Importance of obeying the Messenger (saw)?
"You have a good model in the Messenger of Allah for one who hopes for Allah
and the Last Day." [Al-Qur'an 33:21]
"On the day when their faces are turned over in the Fire, they will say,
'Would that we had obeyed Allah and that we had obeyed the Messenger.‘ "
[Al-Qur'an 33:66]

Who is included in ‘ulil ‘amr’?
Lexically those in whose hands lies the management and administration of
something.
Commentators includes scholars, jurists, officials, rulers.
Includes leadership in organizations.
Why is it important to follow our leaders?
Hadith: “Hear & obey your leaders, even if an Ethiopian slave whose head is
like a raisin, is made your chief” (fath-al-baari 13:130).
In another narration “even if an Ethiopian slave, whose nose was mutilated”
(Muslim)
