- 2. He was a born in 9 August 1631, Aldwincle. He was a neo-classical critic. He was an english poet,Drametist,Critic,Translatar and also playwriter.
- 3. He was major literary figure in both literature and criticism. He was the most influention critic of the wholl century. In 1668 he wrote “An essay on drametic poesy”.For which he known as the “Father of english criticism.
- 4. • Dryden’s important as a critic comes from his place in histry at the start of the long Neo-classical era. • Dryden erote his own work of criticism.In them,he addresses issues of poetry and plays. • Dryden is not a great analyst of text but some of his work are significant step in devlopment of criticism.
- 5. In his book we can see both the side of dryden.dryden as a poet and also as a playwriter He write this essay a sa drametic dialogue with the four characters representing four critical position.
