A randomized crossover study involved 13 people with type 2 diabetes following a paleolithic diet and a diabetes diet for 3 months each. Outcome measurements found that the paleolithic diet improved glycemic control and cardiovascular risk factors such as weight, waist circumference, serum lipids, C-reactive protein, blood pressure, and glycated hemoglobin levels.
