Over Population in LEDCs
- Over population is a huge problem facing less economically developed countries (LEDCs), particularly in West Africa which faces high levels of over population.
- The world population has grown enormously from only 5 million people in 8000 BC to over 6 billion now, putting pressure on natural resources.
- Most global population growth is occurring in sub-Saharan Africa and parts of Asia, which are the areas least able to support more people and face problems like deforestation.
