This document discusses lessons learned about creating educational software and open educational resources (OER) for teachers. It notes that while OER is fundamental to modern education, certain barriers can get in the way of their adoption. Specifically, it outlines 10 lessons, including that teachers don't like to share as much as assumed, simplicity and immediate relevance are important, and diversity and translation are keys to reaching a global audience with OER.
