This document discusses a Texas non-profit organization called Partners for Family Impact that aims to help fatherless children and their families. It does this through three primary approaches: raising awareness of the issue, collaborating with other non-profits, and operating a family center. The organization is launching in 2015 and is seeking $100,000 to fund its initial operations and services for the Frisco community, including leadership programs for other non-profits and funding the director's salary. Its long term vision is to support family centers around the world.

Walking the walk leadership academy-a mentoring program for fatherless childr...Kevin Karlson
More than 1 in 3 divorced children have not seen their fathers in the last year. These fatherless children are at serious risk for a host of maladies: physical, social, emotional, relational, and spiritual. While re-union with dad is the best solution, when that isn't possible in the near term, whatever the reason, there is a way to prevent those serious maladies from damaging these kids: a mentor. The research is clear- one hour a week with a caring mentor for a year can change the life of a fatherless child forever. This presentation highlights both the risks of fatherlessness and the benefits of a mentoring program along with the strategy for launching a program that is focused on developing leaders rather than "saving" fatherless kids.
1. A Texas Non-Profit Organization
25 million kids are growing up without a father in a single parent family. Nearly half of their moms
are facing a catastrophic financial crisis and teetering on the brink of poverty. Most of these
families were once emotionally and financially stable, but now are lacking the tools and resources
they need to thrive.
We are asking you to join us in our efforts to invest in the futures of these children. We want to
positively alter the trajectory of the lives of these kids to prevent the emergence of the costly
problems associated with fatherlessness: poverty, homelessness, delinquency, substance abuse,
and educational failures.
Our strategic approach has three primary thrusts:
1. Awareness: A multi-focus plan for raising money that includes a documentary style
reality TV show, innovative public and private appeals and partnership programs, and
bank/credit card auto-debit programs.
2. Collaboration: A collaborative approach to forming community-based partnerships
and empowering existing NPOs by providing money, management support, and back-
office integration including IT services, web site design and management, and call
centers to bolster the reach, effectiveness, and efficiency of these agencies.
3. Impacting Families: Building and operating a proof-of-concept, demonstration family
center in Frisco, TX- a “one-stop” family center to co-locate ALL the services
needed by these parents and kids in one convenient central Frisco location.
2. 2015 PARTNERS FOR FAMILY IMPACT CAMPAIGN
