Our online charity auction was a smashing success! We
were blessed with phenomenal support from so many
people!
We had doTerra Healing Hands foundation matching up to
$15000 US and happily we raised that much and more.
With these funds
we will be
completing the
third and final
phase of our
community center
in Javillar.
Our school uniform campaign
was very well supported. We
were able to help in the
communities of Javillar,
Baraguana, Munoz, Loma
Blanca, La Grua, Perez, Barrio
Angela, La Seiba and more.
Over 200 children were blessed
to be able to attend school
because of this!
We are pleased and happy
that Clarens, one of our
volunteers who has received
help from the foundation with
his medical schooling and
home is paying it forward in
his community. He organized
a medical operative to help
the people in Baraguana. He
is doing great work!
Because of generous donations, we were able to distribute 100 food packs to hungry
families in the community of Munoz with funds we raised for World Food Day.
On October 21st 8 families lost their homes to fire in Puerto Plata. Dominican Starfish
Foundation immediately went into action. We sent $1000 and then started a fundraiser to
raise it. (A little backward but a crisis situation). Gratefully we raised that and much more.
Our team volunteer, Clarens went immediately to the area and purchased food for the
families. With out donations,
purchased school
supplies and uniforms
so that the children
could return to school.
We found 8 sponsors for
the 8 families affected so
that they could pay rent
for 2 months in a new
place. We helped people
replace small businesses.
We also bought beds and
stoves as people lost
everything!!
We started a fundraiser to
help Ricardo whose home
was very damaged by the
fire but was left standing.
We will be repairing his
home in November.
We donated many items of
clothing, shoes, sheets, hygiene
and household items from our
distribution center.
The gazebo is taking shape in our
playground in Javillar. Also, the base
has been set for the play castle which
will be coming soon.
A long-awaited dream is coming to
pass, slowly but surely.
Yubelkes, her husband and 6 children
have now moved into their new home as
well. This was built by our original team
in Javillar. It is hard to get a good photo
because it is tucked into a small space.
The duplex that we are
building in La Sieba is
nearing completion and
two families will be
blessed to move in
during November. It has
been a very big project.

This is Daniel. He is also one
of our workers and in
desperate need. His home
was started this month also in
the community of La Sieba
near the duplex.
This shows the progress on
the home for Elizabeth and
Miguel and their 6 children.
This home is being built in
the community of Javillar.
Currently they live in the
rental home pictured
below. 8 people sleep in
one bedroom.
The home for Nancy and
Roberto in the community of
Javillar is also progressing.
The home they were living in
was being eaten by termites.
They are a couple who helps
very much in the community.
They have 4 children
We always like helping people who help
themselves all that they can. We helped a
young expectant mother with doors,
windows and a bathroom for her new little
place.
Since last December we
have been able to assist
with food packs every
month for 15 families in
the community of San
Rafael. This is from
recurring funds from
donors who chose
families to support!!
What a blessing for
them.
Thanks to a very kind donor, we have
been able to add two additional
university students to the list of those
we are already supporting. This brings
our current total to 5 again.
Nairoby is a young mother who is
attending medical school. Without our
help she was going to have to drop out
of her program.
We are also helping Elaine to go to
medical school We don’t have a photo
of her yet.
