III. Technical and Soft Skills Learned
I discovered and learned from my workplace is to adopt new skills, behavior
and attitudes of other colleagues. When I started in the National Bureau of
Investigation, I noticed that confidentiality is very important in the organization
and this is instilled in us from the very beginning of intern. When I was interning, I
covered different kind of work that is not related with my skills as an IT Student.
But knowing this all new job give me a great experience and new skills that I will
make sure use in the future. I noticed that what I’ve learned in the school as an IT
student is not enough because in the real world you need also to develop new
skills and adapt to the different behavior and attitudes of our colleagues in the
workplace. I learned that it’s not about being a jack-of-all-trades but instead
using my skills to strengthen my forte.
 Do my own thing
Specifically, thinking about starting on your own. There are so many
rejections on the way to landing and choosing a great job, whether this is a
good or bad experience, I’m still interested to learn the lessons from the
outcome and the process. I know this is the one thing that will work for me.
• Assist in performing hardware and software installation procedures
• Perform software configuration on computers and laptops
• Provide support in diagnosing hardware and software issues activities.
• Lay cables and wires for networks and ensure that they are in good
working order
• Document all processes in reference manuals for the purpose of training
and guidance
• Take client support requests and take measures to fulfill requests
• Troubleshoot equipment such as printers and scanners and other
peripherals
• Take telephone calls from clients and ask questions and problems to
them.
• Handle IT related documentation and make sure that all supplies are
available.
• Assist in gathering requirements and developing appropriate reports for
NBI Personnel particularly for Agents.
I finished 325 hours in having my Internship at National Bureau of
Investigation- Car Region.
IV. Recommendations for further improvement of the Company’s Internship
Program.
To improve the internship program I think the school should offer other
companies or government agencies wherein the skills of the students learned
from the school can apply appropriately outside the campus. Not only have the
companies tied up with the school from the previous but to try also other
companies/offices.
V. Advise to future interns
I can only advise to the future interns to be patient and have good
communication skills and communicate to other person that you really don’t
know. Have a good attitude and also to be practical and not be choosy in
selecting companies to render their internship.
Note:
** NOTE that your output will be a basis of your class standing for your final grade.
Observe proper format. Check your grammar and spelling. Expound on your
sentences and be accurate. Attach relevant documents if necessary.
