OWL
Offshore Wind Lineslip Facility
Drawing on our analytics, scale and market relationships, the Global
Broking Centre in London has created OWL, an Offshore Wind Lineslip
facility for clients operating in the renewable energy market.
OWL brings together a portfolio of offshore wind risks that enables Aon
to pre-agree terms and conditions with specialist insurers. Clients are able
to benefit from broadened competition, dedicated capacity to support
their placement and coverage that follows the conditions established by
lead insurers.
OWL provides USD 265 million of capacity for risks associated with both
the construction and operation of offshore wind farms and has helped
to increase insurer appetite within the offshore wind space.
Key benefits of OWL
Strengthened appetite
Through this facility Aon has encouraged a wider insurer spread for
offshore wind risks, bringing together a number of specialist Lloyd’s
and Bermuda carriers in support of OWL
Supporting capacity
OWL will support capacity provided by specialist lead insurers,
offering up to 25% in support of lead quotes
Recognised security
Capacity is provided by Lloyd’s syndicates and a Bermuda insurer, with
clients able to benefit from their A+ and A rated security respectively
