OVERPOPULATION
 The “undesired” condition where the human population exceeds the
carrying capacity of the earth.
 the leading driver of hunger, desertification, species depletion and a range of
social maladies across the planet.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
POVERTY
Poverty is a cause since people in the marginal areas or people at the
poverty line do not have the means for control.
An example would be: In countries that are so poor they can barely afford basic
necessities, women rarely have access to any type of contraceptive.
 Causes: high rate in pregnancy and birth which now adds to the population.
Bill Gates once said “the key thing you can do to reduce population growth is
actually improve health.”
LACK OF EDUCATION
• If every individual on earth were provided with decent education, the population of
the planet won’t be that much of a problem
People who are decently educated can control themselves when it comes to
birth control, knowing that the effects would lead to a terrible disaster.
Education is a crucial part in every person’s life. It is the most basic thing that
everyone needs in order to know what SHOULD be done.
“Education is a hammer that helps build the foundation of a well balanced world.’
DECLINE IN THE DEATH
RATE,
INCREASE IN BIRTH RATE
• If the number of children born each year equals the number of adults
that die, then the population will stabilize. But that isn’t the case
right now.
• Every minute, a few thousands of babies are born from every nation.
But in every minute 20 out of 40 die.
• Why? Though people die, not all die easily or at a young age.
LACK OF FAMILY PLANNING
• The root cause of today’s population increase.
• Most of the world’s population do not have the money for protection and the means
for education, thus the lack of family planning.
• People now a days do not go over things well before having a family.
• Why? It was not taught to them
• Pleasure dominates over what is needed.
• Couples have no contraceptives to use yet they g through with the process.
EFFECTS OF
OVERPOPULATION
ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION
• Since population increases, people have too many needs and wants.
Manufacturing companies now want to fulfill these needs and wants.
They now build factories for the process, which contributes to air
pollution. More and more people buy and then they just litter every
where which leads to the pollution of the ground and water.
Depletion of natural Resources
People have their needs, but there
are already too much people in the earth
today. More people means more needs.
More needs means more exploitation of
the natural resources of the earth. The
earth is only enough to sustain a few
millions and billions of people since it
can only produce a limited amount of
water and food, which is falling short of
the current needs
SOLUTIONS
CONTROL
LOVE
EDUCATION
FAMILY PLANNING
