2. OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY
Anmol Shakti farmer producer company is located at Kathua
district of JKUT. This company has been formed by 520 members
who are the share holders of the company. All the members are
mainly women that is why we called it as a women driven
company. Some 520 women mushroom producers have joined
hands and formed the Farmer Producer Company by
contributing share capital of rupees five lakh. The company was
recognized as a start-up company by the Department for
Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade Ministry of Commerce
and industry, Government of India (DPIIT).

3. INTRODUCTION OF MUSHROOM THAT
WE ARE PRODUCING
• Of different types of mushrooms known world wide, species belong to the genus Pleurotus (Oyster
Mushroom)are considered as one of the most interesting species based on many factors. First; their
ability to grow under different environmental conditions (tropical and subtropical rainforest), ability
to degrade wide range of lignocellulosic substrates due to highly diversified enzymatic activities, ease
of cultivation in both solid state fermentation and submerged culture with higher growth rate
compared to other types of mushrooms, higher nutritional value compared to other mushrooms and
production of wide variety of bioactive molecules of medicinal values. Therefore, Pleurotus sp. Is
nowadays is ranked the third most cultivated mushrooms after Agaricus and Lantinula.

Properties
Unique flavor and aromatic properties; considered to be rich in protein, fiber,
carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. Among the volatile compounds that
constitute edible mushroom to be flavor, 1-octen-3-ol is considered to be the
major contributor.
Medicinal
Properties
Promising as medicinal mushrooms, exhibiting hematological, antiviral, antitumor,
antibiotic, antibacterial, hypocholesterolemia and immunomodulation activities.

5. BUSINESS PLAN
• Our company works on a particular Oyster mushroom named as P.Ostreatus. The
capacity to produce fresh Oyster mushroom is 20kg per day per producer. The
total production can be 10,000kgs. Let us workout fifty percent capacity
utilization. So there is a production of 5000kg of fresh mushroom per day. It is a
fact that fresh mushroom contains maximum number of aromatic compounds.
Hence, our company decided to go for the processing of fresh mushroom.
• At first instance, we want to process 1ton of fresh mushroom daily for the
production of value added products. After successful trials, feasibility will be
studied for marketing the products in national markets and will also explore the
possibilities to export the products if there is a good margins abroad. We will
happily collaborate with a sound party which is engaged in same business and is
well versed in international trade. It is hoped that such business will fetch
handsome returns both for our start-up company and the collaborator as well.
Without the collaborator in marketing, we cannot process at least 5 tons of fresh
mushroom on daily basis which itself speaks of its volume and value.

• Vision of Anmol Shakti Farmer Producer Company is to produce
Phytopharmaceutical and nutraceutical products from a
particular mushroom named as Oyster Mushroom (Pleurotus
Ostreatus). The mission of our company is to commercialise
these products and make our company successful
• EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
• Anmol Shakti Farmer Producer Company has been formed by
520 members who are the share holders as well as the
mushroom producers of this company.
• START UP GOALS
• The main goal of our company is to do value addition of oyster
mushroom. We also intend to make three different types of
phytopharmaceutical and nutraceutical products.
(1)Product of multipurpose dietary supplement.
(2)Production of lovastatin (DRUG).
(3)Production of volatile and taste chemicals.

7. • CONDUCT MARKET ANALYSIS
• Nowadays, the demands of the purposed products are increasing day by
day because these products are in a category of phytopharmaceuticals
and nutraceuticals. Plant based products have less side effects than the
products that are made up of synthetic chemicals.
• START UP MARKETING PLAN
• Our capacity to produce oyster mushroom is 20kg per day per producer.

• STARTUP PARTNERSHIP PLANS
• Our company will try to have partnership with pharma companies
engaged in the production and marketing of bio-medicines. The main raw
material i.e. Medicinal mushroom with many nutraceutical and
pharmaceutical properties is available in our company which is producing
at least five thousand kg of fresh mushroom daily. So, there is a need to
collaborate with investors/pharma company to process five thousand kg
of mushroom on daily basis.

9. INFRASTRUCTURE WE NEED
• GMP PILOT PLANT FOR EXTRACTION
• For extraction of mushroom to be used as extract which is further used as
herbal medicine (bio-medicine). Keeping in view the presence of all
nutrients with medicinal value and nutraceutical properties. We want full
standardised compliances as needed in pharma sector to market the
same. The same will be packed with the packing facilities in the plant.
Extraction , Standardisation and Packing, all these are required in order to
make the multipurpose health supplement.
Mushrooms have a long association with humankind and provide profound
biological and economical impact. From ancient times, man has consumed wild
mushrooms with delicacy probaby, for their taste and pleasing flavour. Edible
mushrooms provide high quality of protein that can be produced with greater
biological efficiency than animal protein, rich in fibre, minerals and different types
of vitamins especially, vitamin B-complex and vitamin C and have low fat content,
with high proportion of polyunsaturated fatty acids relative to total content of fatty
acids. Fresh mushrooms contains relatively large amount of carbohydrates(4-5%)
and fiber but, in mushrooms, starch is absent. Mushrooms also contains significant
amount of phosporous, sodium and pottasium with lesser amount of calcium and
iron

10. • FERMENTATION PLANT FACILITY
(i) facility of identification of microbial strains for
various industrially important products/enzymes
and their large scale production.
Oyster mushroom contains an HMG-COA reductase enzyme inhibitor substance
called statin (lovastatin or mevinolin-2.8% dry weight). Lovastatin is a drug
approved by the FDA for lowering “bad cholesterol” and raising “good cholesterol”.
Higher concentration of lovastatin are in the caps then in stems, more concentrated
on the mature grill, and especially in the spores.

11. (ii) Due to the competency of the fermentation plant
for isolation, characterised identification,
screening for specific secondary metabolites and
nutraceuticals such as aromatic compounds.
Pleurotus ostreatus is best described as umami which is a deep savoury flavour profile
indicative of the amino acid glutamate. Our mushroom contains many aroma
compounds such as volatile fatty acids or esters, lactones, aldehydes, alcohols and
ketones which play a significant role in the production of food to improve its flavour. .
These have also high biological activity, low toxicity for using in folk medicine, food,
perfume, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries as defoaming agents. Among the
volatile compounds that constitute edible mushroom to be flavor, 1-octen-3-ol is
considered to be the major contributor.
(iii) Due to the facility of micro processor controlled facility from lab scale to
pilot scale 5L to 4000L capacity with supporting down-stream processing
facilities for fungal (mushroom) based products.
We have a capacity of 5000kg mushroom production per day. This fifty quintals of
mushroom can be processed for production of all the three main categories of products
such as:-
(a) Production of high value dietary supplement (nutraceuticals)
(b) Production of bio-active compounds containing flavour and taste compounds.
(c) Production of drug called as lovastatin.

12. EXPECTED PRODUCTS
• PRODUCTION OF MULTIPURPOSE DIETARY SUPPLEMENT
• A multipurpose dietary supplement which can be classified also
as mushroom nutraceutical which is also used in prevention of
various human diseases. Pleurotus ostreatus have highest
nutritional value which depends on the presence of high level of
essential amino acids, carbohydrates, water content (from 80 to
90%), protein (40%), vitamins B,C,D,K, thiamine, riboflavin, folic
acid and niacin, minerals (Ca, P, Fe, K, Mn, Cu, Zn, Mg and Se. In
addition, it includes also essentials unsaturated fatty acids
including oleic, linoleic, alpha-linolenic and palmitic acids.
• PRODUCTION OF LOVASTATIN (DRUG)
• The molecules of this drug are naturally produced in P.Ostreatus.
This drug is approved by FDA for lowering “bad” cholesterol and
raising “good” cholesterol. Oyster mushroom contains an HMG-

taste chemicals. Alcohols, aldehydes, ketones and oxides
found in this mushroom make up the majority of these taste
chemicals. These play a significant role in the production of
food to improve its flavor. These have also high biological
activity, low toxicity for using in folk medicine, food,
perfume, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries as
defoaming agents. Among the volatile compounds that
constitute edible mushroom to be flavor, 1-octen-3-ol is

mushroom is also described as umami which is a deep

14. PROBLEMS THAT HAS BEEN FACED BY OUR
COMPANY TILL NOW
• Our company is dependent on local market which do not fetch any
kind of profit and often face many losses due to the perishable
nature of mushroom.
• Large scale market is dependent on middlemen (agents) which
often get lion’s share depriving the poor producer.
• There is no food processing unit in the area which can purchase the
mushroom by giving some profit to the producers.
• Our farmer producer company which is not competent enough to
add value to the mushroom so, the need of support for making
phytopharmaceutical and nutraceutical products always felt.

15. MARKET SCOPE
• There is a vast marketing demand for phytonutraceutical and
phytopharmaceutical products due to its zero side effects as
compared to synthetic nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals which
have many side effects.
• It has a great demand and price in international market which our
company can easily compete because cost of production in India is
much less than in developed countries due to cheap raw material
and production cost.
• Government of India is providing many financial incentives to
promote innovative products made by start-up companies,
especially for exportable Agro-pharma products.

16. FACILITIES THAT WE HAVE
• To start a full fledged processing unit, there is a need of enough Raw-
material on daily basis. We have a capacity to provide 50-100 quintals of
fresh mushroom which is enough to start a MSME Unit.
• To start a MSME Unit, land should be available from 25000-50000 sq. feet
of well developed piece of land with facility of Road connectivity, Rail
connectivity and moreover National Highway connectivity. Electric power
should also be there for starting the unit immediately. Tube well of
suitable capacity should also be there in the complex where unit is to be
started. Minimum building should be there for starting the unit. All these
facilities are available where we want to start the unit in the
commercial area. Located on the national highway at Kalibari Kathua
(JKUT).
• Government of JKUT has announced a special package to invest in
industrial sector. Many lucrative incentives has been announced for next
ten years which are as under:-
• (i) CIS subsidy 35 to 50% for investment on Plant Machinery.

17. • (ii) Interest subsidy for term loan and working capital.
• (iii) G.S.T. refund of 300% on the amount of
expenditure on the plant and machinery for ten
years from date of operation.
• (iv) Many incentives are there for export also.
• (v) Government has provided incentives in each step
for starting the unit without any hindrance and single
– window system is also there to help the investors.
