Pakistan was established in 1947 as a result of the Muslim League's democratic movement led from Dhaka, giving Muslims freedom and joy. In 1971, political unrest and leadership failures led to the establishment of Bangladesh after the division of Pakistan's armed forces. The 2018 elections saw Pakistan Tehreek Insaf form government after widespread corruption under previous ruling parties, though some now criticize the army, judiciary and media for governance issues under the new party.
