This document describes open source mobile weather stations that were developed to provide localized weather data for water management in Sri Lanka. The stations cost around $350 to assemble using off-the-shelf parts and can measure rainfall, wind, humidity, temperature and other data every 5 minutes. They are customizable, less expensive than certified stations, and have been adopted by various organizations in Sri Lanka and other countries for applications like flood management and agriculture. The developers plan to continue improving the technology and finding new uses while partnering with local businesses and agencies.
