The first ride I went on was Lethal Weapon. Next, I saw the Police Academy show. After
that, I had lunch as I was really hungry. Meanwhile, Mum and Kelly queued for the Batman ride.
About one o’clock, we got a light shower of rain but it cleared up soon after. We then went

TORNADO
Tornadoes are known as one of the most damaging disasters. What is
the definition of tornadoes? A tornado is a very powerful column of winds
which spirals around a center of low atmospheric pressure. A tornado will
look like a large black funnel which hangs down from a storm cloud.
The name "tornado" derives from the Latin "tonare". It means "to
thunder." While the Spanish developed the word into "tornear" which means
"to turn or twist". This is why a tornado is sometimes called twister or
cyclone. The winds inside a twister can spin around at speeds up to 500 miles
an hour, but it usually travels at roughly 300 miles an hour. This speed
twisting makes a tornado the most dangerous storm. The average tornado has
a diameter of about 200 to 300 yards. The smaller tornadoes are known as
satellite tornadoes. These small off spring, about 50 yards across, can be very
fierce and do lots of damage.
The forming of a tornado can be very quick. Sometimes it can form in a
minute or less. A tornado can travel across the ground at high speeds, then it
can suddenly vanish. Most tornadoes last less than twenty minutes and travel
less than 15 miles. However, the super storms sometimes travel over 100 miles
before they are exhausted.

Long time ago in China, there lived a little boy named Hung Yung. He was
the youngest child in the family and had many elder brothers and sisters.
One day, their father brought home a big basket of pears. He put the basket
on the table and told his children that they could each take one pear to eat. All the
children except Hung Yung came up to table and began to choose the biggest and
nicest pear. Hung Yung alone stood back away from his brothers and sisters.
When their father saw this, he was surprised and ask,” Hung Yung, why
don’t you choose yourself a big pear?”
The little boy answered, “ Let my brothers and sisters have the biggest pears
because they are bigger than I am. I will take the smallest one.”
His father was very pleased with this reply because Hung Yung was the only
three years old. He knew that his son one day would grow up to be a great man.
Years later, Hung Yung really grew up to be a great man.
8. A hurricane is an intense, rotating oceanic weather system that has maximum
continued winds exceeding 119 km/hr (74 mph). It forms and intensifies over tropical
oceanic regions.
Hurricanes are generally smaller than storms in mid-latitudes, typically about 500 km
(311 miles) in diameter. At the ocean’s surface, the air spirals inward in a
counterclockwise direction. This cyclonic circulation becomes weaker with height,
eventually turning into clockwise (anticyclonic) outflow near the top of the storm. When
a hurricane hits land, it can do great damage through its strong winds, heavy rains,
inland flooding, and huge waves. A powerful hurricane can kill more people and destroy
more property than any other natural disaster.
Hurricanes are categorized according to the strength of their winds. It is measured by
using the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale. A Category 1 storm has the lowest wind
speeds, while a Category 5 hurricane has the strongest. These are relative terms,
because lower category storms can sometimes cause greater damage than higher
category storms, depending on where they strike and the particular dangers they bring.
In fact, tropical storms can also produce significant damage and loss of life, mainly due
to flooding.
