Restaurants have recognized the importance of cultivating visually appealing dishes and spaces to attract social media coverage, which can increase their popularity and business.
Perception is Everything:

eSpectatorship and the Attention Economy
Our attention is constantly pulled in many directions, especially online, as thousands of companies create content to attract viewers. With limited time available each day, there is high demand on our attention economy. To catch someone's attention, content needs to be relevant to their interests, recent or timely, and emotionally evocative or humorous. It should also be short, make sense, and worth sharing with others. Unless content can grab attention quickly, most people will only engage with something for a page or two before moving on.

Raising the Chorus: CLA Presentation Nov2010

Clicktivism

Reimagining Scholarly Communication for the Public Good

We focused on the problems with relying on the utopian idea of learning through 'affinity spaces' (a concept outlined by James P. Gee) for future education, and our expectations for its development.
Literacies lightning round academic librarians

Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
