Introduction The fathers of the United States founded this nation on a principle of religious freedom,
and it has since become the leading nation in peaceful pluralistic living. The United States Army is a
direct reflection of this nation with respect to the pluralistic culture. Men and women of the United
States have fought and died to secure this freedom, and as a chaplain, he or she must continue to do all
to defend the fundamental right to free exercise ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
DoD Directive
In further refining the role or limitations for a Chaplain, the Department of Defense provides
directives to bring clarity to more specific issues. The Chaplain is viewed as the subject matter expert
(SME) on religion. With this in mind, and his/her position as personal staff officer to the commander,
they are called on to advise commanders on issues pertaining to religion and the accommodation
thereof. Department of Defense Directive 1300.17 indicates specific guidance to the acceptance of
religious accommodations. Since the military places high value (DoD Directive 1300.7) on the right to
free exercise of religion, commands are encouraged to accommodate religious needs where
appropriate. While on the outset, this does not apply directly to the Chaplain, he/she is the SME on all
matters pertaining to religion. Therefore, this directive again narrows, limits, the scope of the Chaplain
to religious matters. Commanders are encouraged to utilize the expertise of the Chaplain when
determining when and how to accommodate religious practices. This fosters greater unit cohesion and
unit readiness as it pertains to spiritual fitness and resiliency (DoD Directive 1300.7).
Army Regulation
In the scope of understanding the role of a Chaplain, service level regulations contain the most
specific detail on limitations and refinement. Therefore, this study now turns to a review of

Study area:
Present study is based on laboratory work; however the plant material for experimental purpose will
be collected from experimental farm of CSIR IIIM (32.73N and 74.87E). Objectives:
1. Full length cloning of squalene synthase, squalene epoxidase, Ξ² amyrin synthase CYP88D6,
CYP172A54, the five known genes involved in glycyrrhizin biosynthesis from Glycyrrhiza glabra.
2. Real time expression analyses of the targeted genes in various in vitro regenerated plant organs in
relation to organ specific glycyrrhizin accumulation.
3. Phytochemical analysis of in vitro regenerated plants.
4. Functional and biochemical characterization of at least one protein expressed in heterologous plant
host.

Biosynthesis of glycyrrhizin is not fully elucidated at gene level. The early stages of triterpenoid
saponin biosynthesis via isoprenoid pathway involve the dimerization of two molecules of farnesyl
diphosphate catalyzed by squalene synthase, epoxidase mediated oxidation then produces 2,3
oxidosqualene. The first diversifying step in triterpenoid biosynthesis is the cyclization of 2,3
oxidosqualene a common substrate of oxidosqualene cyclases (OSCs) and a precursor of both
triterpenes and sterols [Abe et al., 1993]. The biosynthesis of glycyrrhizin involves the initial
cyclization of 2, 3 oxidosqualene by a specific OSC, Ξ² amyrin synthase (bAS), to the primarily
oleanane triterpene Ξ² amyrin which is one of the most commonly occurring triterpenes in plants. The
subsequent steps involve a series of oxidative reactions at positions C 11 (two step oxidation) and C
30 (three step oxidation), followed by glycosyl transfers to the C 3 hydroxyl group.
Genes involved in the early stages of glycyrrhizin biosynthesis, namely, squalene synthase and bAS,
have been functionally isolated from G. glabra [Hayashi et al., 1999, 2001]. The bAS gene has also
been functionally isolated from several other plants including Arabidopsis thaliana [Shibuya et al.,
2009], Avena strigosa [Qi et al., 2004], Lotus japonicus [Sawai et al., 2006], and Medicago truncatula
[Suzuki et al., 2002]; however, most of the steps in the modification of the

Western World Religion
Although there were many different aspects that played into the shaping of Western society, religion
was the most influential. That s not to say that religion was able to do that alone, but it seems that no
matter what was happening during the course of the last several hundred years, religion played a part.
Without the efforts of Luther, Zwingli, Calvin, and many others who were willing to stick their necks
out for religious freedom. Bucking the system and questioning the status quo was exactly the theme of
every major development in the Western world. The following words from Martin Luther help to bring
together an idea that sparked progression and reform that began in the early 1500s and is still in
motion today:

God s right, or the divine right of kings, led to many civilizations under the direction of rule by those
who were only in that position because of religious standing. Thanks to the actions of political
reformers, many nations began adopting policies that were more representative of their inhabitants.
They weren t perfect to begin with, and many countries were ruled by emperors who claimed to be
progressive but were clinging on to ideas that would further their own agendas. They were called
enlightened despots. Catherine the Great was one of those rulers. She had many great ideas and was
seen by most of her people as a friend of Enlightenment. However, she had a greater desire to be
views as an enlightened leader, rather than actually being one. When Catherine suspended meetings of
a Legislative Committee aimed at giving a voice to all due to her lack of order, it led many to believe
that there were aspects of her persona that were simply for show (Boeve, Schrijvers, Stoker, Vroom,
2006). However, even a glimmer of progression showed that the once unheard of actions of religious
reformists was beginning to have an impact on all facets of

Types of Vacations
Vacations are a time we use to recharge our batteries. A time to spend with the ones you love and build
lifelong memories. There are many different options to consider when choosing where and how to
vacation. Everyone has different things they consider enjoyable or relaxing. In this essay I will discuss
different types of vacations and point out some benefits of each. Some people enjoy vacationing at the
beach. The warm climate is one of the biggest selling points when deciding on a beach vacation. You
can enjoy warm weather activities like swimming picnicking or volleyball. Or you can just completely
relax. Lay out in the sand with your feet in the water and a cold beverage, soaking up the sunshine.
Beach vacations are usually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People with this mentality would probably be more interested in the theme park or sightseeing
vacations. There are lots of things to do. The days are action packed with little or no down time. Once
you finish one thing, there are a hundred other things to do next. I personally prefer a mix of the two. I
usually like staying busy. I will get bored easily and feel like I m wasting time if I don t have
something to do. But I don t like to feel tied down. If I spontaneously decide I want to go do
something else, I like to have that option. My grandmother on the other hand is the master of doing
nothing on vacation. A few times a year she rents a beach house or condo on the water, then she
spends the entire week inside, sitting on the couch reading books. I don t know why she insists that
she be near the water, when she will never even step outside once to look at the water. But it s what
she likes to do. And that s the whole point of vacation, getting some time that is just for you. Whether
you enjoy beaches or mountains, whether you want to chill or go on an adventure, a vacation is a time
for you to do what makes you happy. The purpose of this essay was to explore the different styles of
vacations with the thought of matching them to your

Human Resource Management And Human Resources
Human resource management entails the management of the people working in an organization. These
are the people who are entrusted to help meet the organizations objectives. They start from the lowest
level employees to the top management. Human resource management therefore, encompasses the
entire workforce who help to uplift and grow the company into the great multinational corporations
they are from their inception to date. The significance of the human resources in organizations has
become more evident over the years as more managers discover the relationship between
organizational performance and employee retention and satisfaction. Therefore, they must strive to
gain the best employees to represent their interests in the market. People who will work together to
meet the organizations objectives and people who will make the organization have a competitive
advantage over all others in the market. The human resources approach to management emphasizes
the importance of human capital in the organization. This paper describes the role of human resource
management in an organization. It also analyses the differences between personnel management and
human resource management as well as the phases of human resource planning. The second part of the
paper analyses the factors involved in the recruitment of employees, and factors pertaining to
employee payment, job evaluation and cessation of employment. The third part of the paper focusses

Tomboy Essay
Tomboy: A Real Phenomenon or a Social Construct I was adopted at the age of 13. I was so consumed
to make my new family happy that I did everything I could to try and make them happy. One thing
that they seemed especially involved in was the game of hockey. Both of my brothers played it and so
did my little sister. All of them had started by the time they turned three. So, when I joined the family,
I also joined them in their love for the sport. Despite being years behind in experience with other kids
my age, I quickly picked up on the game (thanks to my brothers and dad). It wasn t until freshman
year that things begin to get complicated. There was no girl s hockey team, so being stubborn like I
am, I joined the boys high school hockey team.

Medieval Manor Pros And Cons
A medieval manor was a large agricultural estate that was made up of various types of farming lands,
a village where the current manor tenants would live, and a manor house where the lord who owns or
controls the estate lives. It was typically the wealthy who owned or had control over any of the
manors. Most manors were built of natural stone and were built to last. Their size usually illustrated
the owner s wealth.
During the 16th century, medieval manors were built by lords and ranged in size from 1,200 1,800
acres and were primarily used for agricultural purposes. There were a wide variety of people who
resided inside a medieval manor. The manor s lord acted as a direct line of communication to the
King. The vassal or liege , was known

The Benefits Of Intrauterine Insemination ( Iui ), And...
In today s world there are several options for couples who are wanting to begin or add to the number
of members in their families, but have had difficulties in doing so. Aside from adoption, the
possibilities for these couples include: Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), In vitro Fertilization (IVI), and
Surrogate Mother Arrangements. While these options may result in a pregnancy, they are not without
risk and must be considered prayerfully, as they carry a moral and ethical weight. First, Intrauterine
Insemination, also known as artificial insemination, is a process commonly used for unexplained
infertility in which specially washed sperm is directly inserted into the uterus (Christianlifesources).
Most clinics offer for the woman to remain lying down for a few minutes after the procedure, although
it has not been shown to improve success. The sperm has been put above the vagina and cervix it will
not leak out when you stand up (Advanced Fertilization). During the IUI procedure, Doctors place the
sperm higher in the cervix than with Intracervical or ICI procedures, resulting in higher percentages of
pregnancy. Doctors utilize IUI in situations where women experience problems with ovulation, mild
cases of endometriosis, and cervical factor infertility (advanced fertility). Clients also benefit from IUI
when male factor infertility is an issue, however, If the sperm count, motility and morphology scores
are quite low, intrauterine insemination is unlikely to work (Advanced

Murder In Macbeth And Edgar Allen Poe s The Tell-Tale Heart
When analyzing a character and their actions, perspective is an important element to consider. This
coincides with point of view, which gives us further context of a character s actions. In Shakespeare s
Macbeth and Edgar Allen Poe s The Tell Tale Heart , murder is a common theme in which the
protagonists struggle to overcome the guilt they feel. The protagonists inevitably let their guilty
consciences overpower them, leading them to their demise. Looking at these texts critically, focusing
our attention on the perspectives of the given texts, gives us a comprehensive understanding of the
character s actions.
A story told in the first person point of view is beneficial for the reader because it enables us to
understand the story as it unfolds for the character. In Poe s The Tell Tale Heart , an unnamed narrator
tells the story of a murder he commits. From the narration, we are able to learn information about the
character that otherwise would not be evident. The narrator s motive for murdering the old man, for
example, was explicitly stated. The narrator begins by pondering the potential reasons for murder,
Object there was none. Passion there was none. I loved the old man. He had never wronged me. He
had never given me insult. For his gold I had no desire (Poe 1). He goes through the usual motives,
eliminating each one until reaching a conclusion. I think it was his eye! Yes, it was this! He had the
eye of a vulture a pale blue eye, with a film over it. Whenever it fell upon me, my blood ran cold; and
so by degrees very gradually I made up my mind to take the life of the old man, and this rid myself of
the eye forever (Poe 1). We are able to see the entire thought process of the narrator, which would not
have been possible if not for the first person point of view.
Shakespeare s Macbeth , on the other hand, is not fully told in the first person. Because it is a play, we
learn about Macbeth s characters through his interactions with other characters, and other character s
descriptions of him. Our initial encounter with Macbeth is through dialogue between the king and a
sergeant that Macbeth fought in war with. In admiration, the sergeant says all s too weak for brave
Macbeth well he deserves that

Eden catches sight of the view Adan is witnessing, despair writes itself onto his face.

People are outside going berserk, as the earth beneath them is rising and shooting out lava.

The Crime Of Organized Crime
When I hear the term organized crime, I associate it with The Mafia , Scarface , and Cartels .
Organized crime can be defined in a variety of ways. It is an ongoing criminal enterprise that is wisely
working to generate profit engaging in illegal activities depending on demand, where its presence is
preserve through force, intimidations, and corruption. According to the FBI, organized crime is
basically a group of transnational, national, or local alliances of highly centralized enterprises run by
crooks who make illicit profit or money through illegal and often violent activities (Abadinsky, 1981,
p. 2).
The Task Force on Organized crime states that, the core of organized crime activity is the supplying of
illegal goods and services gambling, loan sharking, narcotics and other forms of vice to countless
numbers of citizen customers (Abadinsky, 1981, p. 267). However, the business of organized
frequently consists of activities that are neither services nor goods, instead they are undoubtedly
scrounging. The connection among illicit business and organized crime can take one of three
following forms: first we have the parasitic form, where associates of a criminal organization extract
money from illegal businesspersons by intimidating them with violence (Abadinsky, 1981, p. 267).
The second from is reciprocal: members of a criminal organization require genuine or illegal
entrepreneurs to pay a secure or percentage sum, then in return they deliver services like limiting

The Role of Women in World War II Essay
How important was the role of women during world war 1
The early rush of volunteers and later the conscription of men led to a shortage of manpower on the
home front. Women, already working in munitions factories were encouraged to take on jobs normally
done by men.
This was the start of major social change. Before the war, women had been content to stay at home to
bring up the family and do domestic work. It was considered unbecoming for a woman to work.
During the war it was considered unpatriotic not to.
Many changes came about as shown by the quote from A. J. P Taylor English History Women became

This turned their faces a bright repulsive yellow. The poor girls were nicknamed canaries . They were
quite proud of this designation as they had earned it in the path of duty. From the war memoirs of

The crisis caused by the second U boat campaign lead to the creation of the woman s land army in
1917. Many of those who served were city girls from middle classed families, quite unaccustomed to
hard physical labor. Few failed to impress the initially doubtful farmer with their grit determination
and in the end they saved their country from starvation. Other women joined the forestry corps and
felled trees in shipbuilding and other industries.
At the start of the war almost the entire staff of the Glasgow Corporation tramways left to form a
special battalion of the Highland Light Infantry. Glasgow got its first females clippies in April 1915,
followed more slowly by Manchester and London. Women also became train drivers and greasers of
the railways.
When the war was over most of the women left, or were forced to leave, the paid employment which
they had taken. Despite this the war had brought a significant change to their life s. They began to do
things the normally had never done before such as wear trousers and smoke in public. After the second
world war their daughter proved to be much tougher to remove from their jobs.

Summary Of People Make Choices

People make Choices Introduction:
From 1941 to 1945, The Holocaust took place in many countries, and millions of people died. Adolf
Hitler came to power in 1933 in Germany, and had an Aryan Race which was the Nazi s idea of a
master race. They thought that people with blonde hair and blue eyes were perfect. Adolf Hitler
developed a plan called the Final Solution, which was to kill mostly Jewish people, but also anyone
who did not fit his standards. Hitler rounded up all of the people he disliked, and he placed them in
concentration camps and death camps. In these awful places, these prisoners got tortured not only
physically, but also mentally. In France, many Jews were being deported to Germany, however; there
was so many, that they had to stay in concentration camps in France. The survival rate in France was
higher than any country in Europe during the Holocaust. Two very similar people who made very
different choices were in France during the Holocaust. A priest named Andre Trocme made a good
choice to save many Jews, and a SS officer named Klaus Barbie made a bad choice to kill thousands
of Jews ( The Holocaust ).
1st body paragraph: Andre Trocme was born on April 7, 1901 in northern France. When he was a

Social Justice Promotes Equality Among People
Social justice promotes equality among people. Having the opportunity to describe social justice s
impact on my own life has challenged me to reflect on the blessings I have been given. Because I have
so much for which to be grateful, I have made acts of service a priority. Through community service, I
have gained a unique understanding of the importance of social justice and equality for all people. A
mentor once said to me, It is much better to be tired and making a difference in the world than to be
well rested and doing nothing. When I first entered high school, I was looking forward to new clubs

Fourth Grade Teacher Research Paper
My desire to teach really derives from those who really connected me with the love for educating
others. The connection I made with my fourth grade teacher really encouraged me to seek a change for
the better in my life and help others do the same. For she turned out to be one of my best friends who
would watch out and made sure to tell me when something was not quite right with me. The
connection I had with her made me feel like I was a part of her family, and could do anything with her
support. The way she always had time to listen to my drama or play games with my friends and I
created this idea that maybe I could be that person for other kids. In the fourth grade I had just moved

My fourth grade teacher really instilled the idea that teaching really comes with the responsibility of
connecting with the students, and being there for them when to them it feels like no one else is and
that their world may seem like a giant catastrophe. She really helped me open my heart to helping
others and created this drive to look for others in need of someone who just simply needs someone to
do it all for. Another huge inspiration of my decision to teach comes from a very recent inspiration of
my senior year English teacher. Mrs. Cox had an almost overwhelming passion for teaching. She
rarely missed a day of school and never came without a smile or positive attitude, and no matter how
bad of a day any of could be having or how heavy of a topic we discussed she always knew how to

world and an unfortunate thing to have to leave her class at the

The Importance Of Free Will
Freedom is a very powerful word and it can mean so many different things for different people. Some
people would say that free will is the most important thing we have, but what does free will really
mean and how do we know that we are doing something because of our free will? Freedom lies in
expressing your own determinism, not somebody elseΒ΄s. It is not the determinism that makes a
difference, but instead the ownership. If freedom is what we prefer, it is preferable to be determined
by forces that originate in ourselves and not in others. This is a passage from Free Will written by Matt
Ridley. According to this passage, determinism has a big impact on how our free will works. We
cannot control our determinism since that is something nature ... Show more content on

Ridley is discussing in this passage and throughout the entire text, the connection between free will,
and determinism in a generic aspect and environmental aspect. But what does determinism mean? The
belief that all events are caused by things that happened before them and that people have no real
ability to make choices or control what happens (Merriam WebsterΒ΄s LearnerΒ΄s Dictionary).
Understanding the meaning of determinism is vital to understand what Ridley wants to say in this text.
When Ridley states that freedom lies in our own determinism and not somebody elseΒ΄s, he means that
every human being has its own determinism that is created from a genetic aspect and an
environmental aspect. Our freedom lies in our unique determinism and what is created specifically for
us. When we follow the determinism that has been creating within our self s, then we are truly acting
from our own free will. As he states, it is not the determinism that makes a differences since
determinism is already decided for us regardless of the decisions we make since those decisions has
been made on the foundation of something that happened to us, that we might not even know affected
us. If you want to look at it from the determinism in the genetic point of view it is the same rules that
apply, even if we think we are making a decision based on our free will, it might be because of
personality traits we inherited from our parents. I do agree with the points he is making in this
passage. I really think he is going deep into this subject and exploring how we humans work. If I think
about freedom and was asked to explain the word in one sentence I think I would say something
similar to: Freedom is when we are allowed to act and think on our own without the pressure of any

including hematopoiesis, cardiogenesis, vasculogenesis, and neuronal development, as well as
endothelial progenitor cells. In addition to its multipotent capability, the mesenchymal stem cell
(MSC) can secrete and supply a large amount of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) (Tang J et

Primary research for this proposal suggests SDF 1Ξ± and VEGF play a key role in stem cell recruitment
and myocardial regeneration. Increased expression of of SDF 1Ξ± through Ad SDF 1alpha (adenoviral
vector containing human SDF 1alpha gene under the control of the rous sarcoma virus (RSV)
promoter) through injection into myocardial tissue promotes angiogenesis in damaged tissue. It is
suggested that SDF 1 gene expression is regulated by the transcription factor hypoxia inducible factor
1 (HIF 1) in endothelial cells, resulting in selective in vivo expression of SDF 1 in ischemic tissue in
direct proportion to reduced oxygen tension (Ceradini DJ, 2004). VEGF secreted by MSC s is thought
to enhance expression of SDF 1Ξ±. Increased expression of SDF 1Ξ± in the presence of transplanted
MSC s could potentially promote differentiation of MSC s into myocytes, leading to regeneration of
myocardial tissue leading to improved heart function.
Specific Aims
The aim of this research is to investigate if and how co transplantation of mesenchymal stem cells,
varying in quantity transplanted, in combination with overexpression of VEGF, SDF 1Ξ±, enhance
differentiation and recruitment leading to cardiac repair in LAD occluded rats.

Health issues of bad cardiovascular fitness
Good physical health is a vital part of the well being of every person. A major component of our
physical health is Cardiovascular fitness . Cardiovascular fitness is the ability of the heart and lungs to

The Fallacialist Lothrop Stoddard
Refutation of this stupid, lowbrow notion would be better done in an article in a publication but I am
seeing it promoted more and more and as I am very interested in combating error, particularly among
nationalists, I ll take a crack at briefly addressing it.
The nuts and bolts of this is that we have this half caste Austrian nobleman (his mother was Japanese)
who made some remarks almost a century ago about how the man of the future would be mixed race.
He is also in some sense considered the father of the EU due to his pan European political
organization. From this it is asserted that he planned the genocide of the white race and that European
elites are implementing this plan now almost a century later.
One version of the plan fingers the usual Jewish bogeyman even though Coudenhove Kalergi wasn t

Analysis Of Elizabeth Barrette Browning s Sonnets From The...
Throughout Elizabeth Barrette Browning s Sonnets from the Portuguese, the speaker expresses her
thoughts on love. Despite the myriad of ways that the speaker chooses to express her understanding of
love, it is comprised of qualities existing outside of the world s inherently corrupt nature. The speaker
in Elizabeth Barrette Browning s Sonnets from the Portuguese views the world and her desires
through the self sacrificing and pure nature of love and values it above physical beauty and simple
societal endearment.
The speaker s perspective on the world and love are intertwined. When looking at the world, she sees
the earth as a proponent of love, aiding in the battle to defeat all that desires to harm love. In Sonnet

This perspective shapes her course of action and results in her seeking a life of love on earth rather
than pinning for heavenly wonders that are not a part of her current world.
The speaker not only understand the role of love in the world, but also understands the nature of love
to be self sacrificing and pure. She openly rejects a love founded outside of love and requests that love
be primarily for the sake of love itself. This idea is expressed in detail in Sonnet XIV. Many people
desire for love to be defined by aspects regarding their character or a part of who they are on the
inside. However, the speaker rejects this idea and desires for something deeper in her own
relationships and love life. The speaker requests that she not be loved by her appearance and also not
by her internal qualities. Ultimately, the speaker understands the brevity of one s appearance and even
personality as she addresses her lover to say for these things in themselves, Behold, may, Be changed
or change for thee (95). The beauty that a couple holds dear or even the intellect that a person admires
can evolve into a new being over time and will leave the person who originally embarked on that
relationship disappointed because the reason they felt love has changed or dissolved. However, the
speaker s solution to this dilemma is to love only except for love s sake only (95). By loving for the
purpose of love itself, a

Analysis Of Enuma Elish s The Garden Of Eden Essay
The story of Enuma Elish are inscribed on 7 cuneiform tablets which was recovered by a collector
named AH Layard in Iraq. This story has some parallel tales told in the Old Testament such as
Genesis, Exodus and the Psalms. In Enuma Elish presented to the father and mother as Apsu and
Tiamat represented as saltwater and freshwater and were present before the creation of the universe.
The epic begins this way: When on high ... No heaven HAD Been named, called earth No, not
Annunaki ... There was nothing ... nothing but Old Father Apsu and Mummu Tiamat, Mother of All
Living . This describes a series of Gods that were created and later gained wisdom leading to a
similarity to Genesis presenting the tree of knowledge in the Garden of Eden and so says: Increasing
in wisdom, in understanding and in ...strength. Apsu planned to destroy the gods to form a universe of
order in a chaotic world. Ea is another god who kills Apsu to prevent what he had planned. Genesis
also describes a world full of chaos and God decided to give skills to everyone in order to bring a new
order. In Enuma Elish, Ea joins Damkina and has a divine and perfect son whom they call Marduk. In
the tablet fragments, phrases were recited found in the Bible, such as Divine the womb That bore him
(Luke 11:27), My beloved is! My son, who is my Sun, Sun for all the Heavens (Matt 3:17). Within the
epic Kingu mate Tiamat which motivated to make monsters to kill the other gods. Tiamat think

The King, A Man With Broad Shoulders And A Muscular Build
This morning, the king received word that a fire snorting dragon was again terrorizing the countryside.
It is scaring the people of his kingdom, and they want to leave their land. He summoned his legion of
knights and advisors to the castle for a meeting. Once before the king sent the royal knights into the
area, they tried to stop the giant lizard from roaming the lowlands and raising havoc in the kingdom.
The knights, in their shiny armor, could not slay the animal. Only chase him back into the mountains.
Should he return to the valleys and fields they would have no option, but to slay him. The king, a tall
man with broad shoulders and a muscular build, is a respected leader on or off the battlefield. He
ordered the tables in the grand ballroom, pushed together to form a square letter U. The knights and
advisers will be sitting on the outside of the tables. The king, wearing his blue robe with the royal

hand on the handle of his sword. As he walked by looking at the people sitting on the other side of the
table, he would, from time to time stroke his white beard with his left hand. With a stern and

Taking a Look at the Coca Plant
Erythroxylum coca is a plant native to the Andean region in South America. However that is not the
only place that it is grown. It is also grown in Mexico, India, Tanzania, Madagascar, other parts of
Africa, and in some places in Asia including Indonesia. To grow the coca plant, it must be in an area
that is slightly sloping so no water can drown the plants. The seeds planted are gathered from
December to March being 2 to 3 years old. They are planted in small plots shaded from the sun. They
are sown 2 inches apart and are weeded frequently. A coca plant germinates in about 20 to 30 days. It
reaches its transplanting size in 2 months when it is about 12 inches tall. It reaches full maturity and is
harvested between 12 and 24 months after it is transplanted. The leaves are harvest ready when they
have a yellowish tint and they crack when bent. the leaves are picked by hand. The most abundant
harvest is after the March rains. Other harvests occur in June, July, and November. After being
harvested the leaves are put in sacks, then taken to a closed room and spread on the floor. The next day
they are spread in thin layers on a tarpaulin out in the sun while they dry. If they are receiving direct
sunlight, then they can dry within 6 hours. On a cloudy day they can take longer to dry. If it rains or
storms the leaves must be taken inside or they will be ruined because if they have over 14% moisture
they will ferment. After being dried the leaves are left for 3 days before they

ASD in Adults
It is known that 80% of adults in the United States have experienced trauma at least once in their lives.
I simply cannot imagine an adult going through this, but it must be more difficult for children to
overcome it. It is not common for older adults to develop ASD, as they have most likely learned how
to cope with stressful events. Experiencing a traumatic event at a young age can most likely lead to
developing ASD in adulthood. ASD in adulthood can easily develop into a more complex
psychological disorder known as PTSD. A treatment that can help adults is Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy, which can reduce the trauma. This treatment is usually used and is more effective in children
rather than adults. Another type of treatment is Eye Movement Desensitisation and reprocessing,
(EMDR). EMDR is a type of therapy treatment that can help people recover from their emotional
distress in life. This type of therapy has been proven to be very effective in most cases, and is still
used.

According to the website Minddisorders.com, children do in fact suffer from ASD, but not as much as
adults do. For example:

effectively medications and psychotherapy treat these disorders in this age group. There are as yet no

Previous literature has examined the economic causes and consequences of international and domestic
financial sector liberalization. However, the political causes and consequences of economic
liberalization have received less attention [Abiad2005]. Few theoretical work addresses whether an
increase in financial liberalization leads to democratic transition [Milner2009, p175], or why large

magnitude of liberalization.

complexity according to the Economic Complexity Index (ECI). The reported exported goods was
$125B and $32.8B imported, creating a positive trade balance. Resulting in 2014 gross domestic
product (GDP) totaling $210B and the per capita GDP was $140k. The top exports for Qatar are
Petroleum Gas, Crude Petroleum, Refined Petroleum, Ethylene Polymers and Nitrogenous Fertilizers.
(Qatar Economy, n.d.) The export of oil and gas can account for approximately 85 percent of the
countries export revenues. The proven oil reserves are in excess of 25 billion barrels, and the natural
gas reserves are third largest in the world. Qatar s banking remains competitive and amended laws for
investment to attract more foreign investment. (Qatar 2016, n.d.) Having a strong economy and
abundance of high demand resource has helped with Qatar making allies and having an influence in
the Southwest Asia region. Qatar has made many political allies that help the country with keeping its
boarders and also keeping order in its boarders. Many of these allies are accepted and common allies

Essay on Sex and Lies in Arabian Nights
Sex, Lies, and Open Sesame In Richard Burton #8217;s translation of Arabian Nights, several stories
revolve around three ideas; sex, lies, and violence. It seems that one idea hinges on another and the
stories use one to justify the other. This paper will explore the use of sex, lies, and violence and their
interdependence on one another throughout three stories. These stories are #8220;The Story of King
Shahryar and His Brother, #8221; #8220;Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, #8221; and #8220;The
Hunchback #8217;s Tale. #8221; It will also discuss the strange use of these ideas in the stories as
well as Arabian culture. Sex has been a mainstay in literature for countless years. Many love stories

After struggling with the information, Shah Zamon decides to tell his brother and after discovering the
truth King Shahryar decided that no woman could be trusted. He then developed a plan; first he killed
his wife, her lover, the concubines, and the white slaves. Then he decided, #8220;He also swore a
binding oath that whenever he married, he would take his new wife #8217;s maidenhead at night and
slay her the next morning to make sure of his honor, for he was convinced that there never was or
could be one chaste woman upon the face of this earth. #8221; (Page 12) This example once again
proves that sex, lies, and violence all spins the web of problems that we see in this book. Violence is a
concept that takes on many different uses in Arabian culture. It is used both as a means of killing,
protecting, and punishing. In #8220;Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, #8221; after Ali Baba finds
treasure in the cave of the thieves, his brother Kasim is jealous and follows him back only to get
caught within the cave. When he is discovered by the thieves he is not only murdered but also his
body is used to fore warn others. #8220; #8230;they (the thieves ) decided to quarter Kasim #8217;s
dead body and hang two parts on the right and two parts on the left of the door so that the sight would
be a warning of doom to all those who might dare

Jurassic Park Analysis
The final stage of the hero cycle is the return stage. The magical flight according to Joseph Campbell
is the stage of the story that the hero has to escape from the dark world. In the interview, he explains
that another creature is chasing the hero. For example, Prometheus was pursued by the gods because
he stole fire from them (Campbell). The fire gives mankind a chance to improve their lives and
become smarter. In Jurassic park, the magical flight takes place when the velociraptors are chasing
down Grant and his companions (Spielberg). In this case, the velociraptors are the gods because they
attempt to chase and kill Grant. The scene shows that Grant needs to show the idea that Jurassic Park
is a dangerous place to stay and trying to control forces that cannot be controlled leaves disaster in its
wake. It also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Harris explains that the hero has to become a new person. The hero does not live by the same ideals
and does not get influenced by any negatives influences. However, if this does not come true, then
they will be forced to relive the entire journey. In this case, the negative influence is money. In
Jurassic Park 3, Grant is once again influenced by money that will cover the costs of the archeological
dig. As New York York Times puts it as a benefactor Paul Kirby (William H. Macy), who whips out a
checkbook to persuade Grant to join the expedition, (Mitchell). The hero goes through a similar
situation when Hammond uses his money and influence to persuade Grant. This demonstrates that the
hero has not overcome the lure of money which is why he has to overcome this by being sent to an
island with dinosaurs. All in all, Grant does not overcome the power of money which leads him back

The Cultures Of The Viking Culture In Beowulf
The word Viking is defined as a person of any Scandinavian seafaring pirates and the traders who
raided and settled in many parts of the northwestern Europe in the eighth century to the eleventh
century. However not much is know about the culture. In the Viking era, the character Beowulf would
be seen as a valiant and courageous warrior. On the other hand, today in present times, it may be
possible for him to not be seen in such a upstanding light. The Vikings were known as ruthless pirates
who conquered many lands. Although as the cited article mentions: They were also poets, lawmakers
and great artists... at home they lived in an well ordered society, based on laws and democracy.
Contrary to some beliefs they were civilized people within their communities although they were
merciless when it came to gaining controls of lands. In many various cultures women were and still
are wrongfully viewed as inferior to men, Though in the Viking culture women held strong positions
in their society and were responsible for farms when their husbands were away. The column again
states: The symbol of the powerful housewife was her keys, hung from her gown. If her husband took
her keys from his wife, should could divorce him instantly, and keep their shared property. Therefore
women were given power in the their society. The Vikings were travelers and voyagers as well; which
were people that go on long trips, usually in ships. The area in which they traveled to were Southern

Drosophila Melanogaster Lab Report
Identifying unknown phenotypes and determining mechanisms of inheritance of various genes in
mutations of Drosophila melanogaster
Michael Fisher, Tori Hall, Lindsey Theodore
Crosses carried out with Drosophila melanogaster can be used to determine mechanisms that modify
ratios of Mendelian inheritance, such as autosomal dominant and recessive inheritance, genetic
linkage, and epistasis. To identify the eye color phenotypes of two unknowns (U3 and U4), crosses
were carried out between the unknowns and flies with known eye color mutations (sepia, white,
cinnabar, scarlet, brown, and vermillion) and the F1 generations were observed. Thin layer
chromatography was also used to identify the unknowns by showing the pigment composition of each

belief that the genotype shown was true cinnabar. Thin layer chromatography

New Patriots Research Paper
The New England Patriots once again had a busy NFL Draft, which included multiple draft pick
trades, and preemptive moves that moved their draft picks around. At the end of the day, the team
picked four players in the draft, while also acquiring tight end James O Shaughnessy from the Kansas
City Chiefs. Over the years, head coach Bill Belichick has done very well, when it comes to drafting
in the later rounds. This year was no different as he was able to address both the offensive and
defensive lines. Let s take a look at what each pick will bring to the team. 3rd round (83rd overall)
Derek Rivers, DE, Youngstown State: Rivers is a 6 4 defensive end/linebacker hybrid who excelled in
the FCS under head coach Bo Pelini. A late bloomer, Rivers made a huge jump his junior year, before
dominating the FCS this past season as a senior opposite Avery Moss, a fifth round draft pick of the
New York Giants. In his senior season, Rivers finished with 58 total tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, and
14 sacks. Perhaps his greatest strength is his versatility in rushing the passer. Rivers fills the
prototypical Patriots hybrid pass rusher that players like Rob Ninkovich and Trey Flowers have
dominated in. Rivers will compete with Geneo Grissom, Lawrence Guy and fellow draft pick Deatrich
Wise for playing time in a backup role. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are a lot of things to like when it comes to Garcia, including his quick feet and tremendous
athleticism. However, he is a work in progress, and needs to cut down on penalties in order to have a
big role with the Patriots. Garcia could conceivably beat out players like LaAdrian Waddle and
Cameron Fleming for playing time, although his left tackle potential would slot him behind Nate
Solder. If the little things are corrected, he could be a third round

Assessment of the Usefulness of Functionalism in...
Assessment of the Usefulness of Functionalism in Understanding the Family
Functionalism is a structuralist theory. This means it sees the individual as less important as the social
structure of society. It is a top down theory. The family can be defined as an intimate domestic group
composed of people related to each other by blood, sexual relations and legal ties. When assessing
how useful functionalism is when looking at the family, other views/perspectives need to be taken into
account before making an overall conclusion. Views from Talcott Parsons, George Murdock, Ann
Oakley, Edmund Leach, R.D Laing, David Cooper and Friedrich Engels will be taken into account as
well as perspectives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He also does not examine alternatives to the family, not considering whether its functions could be
carried out by other social institutions. Murdock is criticised for being Euro centric, as he is only
concerned about the Western families. However, he is supported by anthropologists; Morris (1968)
said the family was a result of biology and culture over generations (socio biology). This could be a
strength as it shows some researchers have the same view.
Talcott Parsons bases his ideas on the family in modern American society. However, despite this his
ideas have more general application since he claims the American family has two basic and irreducible
functions which are common to the family in all societies, unlike Murdock who argued there were
four. These were, the primary socialization of children, where culture is learned and accepted by
children so they know the norms and values that allow society to exist. Secondly the stabilization of
adult personalities, which is where a marriage relationship and emotional security a couple provide for
each other keeps a personality stable, and acts as a counterweight to everyday stresses and strains that
can make a personality unstable. This process is otherwise known as the warm bath theory, where the
family provide a relaxing environment for the male worker to

401k Retirement Plan
Despite the $5.5 trillion invested in retirement and savings plans, many Americans are primed for a
lower standard of living during their golden years. Since Social Security and defined benefit plans are
becoming a thing of the past, Americans are relying heavily on their own investments later in life.
Defined benefit plans have given way for the rise of 401k and IRA plans which are defined by
contributions of the individual. Employee sponsored programs in 401ks have been flocked to for their
flexibility, tax efficiency and high contribution limits when compared to other retirement accounts.

that almost half the working population is employed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now that 401k and IRA plans are the sole form of retirement planning, it has become a problem for
Americans to save anything. Employee sponsored 401k plans have become the status quo in

investment platforms aims to tackling this problem making them easily accessible for businesses of all
sizes. While its effect wont be felt for another few years it s a great first step to addressing the growing

Russian Revolution Research Paper
The Russian Revolution
The Russian Revolution was an extremely difficult time for everyone. The events that occurred lead to
the idea of communism today. A great amount of events occurred during the years leading up to the
revolution. First, Russia had already faced many other wars and the country was struggling because of
lack of communication from their Emperor Tsar Nicholas II. Next, during the revolution, Nicholas II
was pushed out of office and the country started to follow the ideas of Lenin and the Bolsheviks. The
February and October Revolutions also took place during the span of time known as the Russian
Revolution. Towards the end of the revolution a war between the Reds (for communism) and the
Whites (against communism) began. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

These regions were located in the east, the south and the northwest of the Soviet Union. These were
also the three major parts of the war. During the time of this war there was little rain which caused
great famine. According to the Library of Congress about 1 million Russians had left Russia during
this time of hardship and moved to other countries permanently. Eventually, Lenin and the Bolsheviks
defeated the Whites and then named themselves the Communist Party. This was how the idea of

In partial fulfillment of the Requirements for the course CHPL 600 Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary By Brian Harvey Lynchburg, Virginia Sunday, January 27, 2013 Introduction The fathers of the United States founded this nation on a principle of religious freedom, and it has since become the leading nation in peaceful pluralistic living. The United States Army is a direct reflection of this nation with respect to the pluralistic culture. Men and women of the United States have fought and died to secure this freedom, and as a chaplain, he or she must continue to do all to defend the fundamental right to free exercise ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... DoD Directive In further refining the role or limitations for a Chaplain, the Department of Defense provides directives to bring clarity to more specific issues. The Chaplain is viewed as the subject matter expert (SME) on religion. With this in mind, and his/her position as personal staff officer to the commander, they are called on to advise commanders on issues pertaining to religion and the accommodation thereof. Department of Defense Directive 1300.17 indicates specific guidance to the acceptance of religious accommodations. Since the military places high value (DoD Directive 1300.7) on the right to free exercise of religion, commands are encouraged to accommodate religious needs where appropriate. While on the outset, this does not apply directly to the Chaplain, he/she is the SME on all matters pertaining to religion. Therefore, this directive again narrows, limits, the scope of the Chaplain to religious matters. Commanders are encouraged to utilize the expertise of the Chaplain when determining when and how to accommodate religious practices. This fosters greater unit cohesion and unit readiness as it pertains to spiritual fitness and resiliency (DoD Directive 1300.7). Army Regulation In the scope of understanding the role of a Chaplain, service level regulations contain the most specific detail on limitations and refinement. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Biosynthesis of glycyrrhizin is not fully elucidated at gene level. The early stages of triterpenoid saponin biosynthesis via isoprenoid pathway involve the dimerization of two molecules of farnesyl diphosphate catalyzed by squalene synthase, epoxidase mediated oxidation then produces 2,3 oxidosqualene. The first diversifying step in triterpenoid biosynthesis is the cyclization of 2,3 oxidosqualene a common substrate of oxidosqualene cyclases (OSCs) and a precursor of both triterpenes and sterols [Abe et al., 1993]. The biosynthesis of glycyrrhizin involves the initial cyclization of 2, 3 oxidosqualene by a specific OSC, Ξ² amyrin synthase (bAS), to the primarily oleanane triterpene Ξ² amyrin which is one of the most commonly occurring triterpenes in plants. The subsequent steps involve a series of oxidative reactions at positions C 11 (two step oxidation) and C 30 (three step oxidation), followed by glycosyl transfers to the C 3 hydroxyl group. Genes involved in the early stages of glycyrrhizin biosynthesis, namely, squalene synthase and bAS, have been functionally isolated from G. glabra [Hayashi et al., 1999, 2001]. The bAS gene has also been functionally isolated from several other plants including Arabidopsis thaliana [Shibuya et al., 2009], Avena strigosa [Qi et al., 2004], Lotus japonicus [Sawai et al., 2006], and Medicago truncatula [Suzuki et al., 2002]; however, most of the steps in the modification of the ... They were called enlightened despots. Catherine the Great was one of those rulers. She had many great ideas and was seen by most of her people as a friend of Enlightenment. However, she had a greater desire to be views as an enlightened leader, rather than actually being one. When Catherine suspended meetings of a Legislative Committee aimed at giving a voice to all due to her lack of order, it led many to believe that there were aspects of her persona that were simply for show (Boeve, Schrijvers, Stoker, Vroom, 2006). Aside from adoption, the possibilities for these couples include: Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), In vitro Fertilization (IVI), and Surrogate Mother Arrangements. While these options may result in a pregnancy, they are not without risk and must be considered prayerfully, as they carry a moral and ethical weight. First, Intrauterine Insemination, also known as artificial insemination, is a process commonly used for unexplained infertility in which specially washed sperm is directly inserted into the uterus (Christianlifesources). Most clinics offer for the woman to remain lying down for a few minutes after the procedure, although it has not been shown to improve success. The sperm has been put above the vagina and cervix it will not leak out when you stand up (Advanced Fertilization). During the IUI procedure, Doctors place the sperm higher in the cervix than with Intracervical or ICI procedures, resulting in higher percentages of pregnancy. Doctors utilize IUI in situations where women experience problems with ovulation, mild cases of endometriosis, and cervical factor infertility (advanced fertility). Clients also benefit from IUI when male factor infertility is an issue, however, If the sperm count, motility and morphology scores are quite low, intrauterine insemination is unlikely to work (Advanced ... • 11. Murder In Macbeth And Edgar Allen Poe s The Tell-Tale Heart When analyzing a character and their actions, perspective is an important element to consider. This coincides with point of view, which gives us further context of a character s actions. In Shakespeare s Macbeth and Edgar Allen Poe s The Tell Tale Heart , murder is a common theme in which the protagonists struggle to overcome the guilt they feel. The protagonists inevitably let their guilty consciences overpower them, leading them to their demise. Looking at these texts critically, focusing our attention on the perspectives of the given texts, gives us a comprehensive understanding of the character s actions. A story told in the first person point of view is beneficial for the reader because it enables us to understand the story as it unfolds for the character. In Poe s The Tell Tale Heart , an unnamed narrator tells the story of a murder he commits. From the narration, we are able to learn information about the character that otherwise would not be evident. The narrator s motive for murdering the old man, for example, was explicitly stated. The narrator begins by pondering the potential reasons for murder, Object there was none. Passion there was none. I loved the old man. He had never wronged me. He had never given me insult. For his gold I had no desire (Poe 1). He goes through the usual motives, eliminating each one until reaching a conclusion. I think it was his eye! Yes, it was this! He had the eye of a vulture a pale blue eye, with a film over it. Whenever it fell upon me, my blood ran cold; and so by degrees very gradually I made up my mind to take the life of the old man, and this rid myself of the eye forever (Poe 1). We are able to see the entire thought process of the narrator, which would not have been possible if not for the first person point of view. Shakespeare s Macbeth , on the other hand, is not fully told in the first person. Because it is a play, we learn about Macbeth s characters through his interactions with other characters, and other character s descriptions of him. Our initial encounter with Macbeth is through dialogue between the king and a sergeant that Macbeth fought in war with. It is an ongoing criminal enterprise that is wisely working to generate profit engaging in illegal activities depending on demand, where its presence is preserve through force, intimidations, and corruption. According to the FBI, organized crime is basically a group of transnational, national, or local alliances of highly centralized enterprises run by crooks who make illicit profit or money through illegal and often violent activities (Abadinsky, 1981, p. 2). The Task Force on Organized crime states that, the core of organized crime activity is the supplying of illegal goods and services gambling, loan sharking, narcotics and other forms of vice to countless numbers of citizen customers (Abadinsky, 1981, p. 267). Some people would say that free will is the most important thing we have, but what does free will really mean and how do we know that we are doing something because of our free will? Freedom lies in expressing your own determinism, not somebody elseΒ΄s. It is not the determinism that makes a difference, but instead the ownership. If freedom is what we prefer, it is preferable to be determined by forces that originate in ourselves and not in others. This is a passage from Free Will written by Matt Ridley. Ridley is discussing in this passage and throughout the entire text, the connection between free will, and determinism in a generic aspect and environmental aspect. But what does determinism mean? The belief that all events are caused by things that happened before them and that people have no real ability to make choices or control what happens (Merriam WebsterΒ΄s LearnerΒ΄s Dictionary). Understanding the meaning of determinism is vital to understand what Ridley wants to say in this text. When Ridley states that freedom lies in our own determinism and not somebody elseΒ΄s, he means that every human being has its own determinism that is created from a genetic aspect and an environmental aspect. Our freedom lies in our unique determinism and what is created specifically for us. When we follow the determinism that has been creating within our self s, then we are truly acting from our own free will. As he states, it is not the determinism that makes a differences since determinism is already decided for us regardless of the decisions we make since those decisions has been made on the foundation of something that happened to us, that we might not even know affected us. If you want to look at it from the determinism in the genetic point of view it is the same rules that apply, even if we think we are making a decision based on our free will, it might be because of personality traits we inherited from our parents. I do agree with the points he is making in this passage. I really think he is going deep into this subject and exploring how we humans work. The treatment of ischaemic heart disease and myocardial tissue regeneration remains poorly understood. Mesenchymal stem cells possess the ability to differentiate into various tissue types, including hematopoiesis, cardiogenesis, vasculogenesis, and neuronal development, as well as endothelial progenitor cells. In addition to its multipotent capability, the mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) can secrete and supply a large amount of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) (Tang J et al., 2009). Increased expression of of SDF 1Ξ± through Ad SDF 1alpha (adenoviral vector containing human SDF 1alpha gene under the control of the rous sarcoma virus (RSV) promoter) through injection into myocardial tissue promotes angiogenesis in damaged tissue. It is suggested that SDF 1 gene expression is regulated by the transcription factor hypoxia inducible factor 1 (HIF 1) in endothelial cells, resulting in selective in vivo expression of SDF 1 in ischemic tissue in direct proportion to reduced oxygen tension (Ceradini DJ, 2004). VEGF secreted by MSC s is thought to enhance expression of SDF 1Ξ±. From this it is asserted that he planned the genocide of the white race and that European elites are implementing this plan now almost a century later. The speaker in Elizabeth Barrette Browning s Sonnets from the Portuguese views the world and her desires through the self sacrificing and pure nature of love and values it above physical beauty and simple societal endearment. She openly rejects a love founded outside of love and requests that love be primarily for the sake of love itself. This idea is expressed in detail in Sonnet XIV. Many people desire for love to be defined by aspects regarding their character or a part of who they are on the inside. However, the speaker rejects this idea and desires for something deeper in her own relationships and love life. The speaker requests that she not be loved by her appearance and also not by her internal qualities. Ultimately, the speaker understands the brevity of one s appearance and even personality as she addresses her lover to say for these things in themselves, Behold, may, Be changed or change for thee (95). The beauty that a couple holds dear or even the intellect that a person admires can evolve into a new being over time and will leave the person who originally embarked on that relationship disappointed because the reason they felt love has changed or dissolved. However, the speaker s solution to this dilemma is to love only except for love s sake only (95). By loving for the purpose of love itself, a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is also grown in Mexico, India, Tanzania, Madagascar, other parts of Africa, and in some places in Asia including Indonesia. To grow the coca plant, it must be in an area that is slightly sloping so no water can drown the plants. The seeds planted are gathered from December to March being 2 to 3 years old. They are planted in small plots shaded from the sun. They are sown 2 inches apart and are weeded frequently. A coca plant germinates in about 20 to 30 days. ASD in Adults It is known that 80% of adults in the United States have experienced trauma at least once in their lives. I simply cannot imagine an adult going through this, but it must be more difficult for children to overcome it. It is not common for older adults to develop ASD, as they have most likely learned how to cope with stressful events. Experiencing a traumatic event at a young age can most likely lead to developing ASD in adulthood. ASD in adulthood can easily develop into a more complex psychological disorder known as PTSD. A treatment that can help adults is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which can reduce the trauma. This treatment is usually used and is more effective in children rather than adults. Another type of treatment is Eye Movement Desensitisation and reprocessing, (EMDR). EMDR is a type of therapy treatment that can help people recover from their emotional distress in life. On the other hand, today in present times, it may be possible for him to not be seen in such a upstanding light. The Vikings were known as ruthless pirates who conquered many lands. Although as the cited article mentions: They were also poets, lawmakers and great artists... at home they lived in an well ordered society, based on laws and democracy. Contrary to some beliefs they were civilized people within their communities although they were merciless when it came to gaining controls of lands. In many various cultures women were and still are wrongfully viewed as inferior to men, Though in the Viking culture women held strong positions in their society and were responsible for farms when their husbands were away. The column again states: The symbol of the powerful housewife was her keys, hung from her gown. If her husband took her keys from his wife, should could divorce him instantly, and keep their shared property. Therefore women were given power in the their society. The Vikings were travelers and voyagers as well; which were people that go on long trips, usually in ships. The area in which they traveled to were Southern ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Drosophila Melanogaster Lab Report Identifying unknown phenotypes and determining mechanisms of inheritance of various genes in mutations of Drosophila melanogaster Michael Fisher, Tori Hall, Lindsey Theodore Crosses carried out with Drosophila melanogaster can be used to determine mechanisms that modify ratios of Mendelian inheritance, such as autosomal dominant and recessive inheritance, genetic linkage, and epistasis. To identify the eye color phenotypes of two unknowns (U3 and U4), crosses were carried out between the unknowns and flies with known eye color mutations (sepia, white, cinnabar, scarlet, brown, and vermillion) and the F1 generations were observed. Thin layer chromatography was also used to identify the unknowns by showing the pigment composition of each eye ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Between observations of the unknown phenotypes, the crosses run that showed the phenotypes and strong similarities in TLC extracts and Rf values there was a strong case showing U3 as cinnabar and U4 as sepia. Identifying unknown genotypes using thin layer chromatography Thin layer chromatography was used as a better gauge of what the unknown phenotypes for U3 and U4 were since extracts and Rf values were observes and recorded for all strains and were shown as distinct in values rather than just being observed as one similar trait of wild type as the crosses had ... • 46. New Patriots Research Paper The New England Patriots once again had a busy NFL Draft, which included multiple draft pick trades, and preemptive moves that moved their draft picks around. At the end of the day, the team picked four players in the draft, while also acquiring tight end James O Shaughnessy from the Kansas City Chiefs. Over the years, head coach Bill Belichick has done very well, when it comes to drafting in the later rounds. This year was no different as he was able to address both the offensive and defensive lines. Let s take a look at what each pick will bring to the team. 3rd round (83rd overall) Derek Rivers, DE, Youngstown State: Rivers is a 6 4 defensive end/linebacker hybrid who excelled in the FCS under head coach Bo Pelini. A late bloomer, Rivers made a huge jump his junior year, before dominating the FCS this past season as a senior opposite Avery Moss, a fifth round draft pick of the New York Giants. In his senior season, Rivers finished with 58 total tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, and 14 sacks. Perhaps his greatest strength is his versatility in rushing the passer. Rivers fills the prototypical Patriots hybrid pass rusher that players like Rob Ninkovich and Trey Flowers have dominated in. Rivers will compete with Geneo Grissom, Lawrence Guy and fellow draft pick Deatrich Wise for playing time in a backup role. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are a lot of things to like when it comes to Garcia, including his quick feet and tremendous athleticism. However, he is a work in progress, and needs to cut down on penalties in order to have a big role with the Patriots. Garcia could conceivably beat out players like LaAdrian Waddle and Cameron Fleming for playing time, although his left tackle potential would slot him behind Nate Solder. If the little things are corrected, he could be a third round ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Assessment of the Usefulness of Functionalism in... Assessment of the Usefulness of Functionalism in Understanding the Family Functionalism is a structuralist theory. This means it sees the individual as less important as the social structure of society. It is a top down theory. The family can be defined as an intimate domestic group composed of people related to each other by blood, sexual relations and legal ties. When assessing how useful functionalism is when looking at the family, other views/perspectives need to be taken into account before making an overall conclusion. Views from Talcott Parsons, George Murdock, Ann Oakley, Edmund Leach, R.D Laing, David Cooper and Friedrich Engels will be taken into account as well as perspectives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He also does not examine alternatives to the family, not considering whether its functions could be carried out by other social institutions. Murdock is criticised for being Euro centric, as he is only concerned about the Western families. However, he is supported by anthropologists; Morris (1968) said the family was a result of biology and culture over generations (socio biology). This could be a strength as it shows some researchers have the same view. Talcott Parsons bases his ideas on the family in modern American society. However, despite this his ideas have more general application since he claims the American family has two basic and irreducible functions which are common to the family in all societies, unlike Murdock who argued there were four. These were, the primary socialization of children, where culture is learned and accepted by children so they know the norms and values that allow society to exist. Secondly the stabilization of adult personalities, which is where a marriage relationship and emotional security a couple provide for each other keeps a personality stable, and acts as a counterweight to everyday stresses and strains that can make a personality unstable. This process is otherwise known as the warm bath theory, where the family provide a relaxing environment for the male worker to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
