Create, Rip, Mix and Burn

Tolga EVCIMEN – Özgün ÖKTEN
Introduction
In 2001, Apple for the first time came out with an extraordinary slogan which is “ Rip,
Mix , Burn “. Their aim was to create an interactive and connected community. So
it was an innovation for the people.
To accomplish this aim, they made web sites or programs to make us use them for
sharing our musical ideas, our writing and even our pictures. At the end people
were free to create their music and their words and they can share these digital
contents with other people. So everybody had the chance to create some different
ideas, copy from others ideas and mix them all together. The only thing that helps
us to make our own creative works is XML which can be called ‘future of the web’.
XML is like an storage for our data, pictures or words. And we can distribute our
works via e-mail, via Facebook ( which is an another social network service) , via
    blutooth or infrared.
Based on these innovations our lives became easy because we can reach all of our
works or we can find easily whatever we want to know. Even if it is an easy way to
do a research on the internet, this collaboration effects our life’s in a bad way
because the conclusion is good but it is not a good impact for cultural and ethical
issues. We don’t create a whole new project. Because of this there should be
limitations for using other peoples ideas.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Question One

When we rip (copy) other peoples ideas and share with other
people don’t we plagiarize their ideas at the same time?

Answer: Plagiarism is using thoughts or opinions of other
peoples without knowing or without showing source of
their information’s and use them as our own opinions.
Changing the use of linguistic and structural expression of
someone else’s thoughts from their works is just an
another way of plagiarism. Also changing the order of
words, changing the words or taking sentences out are not
acceptable. You have to show which source you use for
  those information’s.
There are several ways to avoid from plagiarism.
1.Write about your own experiences
2.Keep your Eyes and Ears open: Most writers write about what they
hear and see every day. This could be a good basis to start a
research on your research or subject.
3.Take note of what you read: when you read a book or an
encylopedia you can take a note of it.
4.Use a fresh Perspective: A book, a story, a play, or movie can give a
great idea and a particular direction. You have to try to view
somethings in a different perspective or from different angle of
   views.
5.Use your Imagination: Creating something new is not always easy or
really possible. So long as you are using your own imagination, and
you are writing from your own perspective.
QUESTION TWO
How can we be creative person or innovative when we mix
two different things which they had already been made?

Answer: When we mix two different things that they had
already exist we can not be creative and innovative person.
Because we have to add something different from
ourselves to be more creative. For example: we can try new
things and try untried or unseen, we should take risks, we
can be courageous and we should think out of box. But the
most important thing is adding value by being different.
QUESTION THREE
Doess/he be successful when s/he takes someone’s
ideas and reuse it with an another idea?

Answer: It does not really easy to be successful. To
be successful it needs to create some differences.
To create different things we do not be in need
other peoples ideas or opinions. We can get
inspiration but we cant allow them to make
change our own opinions. There is a line between
getting inspiration or information and using their
ideas directly. We must be aware of that.
QUESTION FOUR
Does plagiarism make our lives easier?

Answer: Plagiarism could make our lives easier.
For example: plagiarism helps us to save our
energy and our time. When we cant think in a
fast way or logically it helps us to get
information in a short time. Althought
  plagiarism is a crime.
QUESTION FIVE
When we make our life easy, how could we be sure
about the rightness of that information?

Answer: We cant be sure information’s rightness
totally but there are several web sites such as
Google and Wikipedia that gives us very helpful
information’s and they are acceptable for all over
the world. Also we can use different types of
resources when we find the same information we
can be almost sure about its rightness.
QUESTION SIX
How XML makes our lives easier?

Answer: It's useful if you want to store data or
distribuite data and if you want to transform your
data. As a standard way of formatting data, it's
best used for communication between foreign
programs. And you can create your own fields
and records, and you don't need specific
programs to read it or write it.
QUESTION SEVEN & QUESTION EIGHT
Will plagiarism become a disease?

Answer: Plagiarism can become a disease because
provides an easy and simple knowledge.

Can people earn money in this way?

Answer: Who has the original idea can earn a lot money.
Also who makes changes from her/his ideas could earn
a lot money by using those ideas in different sectors of
  business.
QUESTION NINE
How Apple makes our lives easier?

Answer: Choosing a computer in these days became a
huge problem because of the renewed technology and
it is important to spend your money wisely
(intelligently). Apple believes that a computer is more
than just a machine that provides a function. It is a part
of your life. Because of this Apple computers have
everything you need. They are designed to be as
reliable, powerful and beautiful. Its software is easy to
use and don’t get viruses. And it runs Office such as
  Word, Excel, PowerPoint and more.
