This proposal summarizes a research project to cultivate oyster mushrooms on a commercial scale in Lahore, Pakistan. The objectives are to provide fresh mushrooms to the market at a low price to meet rising demand from pizza parlors. An existing poultry shed will be converted for mushroom cultivation using the seed spray method. Costs will be low as equipment is already in place. Mushrooms will be ready for harvest and delivery to markets within 40 days of seeding. The project aims to succeed by offering fresh, high-quality mushrooms at a competitive price to capture the market currently supplied by dried mushrooms.
