with another substance and creates compounds
called oxides.

in its chemical formula.
- Oxidation ischaracterized by red, orange, and
yellow stainsthat look like rust.

5. Process of Oxidation:
-Oxidation occurs when oxygen and
water react with iron rich
materials and it weakens
the structure of metal.
-During oxidation the minerals in the
rock will change color, turning into a
'rusty', reddish orange appearance.
