The Economist - 2/8/14 : Israel, says Yair
Lapid, Israel’s finance minister, is
approaching the same “tipping point”
where South Africa found itself in
opposition to the rest of the world in the
dying days of apartheid. “Let’s not kid
ourselves,” he told a conference of
security boffins recently in Tel Aviv. “The
world listens to us less and less.”
Arutz Sheva - 2/14/14 : "The large chains in
Europe that have been buying Israeli
agricultural produce for years have stopped
buying fruits and vegetables; according to
our figures we're talking about damage
worth a hundred million shekels ($28.5
million) in the last year, ».

3. Why is Israel a colonial state
• The separation wall and Israeli settlements.
• Isolated areas within the Palestinian state.
• Check points : Israel controls all mouvements from and into these
areas, as well as import, export, water, electricity, health care,
education, taxes, money, telephone, internet, etc.
• Travel between the West Bank and Gaza Strip is tightly controlled,
and almost forbidden. No Palestinian can change their address
from Gaza to the West Bank or vice-versa.
• Israel controls the birth, death and marriages registers of the West
bank.
• Mouvement within the West Bank is regulated by the Israeli military,
and requires ID and permissions.
• Palestinian passeports must be approved by Israeli military.
• The Israeli jurisdiction extends to the West Bank and Gaza.
Palestinians are under military law.
• War crimes in Gaza Strip and the West Bank : massacres, collectif
punishments, attacks on civilians, kidnappings, siege, etc.

4. Why is Israel an Apartheid
state• Apartheid policy concerns non-Jewish israeli citizens, called « Arab
citizens of Israel », representing 20.7% of the country's population.
• Apartheid concerns Palestinian refugees, natives of the1948 Israeli
territory who were expelled in 1948. They are not eligible for
citizenship. Israel denies the right of Palestinian refugees to return. But
the Law of Return allows all Jews and persons of some Jewish
descent to immigrate to Israel.
• Some Israeli citizens are prevented from buying, controlling or
developing over 90% of Israel-controlled land, simply because they
are Arabs.
• Israel's school systems for non-Jewish and Jewish children are
separate and have unequal conditions to the disadvantage of the Arab
children.
• Israel bars immigration by family reunification to couples of an Israeli
citizen and a Palestinian resident of the West bank or Gaza Strip. This
mostly affect Arab citizens of Israel.
• Racisme against Arabs and Falashas Israeli citizens in work, religion,
sports, etc.
5. Boycott, Divestment and
Sanctions #BDS
• According to the July 2005 call, the BDS campaign urges
various forms of "non-violent punitive measures" against Israel
until it "complies with the precepts of international law" by:
✴ Ending its occupation and colonization of all Arab lands
and dismantling the Wall;
✴ Recognizing the fundamental rights of the Arab citizens of
Israel to full equality;
✴ Respecting, protecting and promoting the rights of
Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties
as stipulated in UN Resolution 194.
6. #BDS : Methods
• Boycott : targets products and companies (Israeli and international)
that profit from the violation of Palestinian rights, as well as Israeli
sporting, cultural and academic institutions that directly contribute to
maintaining, defending or whitewashing the oppression of Palestinians
as Israel deliberately tries to boost its image internationally through
academic and cultural collaborations;
• Divestment : means targeting corporations complicit in the violation of
Palestinian rights and ensuring that the likes of the university investment
portfolios and pension funds are not used to finance such companies;
• Sanctions : an essential part of demonstrating disapproval for a
country's actions. Israel's membership of various diplomatic and
economic forums provides both an unmerited veneer of respectability
and material support for its crimes.
7. #BDS : L’Oréal
• It operates a factory in the settlement of Migdal Ha’emek in
the Lower Galilee. This settlement was established in 1952
on lands belonging to the ethnically-cleansed Palestinian
village of al-Mujaydil, whose original inhabitants are still
denied the right to return to their homes.
• Like almost all other Jewish settlements built in the midst of
Palestinian villages in the Galilee, inside Israel, Migdal
Ha’emek also discriminates against Palestinian citizens of
Israel, denying them the right to buy, rent or live on any
part of the town, simply because they are “non-Jewish”
• L’Oréal’s brand Garnier supports Tsahal.
8. #BDS : Nestlé
• It maintains a research and development facility, and
production facilities for breakfast cereals, in the
settlement of Sderot in the Gaza Strip. This
settlement is built on the land of the Palestinian Arab
village of Najd which was occupied by the Zionist
invaders on May 13, 1948 and then destroyed.
• The original residents of Najd became refugees
most in the the Gaza Strip. The Zionist state
continues to deny them their right to return to their
homes and lands of origin.
9. #BDS : Coca-Cola
• In October 2005, Coca-Cola increased its investment in Israel by buying a 51%
controlling interest in the Tavor Winery, an Israeli company that is based on
occupied Palestinian land at the foot of Mount Tavor, overlooking the Sea of
Galilee.
• In 2001, Coca-Cola bought 43% of Neviot Water, an Israeli company that is
based on stolen Palestinian land at Al Khalisa village.
• In July 2002, it was announced that Coca-Cola was to build a plant on stolen
Palestinian land at Kiryat Gat, in return for millions in incentives from the
Israeli government. The new plant will be employing 700 Israelis.
• The land, Kiryat (Qiryat) Gat, has an industrial park built on the lands of the
village of Iraq Al Manshiya. The residents were ethnically cleansed in 1949 in
contravention of International Law. This land would have been part of Arab
Palestine under the partition plan adopted by the United Nations in 1947.
However, this has not been the case.
10. #BDS : Danone
• It is present is Israel via 20% of the Strauss Group
and 20% of Mey Eden.
• Mey Eden is a leading mineral water company in
Israel. The brand and company were created in
1980 to commercialize / steal the water of the
occupied Golan.
11. #BDS : Dalaa
• The moroccan company deals with israeli
suppliers, via the logistic company ZIM.
• Dalaa denied working with an Israeli supplier,
without denying dealing with ZIM. Logistics
company ZIM only operates from Haifa.
