The operating system (OS) manages critical computer functions like memory, processes, and accessing hardware and software. It allows programs to run simultaneously and coordinates these activities. If the OS is breached or has exploitable vulnerabilities, it could hugely impact an organization by allowing deletion, modification, or destruction of the OS or data. As a cybersecurity engineer, it is important to understand the operations and vulnerabilities of different OSs like Windows and Linux in order to mitigate threats, remediate issues, and defend against attacks on the OS. The final deliverables for this project are a 7-8 page security assessment report in APA format identifying threats to operating systems, an 8-10 slide nontechnical PowerPoint for management summarizing the findings
