The document discusses outsourcing and offshoring eLearning development. It provides an overview of industry trends in offshoring, including the top countries and cities for offshoring. While offshoring may provide cost savings, the document outlines several real-world challenges to consider, such as cultural differences, communication challenges, and ensuring quality. It emphasizes the importance of strong project management processes when working with offshore partners. Finally, it notes that an effective business case for offshoring should consider factors beyond just cost, including risks, resources, and strategic alignment.

Can you prove the impact of your learning programs on the business? We mean actually prove that training has a direct impact on meaningful business results like increased sales, reduced safety incidents, improved customer service and more?
Until recently, demonstrating the impact of key learning initiatives has been an extremely difficult, if not impossible, task. But to prove that learning is valuable, tying it to results is essential. In fact, that’s how functional areas across the business prove their value too. So, it’s time for learning leaders to catch up.
How do you do it? In short, by approaching Microlearning in the right way.
Join us for this exciting discussion with Axonify CEO, Carol Leaman, as she explores:
What learning metrics matter most to the business
How Microlearning can capture the data necessary to measure learning impact on organizational results
Stories from leading organizations that are using microlearning to drive real business results

Most organizations have accepted the need for a performance metrics framework. While these metrics are considered a necessity and often demand significant resources, many organizations are producing metrics reports that are not demonstrating value and do not seem to influence decision-making. This PDF document explores the key concepts, best practices and lessons learned from our years of public sector experience and other case studies. You will learn how to:
• Establish or rebuild your metrics framework
• Implement metrics that are S.M.A.R.T (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound)
• Identify what metrics your internal clients care and how to engage them
• Drive relevance and performance from your metrics reporting

Webinar: Prioritising with cost of delayNiels Verdonk
Whether it is for large initiatives or items on the product backlog, prioritising work is something many organisations are struggling with. Some choices will have different impacts for certain stakeholders. Often it is hard to keep things objective, since there are opinions, ego’s, status and emotions involved. Ordering by value is not always as linear as you would expect. In many cases we are comparing apples with oranges, for example how do you compare an initiative to attract new users with quality improvements?
In the webinar we will look at different aspects related to comparing items and we will explain the concept of Cost of Delay and how it can be used as a prioritisation technique.
This Masterclass is used to provide an introduction to the world off multi-national consulting, problem solving, client relationship skills and project management for first year post MBA Associate Consultants. We have used this introductory module and others in the series to help McKinsey, BCG, Deloitte and KPMG in Africa, China and Australia bring their new hires up to speed

Data management solutions always look good “on paper”. When it's just a matter of proposals and ROI projections on gleaming white stock, the “abstract” seems perfect. It's only when you go live, and real people get involved that things can get messy. If you don't have a clear, strategic implementation plan in place, who knows what could happen.
You need a plan. And Synergis has a proven plan. During this webcast, you’ll discover...
• Why creating alignment and generating positive buzz are essential to success
• What 6 critical steps must be followed to insure successful implementation
• Which best practices will make you a hero
• The most common pitfalls that impact ROI

We explored the power of visioning in creating effective UC&C strategies and getting beyond TCO to look at new measures of success.
Cisco vs. Microsoft: The Great Debate: We explored the latest Microsoft and Cisco UC&C solutions and provided the decision making framework on when organizations should choose a particular solution and the pros and cons for each.
The Art of the Possible – Using real life examples, we wrapped up the session discussing how Softchoice is helping clients augment their existing network, voice, presence, IM and video investments to deliver widely adopted collaboration experiences that drive enhanced productivity and new business opportunities.

Agile Inception Strategies : Presented by Khaarthigha SubramanianoGuild .
Agile Inception using Innovative and Collaborative techniques & Gamification came for rescue, But now this is also diluted a lot and becoming in-effective. But used well, this is highly effective even to discover more than what we are focusing and help channel the investments for the clients.
We took a real world problem that is meaningful to all attendees and used the following techniques as a real inception
– Describing the objectives of inception and inception outcomes
– Setting the vision
– Identify Competing constraints and decouple them
– Understand nuances of client relationship and being dynamic in modelling the solution
– Stakeholder mapping and communication plan
– Assumption mapping and hypotheses prioritisation
– Traceability of user needs to business goals through impact mapping.

Healthcare Enterprise Data Model: The Buy vs. Build DebatePerficient, Inc.
Every mid-to-large-sized healthcare organization will at some point need an enterprise data warehouse to consolidate data from its many source systems. The first question most will ask is, “Do I build it from scratch or buy a model?”
For some organizations, the answer to this question is simple and obvious. For others, it may be the source of internal debate on whether someone else can create a model that will address their nuances. Some will argue that a pre-built model will save time and money and should be explored as an option, while others may curb discussions due to the belief that their electronic medical records vendor already has it figured out.
In this webinar, we explored the pros and cons of building your own data model vs. buying one and looked at real customer use cases to help weigh the pros and cons of this critical enterprise decision. Topics included:
-How experience plays into the equation
-Which solution delivers value more quickly
-Which solution helps reduce the risk to the organization
-How easy is it to integrate other solutions
-How the decision to build vs. buy can impact your internal team

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

13. Offshoring in India
Industry Trends
Is there a future in offshoring in India? It depends upon who you’re talking to.
• “Wages are on the rise”
According to Forbes.com cost advantage used to be 1:6. Today it is estimated at 1:3.
Expected to be 0 by 2015
• “Where is the expertise?”
General thought, India executes services and does not invent its own products
• “Availability of skills”
The greater demand for workers will dilute the talent pool
• “It’s more difficult than it’s worth”
Communication problems and cultural differences will hinder development
15. Overview
Real World Challenges
Many challenges with offshore development can be broken down into 3 main areas:
• Operations
• Delivery
• Engagement
16. When thinking operations, consider:
• Time zone
• Critical response approach
• Purchasing/procurement policies
• IP ownership
• Tax implications
• Fluctuating payment currency
Considerations
Real World Challenges
17. When thinking delivery, consider:
• Project management processes and methodology
• Standards definitions
• Concept and requirements definitions
When thinking engagement, consider:
• Privacy of information protection
• Your offshoring partner sub contracting to other vendors
Considerations
Real World Challenges
18. Consider:
• Developing evaluation criteria
• Their expertise in development and content creation (resources and experience)
• Scalability - the ability to handle required development volume
• Business sustainability
• Business history
• Identifying technology standards
• Running a pilot - how do they manage their projects?
Picking an Offshore Partner
Real World Challenges
20. Project Management Processes
Managing Offshore Developments
You need good project management processes for:
• Setting expectations and clarity
• Escalations
• Contracts
• Managing the project manager
• Maintenance and warranty support
• Communication of scope
21. Cultural Diversity
Managing Offshore Developments
One of the largest challenges with offshore development is cultural differences.
• Understand the culture of your offshore team
- Acceptable vs offensive actions
- Humour
• Culture vs work culture
• Language barriers
22. Communications
Managing Offshore Developments
Clear and effective communication will make or break a project.
• Identify communication lines before you begin
• Ensure your are working with a strong team leader
- Single point of contact
- Responsible for all updates and reports
- Mitigate the risk of miscommunication
• Take nothing for granted
- Explain... listen... explain... listen, verify understanding
23. Building Relationships
Managing Offshore Developments
How do you build a strong, trusting, relationship that will survive reduced budgets,
compressed timelines and scope creep?
• Giving respect commands respect
• Work as a single team
• Know all team members and praise accordingly
• Celebrate landmarks together
25. Let’s revisit those initial thoughts. Offshoring your learning development is:
• Cheaper
• Faster
• Easier
• Better quality
Placeholder Thoughts
Building a Business Case
Yes, there are potential rate card/project fee advantages.
Often it is. Yet there may be a high risk to quality and time zone differences may
increase project timelines.
Not always. Project managing over a distance requires a higher degree of discipline
and organization.
Not always. Vendor quality is generally independent of geography.
26. Typically, cost savings are the biggest factor that drives the business case.
But also consider:
• Your organization’s project management cost
• The risk of delivering a successful project on time/on budget
• The risk of delivering a quality product
• Maintenance and support
• Impact on internal resources
Driving Your Business Case
Building a Business Case
27. 5 Key elements of developing an offshore business case:
• A scenario analysis must be conducted
• Establish a clear link between each benefit “cause” and “effect”
• Identify the operational performance indicator (OPI) for each benefit
• Risk of no investment
• Align the business case with the company’s strategic goals
