The quota system of education
The aim of this study was to try and establish the influence of the quota system of education in Kenya on national unity. The study’s target population was four thousand one hundred and seventy one (4171), and the sample of four hundred and thirty (432), who include three hundred and ninety one (391) learners and forty nine (49) lecturers from The Catholic University of Eastern Africa. The study employed a combination of descriptive survey and naturalistic design, employing both qualitative and quantitative approaches in research. The instruments of data collection were the questionnaire and interview guide to enhance comprehensive data collection. Statistical procedures were used to sort, analyze and summarize
the data into frequencies and percentages. The qualitative data generated in the research was analyzed thematically. Analysis was done using Microsoft Word (a word processing program) and two statistical analysis software PSPP and R. From the research findings, on the quota system of education and its influence on national unity, the researcher was able to identify the following: teacher employment, student selection process and poverty as factors leading to minimal or lack of student / teacher interaction with other cultures and exposure to different environments giving rise to closed societies, closed cultures and teachers who are not globally exposed. These factors may give rise to a closed individual who might end up not being fully acculturated to different environments lacking the necessary skills to foster harmony in society.

A cultural route planning training was held by Folkuniversitetet in Uppsala, Sweden on October 19th, 2018. The full-day training included a lecture and practical workshop on creating new cultural tourism routes based on cultural footprints. The goal was to strengthen competencies in culture and tourism fields. Seven representatives from the local tourism sector participated. Folkuniversitetet developed an innovative toolkit for vocational education and training (VET) providers to support quality management systems for students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The toolkit includes quick assessment tools to help VET institutions evaluate and improve their programs for ADHD learners. Testing of the toolkit was positively received. The toolkit was created as part of the Q4ADHD project, funded by the Erasmus+ program, to develop quality assurance standards in VET for students with special education needs focusing on ADHD.

An international conference on violence, honor, and revolution towards gender equality took place in Örebro University on April 26-27. The conference focused on human rights issues related to violence against women, including honor crimes and harmful practices. It was attended by 175 delegates from over 15 countries. The conference featured performances, speeches, and a film on topics of gender, honor, and violence. It concluded with a panel discussion on revolution and violence.

Graça Gerardo assumes the presidency of ACAPO National Board, succeeding Ana Sofia Antunes. Around 30 ACAPO board members and staff attended training on fundraising. Around 40 ACAPO leaders attended a two-day session to improve management skills and efficient institution management. This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
