PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Research Development and Innovation
Officer
 Ensure overall coordination of performance indicators on RSTI mainstreaming in line
with the 2023-2024 PC guidelines;
 Provide necessary support to various levels in Baringo Technical College towards
effective implementation of RSTI Indicators in keeping with performance contract;
 To plan and ensure sensitization and capacity building on RSTI mainstreaming
among the employees in Baringo Technical College;
 Coordinate the development and implementation of RSTI strategy;
 Establish and implement monitoring and evaluation mechanisms;
 Promote collaboration, partnerships and networking through Baringo Technical
College Management to enhance advocacy and implementation of RSTI activities;
 Promote RSTI in the business process of Baringo Technical College;
 Ensure both quarterly and annual PC reports on RSTI Mainstreaming are submitted as
per PC guidelines;
 Performing any other duty assigned by the Principal or his/her designate

 Oversee the implementation of Applied Research Hub according to the outlined
Objectives and Indicators;
 Foster linkages with related industry to meet contemporary national and global
agenda in relation to Implementation of Applied Research Hub;
 Ensure implementation of Applied Research Hub complies to environmental
sustainability and conservation principles;
 To ensure that trainees are involved in experiential learning at every stage of the
Applied Research Hub;
 Provide continuous advisory for the improvement and development of Applied
Research Hub;
 Ensure that Applied Research Hub implementation comply with the laws and policies
of the Baringo Technical College and National Government;
 Manage established Applied Research Hub to create employment, job creation and
economic growth for local students;
 Review, prepare, and submit quarterly reports, as required by Colleges and Institutes
Canada (CICan), Mastercard Foundation and Young Africa Works in Kenya; and
 Performing any other duty assigned by the Principal or his/her designate

 Ensure proper requisition,maintence and safekeeping of all training materials

 Oraganise college-based and zonal subject panels to facilitate sharing of knowledge

 Coordinate the preparation and production of course materials to support curriculum
delivery

 Supervises and guide students on project proposal writing and report.
 Prepares course outlines for all the units allocated and issue to students within the first
week of the semester.
 Examine KNEC practical as internal assessor.
