Direct Investment (FDI).
During the period April 2000-June 2017, the hotel
and tourism sector attracted around US$ 10.48
billion of FDI

Foreign tourist arrivals (FTAs) in India increased 18
per cent year-on-year to reach 723,000 in September
2017.
India's Foreign Exchange Earnings (FEEs) increased
16.1 per cent year-on-year to US$ 2.176 billion in
August 2017.
5. INTRODUCTION OF THE OBEROI GROUP
The Oberoi Group, founded in 1934, operates 31
hotels, Nile Cruisers and a Motor Vessel in the
backwaters of Kerala. The Group has presence in six
countries under the luxury Oberoi and five-star
'Trident' brand. The Group is also engaged in flight
catering, airport restaurants, travel and tour services,
car rentals, project management and corporate air
charters.
6. Founder
Rai Bahadur Mohan Singh Oberoi was born on 15th
August, 1898 in erstwhile undivided Punjab, which is
in Pakistan.
He found a job at a monthly salary of INR 50, as the
front desk clerk at the Cecil Hotel.
8. CEO & CHAIRMAN
Mr. P.R.S. Oberoi is the Executive Chairman of EIH
Limited, the flagship company of The Oberoi Group.
He is also the Chairman of Oberoi Hotels Private
Limited, the major shareholder of EIH Limited.
Popularly known as "Biki", Mr. Oberoi is the son of
late Rai Bahadur Mohan Singh Oberoi, the founder
of The Oberoi Group.

On 19th November 2014, The Oberoi Group commenced
a partnership with SOS Children's Villages with the
objective of supporting the education and well being of
under-privileged children, a primary principle of the
Company's CSR policy.
The Oberoi Group with SOS Children’s Villages provides
for the upbringing and education to 210 parentless,
homeless or abandoned children living in SOS Children’s
Villages in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar,
Chennai, Cochin, Jaipur and Kolkata
