasted a little less than a year to more prosperous
communities holstering thousands of members and existing for generations and
centuries. Maroon communities were places where runaway slaves could find safety,
shelter, food, and support. Running away was a crime back in those days and
therefore, if caught could result in severe punishment, being returned to its owner, or
death. The maroons in the Revolutionary period was from 1775 1783. Enslaved
Africans escaped into the American wild to outline their own distinctive gatherings a

This was one of the first major steps that African Americans took towards helping
each other make a better life for themselves. These communities however, were not
unknown to the public. Many people knew of them and many Americans were not
fond of these treacherous acts that they were committing. Being a slave was
equivalent to being property, leaving your owner was a series crime and was not
handled lightly under the laws of the state and the United States as a whole.
Therefore they had to go through many hardships that threatened the success of
their established communities. These hardships, as aforementioned resulted in
severe punishment, being returned to its owner, or death. Although they knew
what the consequences could possibly be, that still did not stop their drive to seek
out a better life for themselves, their families, and generations to come. For me,
learning about these communities has really helped to open up my eyes on some
of the tactics that my ancestors had to use in order to ensure that one day their
people would have a better life. This will always stick with me when I am faced
with tough decisions, and are aware that there is a better plan in store, to always put
my best foot forward and no matter the consequence, fight for what I know is right
and what I know I deserve. A maroon community signifies for me the first steps to
demanding freedom. The first steps to ensuring brotherhood and sisterhood by any
means necessary. Most importantly, it shows that nothing is impossible no matter the
odds, because although many of these Africans Americans did not get to live to see
the final outcome of their journey, their hard work did not go
A Critique Of The Theory Of Global Risk Society Essay
Introduction
Death is a part of life that nobody will ever escape; it is the last act we will perform
before we are physically no more. There are different cultures, religions, beliefs and
values that people have the opportunity of being a part of in their life, and nothing
reflects that more when someone dies. People have become more open about death,
dying and bereavement, where they are now influenced to broaden their horizons
about the options they can choose. The theory of modern and postmodern deaths
characterizes an individual s choice on how they choose to die and accept death and
explain new ways of thinking about death practices. Through personal experience of
death and bereavement modern and postmodern death will be analyzed. It will be
discussed through personal links and connections and explain whether and how it
validates and or offers a critique of the theory of global risk society.

When my mother died it was the worst experience of my life. I had felt that my
whole world was over and had no idea about how I was going to make it through
my life without her. It made me realize that every day was not guaranteed and that
people die without any notice. The first thought I had was that if she had been sick
or she had been elderly, maybe I would be able to cope better knowing I had time to
prepare my goodbyes or that I knew that she had lived a long and fulfilled life. The
fact she was killed in a motorcycle accident that was through no fault of

Patriotism Essay For Kids. Essay on patriotism is better than universal brotherhood

  • 1. Patriotism Essay For Kids Crafting an essay on the subject of patriotism for kids might seem like a straightforward task at first glance, given the seemingly simple and positive nature of the topic. However, delving into the intricacies of conveying the essence of patriotism in a way that is both engaging and understandable for children poses its own set of challenges. Firstly, simplifying complex concepts such as love for one's country, national pride, and civic responsibility without oversimplifying or losing the essence can be tricky. Striking the right balance between providing enough information to make the essay meaningful and keeping it accessible for young minds requires thoughtful consideration. Secondly, maintaining a tone that is both inspiring and age-appropriate is crucial. The challenge lies in delivering a message that encourages a sense of patriotism without resorting to jingoism or inadvertently fostering an exclusionary mindset. Furthermore, capturing the attention of young readers necessitates creative approaches, whether through storytelling, relatable examples, or vivid imagery. Creating an essay that not only imparts knowledge but also instills a sense of connection to one's country demands a careful blend of informative content and captivating narrative. In conclusion, while the topic of patriotism for kids may seem like a simple one, the process of composing an essay on this subject requires navigating through the complexities of language, age-appropriate communication, and the challenge of inspiring a sense of national pride in young hearts. For those seeking assistance in writing similar essays or exploring a wide range of topics, various resources are available. Based on the information provided by the parents, the doctor requested Milton and Margaret complete a Modified Checklist of Autism in Toddlers (M CHAT), which is a list of informative questions about their child. The test resulted in the doctor requesting support from a developmental pediatrician, a neurologist, and a psychologist. After receiving reports from all of the supporting professionals, Milton and Margaret were officially informed that their daughter has a form of autismcalled Asperger s. Even though they knew from birth that something was wrong, they were shocked and relieved, simultaneously, when they received the diagnosis. Milton stated that he felt as if he was stuck in a bad dream. They began to blame each other. Once the blaming stopped, they were able to work together, focusing on what was best for Marginee`. Both parents divulged that it felt like an emotional roller coaster, vacillating between shock, relief and a host of other emotions such as, denial, anger, and depression. At this time, Acceptance was far off . According to research, their reaction is typical, which reveals that learning about any difficulty or problem with your child s development can be devastating and confusing (Partington, 2015). One mother attests that the diagnosis came as a tremendous blow. Another recalls that the day my child was diagnosed as having a disability, I was overwhelmed and so confused that I recall little else
  • 3. Analysis of the Level of Democracy of the European Union The EU has often been indicted with having a democratic deficit due to its supposed lack of adherence to democratic principles. In order to determine whether this is true, and the European Union is democratic enough, it is necessary to establish the meaning of the word democratic. Democracy can mean different things in various contexts, often depending on the socioeconomic situation, political policies and structures of the country in question. However, Schmitter and Karl describe democracy as a system of governance in which rulers are held accountable for their actions in the public realm by citizens. Beetham segregates the ideas of political equality and popular control whilst others such as Lively have asserted that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, a central element of a democracy is the ability for voters to change the party or government in control; however, in the European Union, the legislature consists of the Parliament, Commission and the Council. Considering the Parliament is the only one which has any connection to citizen elections, any change in the composition of the European Union would be ineffective in bringing about substantive transformation. In addition, in comparing the EU to a traditional democratic system in which MPs are elected by the people and responsible for the people, in the European Union, people do not enjoy this direct representation. Furthermore, the existence of comitology committees which contribute to the drafting, editing and enacting of European Union laws further detach the citizens of the EU from the decision making, leaving a large portion of European processes to be organised by unelected committee members. The delegation of authority to expert committees, whilst being more efficient, distances the citizen from the European Union, making the institution much less democratic. Andrew Moravcsik, however, comments on this, claiming that such a large scale system of government would not possibly be able to remove distance from itself and all of its citizens. On this account, it appears that Moravcsik is correct. However, the

Some of the ones with the most doubt would actually become known as our Big Five , football, basketball, baseball, hockey and soccer. There has never been one quite like Ultimate Frisbee. Ultimate frisbee is arguably the best sport in todays society. I also believe it is the best sport for todays society. It has the most potential of changing our societies point of view on violence and fun. Ultimate has what I believe is the most power behind it because of its fans. Ultimate frisbee is one of the greatest and fastest growing sports, it has captured the respect and approval from a wide and strong fan base ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First off it has the main fundamentals of soccer and football the two most famous sports. From soccer it has the constant passing and moving of the ball/frisbee and from football it has the field layout, catching and throwing. Its also a very active sport that keeps you constantly moving, thinking and guessing. Probably the greatest part is that its played with a frisbee. Frisbees can curve, roll, flip, turn, they can go out over the crowd and then back into the game without touching anything plus there are so many different ways to throw them that you keep the defense constantly guessing. Then there are the highlights of ultimate the jumps, leaps, flips, dive rolls and and sprints that leave the fans in awe. People dive up to 10 20 yards with there bodies laid out flat in the air. They jump over each other and dive to barely catch the frisbee just centimeters off the ground. And if all that isn t enough it is perhaps the cheapest sport all you need is a frisbee (no more than 12$), field , and maybe a pair of cleats. And in todays society cheap is

Erastus Deaf Smith I chose to write this essay on a famous deaf person that completely changed the history of the United States and forever changed the history of the state of Texas. This Deaf man could moreover be singly part of the only reason the Texans do not speak fluent Spanish as their first language that was born in the early part of 18th century. The reason I chose this individual is because of my intrigue of American history, moreover, through my research I found that he introduced a fine stock of Muley (meaning hornless) cattle from Louisiana to the San Antonio area, where the Longhorn breed was previously popular. My intent of this paper is to bring the history of an extraordinary Deaf man to light with his trials and triumphs. Erastus Deaf Smith was born April 19th,1787 In New York. From his birth or a childhood illness, Deaf Smith experienced a partial hearing loss. It is believed that his birth was breech and from that he suffered a lifetime of health issues and fragility. With his health problems among them he suffered was severe lung problems most likely tuberculosis. Smith moved to Mississippi in 1817 and then to Texasin 1821. The Legalists believe that a good ruler should rule with an iron fist and hand out strict punishments and rewards. The Confucians, however, believed that a good ruler should act as a compassionate example for his people. Success On The Internet Is All About Successful Marketing A simple sales formula in conjunction with the BLM Traders Lead Generation system will help you accomplish your marketing goals quicker than trying to do it on your own....or by using only conventional methods of promoting! Success on the internet is all about successful marketing. When you think about various ways to market your product or services, you must also consider that there is a proper sequence of events that must take place to accomplish your sales goals. Back in the early 70 s when I was just starting to get involved in sales and sales training, I was privileged to attend a one day training session on the proper sequence theory. The AIDA model that was taught during that session was a simple process, however, in my business career, this program has been very effective and profitable for me personally. Wikipedia...the free encyclopedia states: AIDA is an acronym used in marketingthat describes a common list of events that are very often undergone when a person is selling a product or service. The AIDA model guides organizations by reminding them that any successful promotional technique must eventually lead to an action, or the purchase of the product or service. The AIDA sequence was first published in Strong (1925), who himself attributed the model to St Elmo Lewis (late 19th century). The internet is a vast array of websites, promoting just about anything and everything a person could imagine. There are billions of websites trying to capture the

Antibiotics work by blocking vital processes in bacteria, killing the bacteria, or stopping them from multiplying. This helps the body s natural immune system to fight the bacteria infection. Antibiotics do not affect the quality of a beef product. There is an upcoming issue that needs to be addressed about antibiotic resistance. Antibiotics differ in the types of bacteriathey work against. Antibiotics that affect a wide range of bacteria are called broad spectrum antibiotic. For nearly thirty years, there have been quality assurance programs to help reassure farmers and ranchers are continuously improving the way they raise beef. This includes the way antibiotics are used to protect human health and animal health as well, otherwise known as antibiotic stewardship. Those three layers are making sure the medicine is safe for the animal, safe for the environment, and safe for the humans who will consume the meat. In the book Decision in Philadelphia the Constitutional Convention of 1787 by Christopher Collier and James Collier present an exclusive glance at the creating of the Constitution and the events that made the Constitution the way people know it today. Christopher and James Collier begin with historical events that led up to Constitutional creation and a brief summation of the events that were taking place in the country during that time frame. The background that they give provides a good base for the information and allows the reader to see things through the eyes of someone living in the time. During that period, there were many challenges facing America at the time that would have collision on the constitutional convention and the outcomes that would shape the country. One of them being that there was very poor transportation routes and that adversely affected communications. For example the authors quote The few interstate roads that existed were frequently nothing more than mile upon mile of mud wallow, cut by hundreds of streams, creeks, and rivers, most of which were unbridged, so they had to be forded, or crossed by ferry (Collier, 1986, p.14). As a result, due to a lack of this foundation it was very challenging and time consuming for the citizens with travel and communication and diversity was usually unfamiliar to people. At the time people also faced challenges such as the country was divided by religion, ethics, language differences, and majorly economic

He makes the best choices for man and his legion of angels due to His omniscient presence. Stemming from this capacity to create life with an overarching lens, He creates the most favorable outcome for his creations. Contrary to Milton s God s all knowing perspective when creating Adam, in Frankenstein, Mary Shelley estranges Victor Frankenstein from his humanity during his creation of his monster. Due to Victor s morality inhibiting a fruitful facade as Milton s God, his creation of the monster inevitability fosters pandemonium not only in his own life, but wreaks havoc in those around him. Specifically, the treacherous monster killing Victor s brother William by [grasping] his throat to silence him, and in a moment he lay dead at [his] feet explicates the brutal outcomes when the creator of life cannot visualize the effect his creation will have on others. Victor consumed himself with this illusion of being God, blinding himself to the monster s capacity to turn into a violent, impassioned creature whose heart would swell with exultation and hellish triumph (153) at depriving another being of their life. Shelley emphasizes this violence with the savage diction of hellish triumph and swell to fully convey the spreading effect of chaos from Victor s failed action to play God. Transculturation in Our Sister Killyjoy and Nervous Conditions Postcolonial insights include theories of Diaspora, cultural hybridity and transculturation. The latter, transculturation is the term used to define cultural change induced by introduction of elements of a foreign culture. [1] The term transculturation was first coined by Cuban anthropologist and sociologist Fernando Ortiz in 1947 to describe the phenomenon of merging and converging cultures. Transculturation covers war, ethnic conflict, racism and multiculturalism, hence it is a concept very relevant to the postcolonial period and subsequently to postcolonial literature. The title Nervous Conditions comes from Jean Paul Satre s introduction to Franz Fanon s book about the psychosocial effects of colonization The Wretched of the Earth where he says that the condition of the native is a nervous condition.[2] Dangarembga clearly means to foreground gender as the category which determines African women s lives and keeps them natives in relation to the dominant and controlling power structure. Nervous conditions could also be interpreted as a metaphor for those internalized definitions of femaleness that shape, from within women s private and public lives. Sharing one s thoughts on paper has always been part of the role of being a writer; it serves a purpose of writing a reflection of one s personal thoughts and opinions. From the Medieval era to the Renaissance era, Poland is remarked as a period of change. Poland was expanding as a country and many political events were occurring. During this span of time, Polish literature signifies various changes in its themes, beliefs and language all constituted with a purpose. The theme of life and death overpowers Polish literature written during these two eras. The piece that demonstrates a wide scope of his worldview is Laments. Jan Kochanowski expresses his despair and emotions after the loss of his child in the form of treny. Treny are an older style of writing that praise the life and accomplishments of those who passed, especially well known figures. Kochanowski s Laments can be distinguished from the typical treny for the sole reason that the subject is a child instead of a famous or intellectual individual. However, the main character in Laments is Kochanowski himself. He plays the role of a grieving father and author who struggles to find the value and trust in any philosophy, religion and life itself after his daughter s death disrupted his reality. In the article Why We Write About Grief, Oates explains that Grief is the most humane of emotions but it is a one sided emotion; it is not reciprocated. This is exactly what makes Laments credible for the Kochanowski s worldview through death. He experienced it himself as a parent; one cannot simply understand how it feels to lose a child. It is not a typical telling of a story about death; it is the dark emotions of a mourning father. Throughout the Laments, Kochanowski intertwines the theme of searching ways to relieve pain and his bitter reflection on death. Specifically, he expresses a rebellion against death. From

According to, Delinquency and Juvenile Justice in American Society, Sheldon provides the rights that juveniles are granted. The supreme court ruled that when a judge considers whether to transfer a case from juvenile court to an adult court, a juvenile is entitled to a hearing and has the right to counsel. The court must provide a written statement giving the reasons for the waiver, and the defense counsel must be given access to all records and reports used in reaching the decision to waive. Often times juveniles rights are waived or broken due to lack of proper legal representation. Human Interaction with Nature in the Works of Aldo Leopold and Elizabeth Bishop The poet Elizabeth Bishop and the naturalist Aldo Leopold share a keen power of observation, a beautifully detailed manner of writing, a love for the beauty of nature, and an interest in how people interact with the natural world. Like Leopold, Bishop examines human interactions with nature on both the personal and the ecological level. For both narrators, this lack of emotional connection changes when they notice some striking detail about the wolf or fish which awakens them to the symbolic value of the animal and transforms their way of relating to nature. Leopold sees a fierce green fire dying (130) in the eyes of the wolf and senses that his neat equation of fewer wolves equals more deer is inadequate, and that wolves have an importance unknown to him. He goes on to develop a new conservation ethic, one that values wolves as well as deer and protects wild animals for their own sake and that of the ecosystem, not just for the pleasure of hunters. Bishop s speaker notices five fishhooks dangling from the fish s mouth and realizes how many times the fish has battled for its life and won. Its fighting spirit earns her respect and causes her to release the fish. The particular symbolic value that each writer finds in the wild animal is evident in his or her beautifully poetic descriptions of the animal. Each admires the animal for its undaunted courage in the face of a harsh existence. Bishop repeatedly uses words and images which personify the fish as a wise old warrior: the fish is battered and venerable (8), his skin is like ancient wallpaper (11), and the broken fishing lines that hang from his mouth are like medals

  • 26. Suspense In The Film Rear Window Hitchcock uses many techniques throughout the film Rear Window to convey suspense. The major theme of the film regards Jefferies voyeurism. His intrigue in the everyday lives of his neighbours is viewed as intrusive and morally wrong on principle. However, without this voyeuristic tendency the crime committed by Thornwald would never have been solved. Thus, the audience is lead through emotional turmoil in questioning whether it is wrong to invade someone s privacy, or just and heroic to solve a crime. We see the climax of the film when Lisa and Stella venture out of Jefferies apartmentto investigate the murder of Mrs Thornwald. This leads to a confrontation between Thornwald and Jefferies. These scenes build suspense through the use of detachment, the use of split screen , red herring plot devices, lighting, music and diegetic sound. In Hitchcock s Rear Window Jefferies apartment is the sole viewpoint to the outside world for the audience. We rarely see anything that isn t from Jefferies immediate surroundings or directly from his point of view. This gives Jefferies, and in turn the viewers, a detached sense of realism from the world of the apartment complex opposite. Scientists have spent much time studying this solar phenomenon attempting to learn how to predict them. This in turn has caused a significant increase in understanding the anatomy of solar flares to include the phases of flares and what they emit. Bringing things closer to Earth, the emissions of solar flares can have a significant impact in today s technological world. By far, the largest impact of solar flares to our technology is radio blackouts. The emissions of solar flares cause scintillation to occur in the ionosphereeffectively blocking long distance transmissions. Solar flares are excessively bright and powerful and so deserve our attention not only from a scientific standpoint, but a societal standpoint as we rely more and more on our technology. Currently, scientists do not fully understand why and how solar flares occur. However, they have and continue to perform research into how the Sun creates solar flares. As scientists understood it now, solar flares occur in relation to the magnetic fields of the Sun.1 These magnetic fields continuously shift and twist around. They believe the movement of the magnetic fields causes a buildup of energy which results in a solar flare, but scientists have not been able to sufficiently explain how the mechanism works.2 Our lack of understanding solar flare physics makes predicting a solar flare tricky so we must rely on past observations.

Plato s Simile of the Cave sheds light on this this idea which is also adapted by the 1999 movie by Andy Wachowski Lana Wachowski, The Matrix. Both works have allegorical meanings which explains how people are trapped by some sort of limitations they have which could also serve as a deterrent to their further understanding. This movie The Matrix shares a common philosophical basis with Plato s Simile of the Cave. First, Plato argues that the mind is susceptible to false ideas because of the limitations of our senses. This is shown in the conversation between Socrates, a speaker in his allegory, and Glaucon, the second speaker. Socrates explains to Glaucon that the prisoners in Plato s metaphorical cave are bound to assume that the shadows thrown on the wall, by the fire, are real and that the objects held by the passers by, walking along the road, belong to the shadows. And so in every way they would believe that the shadows of the objects we mentioned were the whole truth. (Plato, 26). Plato believes that the world perceived through our senses is not a real world, but a poor copy of it. This prisoners do not know that they are prisoners, which makes them to be completely unaware that the reality they know is false. In similar fashion, his claim shares a common

A large portion of Kane s issues stemmed from how he was separated from his parents in his youth. First seen innocently playing in the snow during the memoirs of Thatcher, his world is turned upside down with the revelation that he is leaving his old life behind to become educated under the guidance of his new guardian. The sled he is playing with and the setting in which he was playing become a turning point in his life. At the end of the film, burning in a furnace with the rest of Kane s possessions, Rosebud is shown to be the sled that Kane was using during that snowy day when his life was changed forever. Rosebud was the sled that Kane used to try and push away Thatcher,
