Long shore drift occurs where waves hit the coastline at an angle, pushing sediment up the shoreline in the direction of the waves. Erosion is caused by natural elements such as wind, water, ice, and rocks breaking larger rocks into rock fragments or clasts. An estuary is where coastal waters meet river waters.
