STATEMENT OF PROBLEMS:-
 “To evaluate the effectiveness of structured
Teaching Programme regarding reducing the
risk of neonatal infection among post natal
mothers in LBS (lal bahadur shastri hospital)
Hospital at Bhopal with a view to develop an
information on Pamphlet”.
OBJECTIVES:-
 Assess the knowledge of post natal mothers
regarding reducing the risk of neonatal infection.
 To evaluate the effectiveness of structured
teaching programme on knowledge regarding
reducing the risk of neonatal infection among
postnatal mothers.
 To find out the Association of pretest knowledge
on reducing neonatal infection among postnatal
mother with their selected demographic
variables.
RESEARCH HYPOTHESIS:-
 H1:- Increased the knowledge of postnatal
mothers regarding reducing neonatal
infection after use the structured teaching
programme by post test.
 H2:- There has significant association
between the pretest knowledge regarding
reducing the risk of neonatal infection.
ASSUMPTION:-
 The postnatal mothers of LBS Hospitals will
be having less knowledge regarding reducing
risk of neonatal infections.
 We can assume, with the help of pamphlet
will improve the knowledge of postnatal
mothers of LBS Hospital regarding reducing
the risk of neonatal infection.
OPERATIONAL DEFINITION:-
 1) Effectiveness:-
(According to Oxford Dictionary):
“Effectiveness refers to producing of intended
effect”.
“Effectiveness is the capability of producing a
desired result of knowledge and practice of
postnatal mothers regarding reducing
neonatal infection”.
 2) Structured Teaching programme:-
 “It is a systematic planned sequence of
experiences, leading to prefacing in terms of
stimulus response relationship and in this
study it includes – introduction, definition,
causes, sign and symptom, management
and prevention of neonatal infection”.
3) Neonatal Infection: -
“Infection in neonates of organism
including bacteria, viruses, fungi and serious
hazards faced by the new born due to
relatively immature defense system”.
4) Postnatal mother:
“postnatal period is the period beginning
immediately after the birth of a child and
extending for about six weeks. Less
frequently used are the terms puerperium
or puerperal period”.
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION OF SAMPLE:-
 Inclusion criteria:-
1. Postnatal mother’s those who are admitted
in LBS hospital, Bhopal.
2. Postnatal mothers those who are present
at the time of study.
Exclusion Criteria:-
1. Postnatal mothers those who are absent
during research study.
DELIMITATION OF THE STUDY
 The study was delimited to,
 1. Postnatal mother residing in katju
Hospital only.
 2. Who were willing to participate in this
study.
 3. Who were presents during data
collection period.
