Our holiday at Mersing Marine Park was unforgettable. The park, made up of 13
islands, is off the coast of western Johor. It is a place famous for its snorkelling
and diving sites. People can also go there just to relax in a natural environment.
On the islands there are forests that are untouched by logging and come
close to the beach. Unlike other beaches I had visited, the beach here has fine,
white, sand. There was hardly any rubbish lying on the beach. The water that laps
against the beach is so clean and clear that we could look down from the jetty or
the boat to see the fish swimming.
The dive sites at Mersing Marine Park are among the best in the world. The
deep, clear water is a great place for healthy corals to grow into colourful reefs.
When you dive or snorkel in these waters, you can see magnificent marine
creatures such as dugongs, turtles, whale sharks, manta rays, sea slugs as well
as a variety of colourful tropical fish. Fish swim in and out of them. We saw many
foreign tourists exploring the reef and taking underwater photographs.
During our stay on Dayang Island, one of the islands in the park, we went
island hopping. We visited a few islands, Aur Island, Pemanggil Island, and Besar
Island. It was easy to get to these islands as there were boats going to and fro
from one island to another.

C. By plane

Questions 35-37 are based on the following poem.
Mr. Nobody
I know a funny little man,
As quiet as a mouse,
Who does the mischief that is done
In everybody’s house!
There’s no one ever sees his face,
And yet we all agree
That every plate we break was cracked
By Mr. Nobody.
His he who always tears our books,
Who leaves the door ajar,
He pulls the buttons from our shirts,
And scatters pins afar,
That squeaking door will always
squeak,
For, prithee, don’t you see,
We leave the oiling to be done,
By Mr. Nobody
He puts damn wood upon the fire,
That kettles cannot boil,
His are the feet that bring in mud,
And all the carpets soil
The papers always are mislaid,
Who had them last but he?
There’s no one tosses them about
But Mr. Nobody
The finger marks upon the door
By none of us are made,
We never leave the blinds unclosed,
To let the curtains fade
The ink we never spill, the books
That lying round you see
Are not our boots – they all belong

Tristan
I’m not sure how to describe it but I think it’s a mixture of sad and bad.
How can that be? Well, I feel sad because I’m leaving my old school, and I feel
bad because I’m also leaving James.
James is my twin brother. He’s much smarter than me. He can do
everything. He can dress himself and walk and play football and write with a
pen instead of a computer. I would be able to do those things too, if I didn’t
have a disability.
My mum wouldn’t be pleased if she heard me saying ‘disability’. She
says the word she wants to hear me say is ‘ability’.
