Roberto and Nancy
have a beautiful new
home in Javillar
HOUSING

December 31
A wonderful life-change
for Daniel and his family!
Fernando’s
house is
starting to be
built. So
much hard
work
involved.
David and Sheyla’s
home is finally
being built. We
raised the money
in June but it took
us a long time to
get the licenses
needed to build on
the land.
David fortunately
has some
connections with
relatives with large
equipment, so this
helped very much
in the initial stages
of excavation and
land fill.
This is an example
of a home make
over. This home
wasn’t completely
demolished but
rebuilt. This is for a
little family with
mom and dad and
two daughters.
Jordy is an amazing young man. Little did he know that when he
started volunteering as a clown at the hospital in the children's ward
over 10 years ago, that his own little Amy would contract Leukemia at
the age of 3 years. With his small wage, he had been saving to buy
his family a home. Now all his income and more goes to helping
with cancer treatments.
We are so grateful
for our donors
who have helped
raise the funds for
this family to have
a home. We are
still looking for
property. The
home will be
started sometime
in the new year!
Christmas hampers
were delivered again
in the community of
San Rafael de Yuma
near Punta Cana.
FEEDING THE HUNGRY
Amarilis hosted our
annual senior’s Christmas
party, complete with
delicious food, prizes,
gifts, dancing and more.
There were 120 people in
attendance at our
beautiful Starfish Center
in Javillar.
In the community of
Baraguana, Clarens
hosted a Christmas
party for 60
children. They had
food, activities and
gifts. Everyone
loved it!!
Christmas gifts
and hampers
were delivered
to families in
the community
of Llanos de
Perez and
beyond.
Thank you to
Alise and Raul
Our amazing
teacher, Alise
brought Christmas
to life in the
Flamingo English
School this year. She
taught the children
about customs
around the world,
They made their
own hats and
decorations and
they even learned to
sing “We Wish You a
Merry Christmas (all
verses) in English.
Thanks to the sponsors who make this school possible!!
Education
Toys that were
donated were taken
down in November by
our team were
donated for Christmas
to the children in the
schools.
We are helping to support
the upcoming hot lunch
program at the Youth
Upliftment School which is
one of the educational
facilities that we help to
sponsor. We also donated
gifts for their Christmas
party.
Without our amazing team, we would
be nothing!! Amarilis and Fernando
hosted a Christmas party for our
workers complete with delicious food,
prizes, Christmas bonuses and more.
Over 60 people were in attendance.
THANKS TO ALL!!
EMPLOYMENT
Health and Wellness
In December, we were able to raise
funds for baby Mya (left) to have a
much-needed hernia surgery.
Amy (right) is 5. She was
diagnosed with Leukemia at age 3.
She has fought a valiant battle.
We recently helped the family
again with medical treatments.
This young single mom has 5
children. She was in a terrible
motor-bike accident on her
way home from work
recently. We have helped
with food and medication.
We really hope her leg will
heal and that she won’t have
to have it amputated.
Though 2021
has been
challenging in
many ways,
our donors
have proved
their kindness
and
generosity to
so many
projects in
the
Dominican
Republic!!
Thank you to all!!
